Lovely! I think when the Mother in Law found the box she was sniffing from empty, it meant that she was finally free from all earthly bondages and free to cross over from this realm, as she had finally served her soul's purpose.... She was meant to guide her daughter in law to live her life on her own terms... I sent this to a friend and she came up with an interpretation that perhaps since the daughter in law wished to do something else in life, she got this spiritual guidance from the Mother in law in her dream... Her sub-conscious guiding her... She wanted to meet her MIL, so she became a medium to bring that spiritual message to her... Perhaps she wasn't expecting any understanding from anyone known to her...

Hey sameeha..i loved ur canvas..u hav painted it with so many emotions.i thought at the end the DIL should suggest her husband abt performing shraddha of his departed mother.But i liked ur idea of keeping many things to viewer's imagination..that keeps u wondering abt what might have happened next. I feel like this short film is not far from how some of the content in marathi industry is like. I really like that they are not following the super flashy bollywood and show how and what the majority of population lives like and thinks about. Very close to the ground, not very controversial fights just an developing understanding. While we have to come to OTTs to find this kind of content in hindi, marathi TV serials and movies had already been exploring this for a while now. It's great to see Netflix introducing regional content.

the problem is maharashtra unfortunately is dominated by hindi films.even in theaters marathi films dont get enough screens because of movie mafias and their third class films... marathi cinema is class. mostly all actors come from theatre background...

Who's the poet?

This hit close to home for me and my husband, because he is konkani and lost his mother at a young age, has a similar home in a small village in kokan,I felt so out of place when I went there first time, my mother in law used to it Paan vida. I never got to meet my mother in law, we both cried while watching this short film. I have heard so many things about her from my husband, sad I can never meet her. I think it’s good in a way that my husband could shed some tears and show his feelings, he is a tough guy, but I think wherever his mother is she will know her little boy still misses her.

मला तर शेवट चा seen बघून खुप भारी वाटलं.. माझा सुद्धा शेवट असच शांत नैसर्गिक फुलाने व्हावा आणि हि कंमेंट वाचणाऱ्यांचाही शेवट असच व्हावा... कारण मरण हेच एकमेव सत्य आहे आयुष्यात ❤

currently I don't live in Maharashtra, I don't even live in India. I just happened to stumble upon this film, and my god. I have no words, especially the song at the end. Aksharshaaha dole bharun aale. I want to be a writer too, and contribute to existing Marathi artforms, this inspired me to continue. Thank you!

अप्रतिम आणि परिणामकारक चित्रपट! विषय तसा परिचित, पण त्याची मांडणी अगदी नावीन्यपूर्ण. सादरीकरण सफाईदार. वातावरण निर्मिती प्रभावी. काहीसा बुद्धीपेक्षा भावनांना प्राधान्य देणारा, म्हणून संघर्षाला / क्लायमॅक्स ला कमी महत्व देणारा, predictable असा चित्रपट. जरूर पहा!!👌

सुंदर आहे कथा. I liked how mother in law and daughter in law could connect with each other despite differences in their generations. I think in last scane, finally mother in law gets मुक्ती. The ending scene of the movie was really touching. The concept of movie is too good presented in a simple manner not like a Jhagmaag Bollywood style. Except for Bollywood all other Regional State really come out with good movies. By all means we have to be proud of our Indian Culture and really loved the rituals for the departed souls. Hope the younger generation will learn something from this movie. Smoking scene could have been avoided as that’s not part of our Indian Culture. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Sameeha! What a wonderful film... I totally loved every bit of the movie! I lost my grandpa at the age of 3... I was 3 and he was 95. My mom joined me in school at 2 yrs of age and my grandpa was very upset with the fact that his little granddaughter had to wake up really early in the morning and go to school. An active and healthy person my grandpa was, he used to drop me till the rickshaw and would wave till the rickshaw left... I remember, few months after he passed away, I saw someone like him near my school and went around telling everyone at home that I saw thatha... Several years later, present day, everytime I struggle for a solution, I think of my thatha and bam! I get my answers. I always feel he's there, somewhere around my family, eagerly waiting to help us while in need... So, this movie of yours is a treat to some of us, who experience the presence of our dear ones. Cheers and more power to you, to make more such films!!

Short Film making is such a fine art. With my limited understanding of the finer nuances of the language, could gauge the undercurrent about the renunciation of the soul, how eventually the soul surrenders to the elements... once the inner trepidation is being addressed. This is such a beautiful short film. Such a beautiful message and the conversation between the daughter-in-law and the mother-in-law is so wholesome. The last scene and the song at the last is so gorgeous and has my whole heart. ♥️🌸🍃🌼

❤❤❤❤Deeply moving story. Acceptance of each other by two different generations , literally setting their souls free. Very well conceived, made and performed.

Stunning! Pure story telling without any use of special effects. Shot beautifully with natural acting. I do understand Marathi but have to rely on subtitles and still enjoyed watching the story unfold. I'm not sure why but these true to heart stories always click and thanks to platforms like KZread, OTTs we get to see a ton of such incredible content.

My hometown is in the same region (Kokan) and I have a home like this there. This film hits me hard. I always have felt that my soul will be stuck there forever.

This actually made me cry. This is so well made, I loved it from the bottom of my heart. My pure love to the actors, director, story writer and the whole crew. I loved it so damn much. Its kinda sad that how the girl met someone who helped make her house like a home and she wont see her again.
