I think the number of curio cards is probably because of print sheet sizes. As far as I know the smallest print sheet size when it comes to playing cards that printers typically deal with is 9. Note: this is also why typically when you buy a deck of cards there are 2 filler cards (typically Jokers) in addition to the 52 regular playing cards, so that the total number (54) is divisible by 9

Some many great ideas in the comment here! I think there might be something to that idea, but in order not to waste cards, and if we are going by the number 9, then should we expect to see at least 3 or maybe even 6 foil Curios in the coming sets, since we only had three for Beta? Thanks for checking out the video and sharing your thoughts!

Thank you for this very clear resume on Curios!! I did not know much about the story behind them, it is always refreshing to watch your content! Great effort! So we might expect some Beta-related curios in the next Arthurian Legend’s set !!

I bought only 1 booster box from Team Covenant and I pulled an Avatar of Air sketch curio...also had a foil Aquamarine Core....pretty wild

I run a Curio list for the community in our Discord and I try to keep track of all Curios pulled, so we have an estimate of the number, since the Sorcery team are letting players enjoy the Curios and don’t comment on them. @@CardboardGuide No problem. Wish I had watched this before I pulled the Templar Curio. ALMOST missed it. Was 3 quarters of the way through the box when my son said- "we got this one already, but it had different art." I had put it in the stack with the rest of the foils from the box. This video is most helpful. Now I know what to look out for. Thanks for the content.

I wonder if using the unique number of curios and knkwing the size of a printing sheet if speculation can lead to a somewhat accurate prediction on the number of each curio printed.

I think it might be possible, but I would not be the math person to try and figure that out, and I am guessing if there was a possible way to make that estimation Haine from Wizard's Den would have been all over it! 😉

Another nice video. Originally I really liked the curio idea and I thought in alpha they did pretty well even tho some of them I felt were pretty underwhelming. But the beta, I feel like they just got lazy with most of them. There are just a few that are actually impactful in beta.

Hi there Protagonist! Not surprisingly, I still really enjoy the Curios. ☺️ I think if we opened the perspective of Curios being different, and them jointly having the goal of adding an element of surprise and interest, I think they all do that well. I think there have been some voices who have been very quick to judge some as “objectively” good or bad. I also have personal favorites, but I know people in the game who enjoy various ones, and I think the good/bad dichotomy is a little weird. The inclusion of the Curios still feels very true to the game, and even the slightly more trolling/humorous ones makes me smile, and I enjoy the team being able to poke a bit of fun at themselves. I am very curios to hear more about what you think are the impactful Curios, and why you think they have more impact? As always, we appreciate you checking out the video and leaving a comment! ❤️

@@CardboardGuide sure. Anything with historical reference such as the black obelisk or the mechanics symbols that haven’t made it in, things like that I feel show a part of the history of the game. Some of the alt arts, while that’s not my jam, are really impressive. Steppe. Brom deathspeaker etc. these all play a vital role in telling the story of SCR in my opinion. But an “alpha Erics Curiosa” in the beta set. Or a sphere of destiny with the “alpha” symbol. These to me don’t even make sense when you think about the caliber of creatives that Erik and team are. At least with the trolls (which I didn’t like the one letter drop being a curio) at least that’s a creative way to troll ppl and make fun.

Yeah, let us see where we go in the future, right now I think one set a year with a mini set could work as well. I think a lot of people enjoy the idea of time to keep, collect, enjoy, and play without constantly thinking about a new set. Maybe one set will be enough, and maybe two set will be needed to keep people engaged. 😉 Thanks for checking out the video!
