Tony Toni Toné have created some amazing Soul/R&B music. After learning their entire 'Sons Of Soul' album on guitar, I wanted to share with you some melodic chord embellishment tricks that I'd picked up from a few of their songs. These ideas will definitely make your regular chord progressions much more melodic and interesting! The songs that I reference in the video are 'Anniversary' and 'Lay Your Head On My Pillow' from their album 'Sons Of Soul' ✌️

Back in the days I would go nuts rewinding bangin my head trying to figure chords out. You guys make this too easy now!! But thanks for takin the time.

Thank you for this bro. TTT (specifically Jubu Smith and Dwayne Wiggins) were huge inspirations for me to pick up guitar in the first place. Your lesson is chock full of informative techniques and soulful as hell.
Hey Darryl! I'm a long term shredder/metal now jazzer (Yngwie, Vinnie Moore, Satch, Frank Gambale, etc) but I'm not too proud to learn some new things, still obsessed with improving. Really enjoying your fingerstyle course and all the stylistic things in this style. Lots more woodshedding to do. Inspired to get my channel going again thanks to you.

Great lesson! Would you be able to do a lesson on common scales used in neo-soul? Particularly the melodic minor. I don't understand when or how to apply it.
