Just a little bit of writing based on a character from my current story, Infiltrated. Leroy spun a ballpoint pen in his hand, staring at the paperwork in front of him. He didn't know what being Mr. Aguillard's right hand man would entail, but he never expected to be doing his paperwork. He expected a lot more violence, or commanding people to do things. No wonder Eddison looked so exhausted after being shoved into the position. Well, he put down the pen and rubbed his eyes, which were slowly getting blurrier as the night went on. A sad attempt at screaming could be heard from a room nearby, but that was something Leroy had to deal with on the daily. He could practically tune it out by now. Besides, it would be so soon that he'd get to shut that screaming up anyway. He turned the reading light off and cracked his knuckles on the edge of his desk. He'd been filling things out for hours. Letters to the Orderly, agreements of peace with neutral towns, and all sorts of threatening words of 'advice' to those who dared oppose Mr. Aguillard. Now, though, he needed to step away. A knock on his office door changed that though. He stood up and cracked his back, then opened the door. Richard Aguillard stood before him, bruised and bleeding. "Teller, we need you at Facility 27b. The Orderly are acting rather disorderly, and you've got to help us defend ourselves," Aguillard coughed out. Leroy nodded, knowing that this was his chance to bring down the Insurgence once and for all, and go back to the Orderly that he so cared for. But with no weapons in sight, he resigned his plans to another day. Besides, with the insanity going on at Facility 27b, he couldn't do it without the whole world knowing it was him. "Of course, sir. I assume you've got your weapons there? Or did the Orderly somehow destroy your last line of defense?" "Well I couldn't get my own when I heard about it," Mr. Aguillard's voice shook as he spoke, he was clearly afraid of what the Orderly could do to his people, or even himself. Certainly a good thing for Leroy, but not for Aguillard, "But Gregory, the owner of 27b, is going to let me borrow his weaponry. It's not great, but that's why we need you." "I assure you, I'll make sure we don't lose this. Let me get my guns, you can wait in my office, and we'll be on the road." Leroy had to hold back a remark about how pathetic it was that the big man behind this all would come crawling to his doorstep to beg for help, but he held back a lot of remarks over the years in the Insurgence. His remarks to himself were the only thing keeping him from being indoctrinated, so to speak. The door slammed shut behind him, and he left to find his firearm collection, which he kept despite finding it hard to use. Another day, another step close to getting back order. Even if blood had to be shed, it would be worth it in the end, when _his_ people eventually took him back.
