SoundGarden is one of those bands that with RARELY exceptions ALL the members are top level musicians, just like the Beatles or PinkFloyd, where all the members were talented and multifaceted. The bassist (Ben Shepherd) is a monster, the drummer (Matt Cameron) is a killer, the guitarist (Kim Thayil) is breathtaking in the tuning and complexity of the riffs, and Cornell sings like a God of Olympus, as well as playing very well, it's a band that has everything in terms of music, composition, chords, sonority, it's like a classical music show where the Maestro is rock n roll.

King of Grunge, innovator and Architect of the Seattle sound, what can I say, it's been 6 years today Chris, and I'm still missing you, my heart still aches for you. Your music helped changed my life in a good way, it made me feel included, it made me feel understood, your powerful crooning and soulful screams, one of the most iconic rockstars to have ever lived, and was very easy on the eyes. I will never forget you. 5.18.23 #ChrisForever

In watching this, I take back every criticism of Cornell's voice I've had in the years since Euphoria Morning. When the dude gets it right, he really, really gets it right. To pull off an Ultramega OK track and have it sound so fresh, with vocals that, in my opinion, make the original pale in comparison, is wonderful; maturity, depth and a fuller sound than back in those days. He's still up there as having one the most outstanding voices of the last 30+ years, not to mention his, and the rest of the band's, outstanding songwriting to support the whole thing. Awesome.

This is a great song. I love how Kim Thayil is such a calm mellow player. He just lets his guitar play do all the talking. I never get sick of Beyond the Wheel. That is such a cool song, and Kim is always going to play it a little different each time. Absolutely my favorite band from the 90's. So glad they are keeping us all young.

Follow it with Seasons from Cornell's solo project, Alice in Chains Love Hate Love, maybe Disgustipated off of Tools Undertow albom....great songs to vaporize to.... But I think I may have to put on Aloe Blacc's Ticking bomb. It's totally not what style music I usually listen to,, but for that style, it's dark, speaks truth, and holy F'n monkryballs, that Colored Guy can F'n sing!! His vocals kick into high gear halfway thru, and the raw power and emotion kick u in the dangly parts,!

This is what happens when a really good band works on their craft, even while apart, and then comes back with a thoughtful interpretation of their older material, underlining the strength of the material and the power of their musicianship. Then, on top of that, Cornell comes in with a voice as clear as it had been in years, and improvises that high note at the end. They were at the peak of their power, and there was no telling what might have come next. Miss you, Chris.

It's like the world's most exciting band just met the world's least excited audience. I'd have died of utter awe if I'd been there. Chris Cornell. The coolest man who ever lived.
