Wrong. In both countries the first and foremost issue is and always will be the economy. Especially, in India. Religion is a issue of the well fed. The poor only care about their rozi roti. If you fail to understand this then you will never understand why someone like Modi or Trump wins.

The gun strategy in India is amazing as well, tbh. Last year there were multiple shooters, in front of policemen and none of them were punished. They just got bail in a couple of hours or days and their release was celebrated. But this scheme only works when you do it in support of the government. Otherwise even a tweet can be deemed an act of terrorism. That, is the gun control in India.

The right wing govt in india 1. actually extended the period for abortions. 2. did not challenge the decriminalisation of homosexual relationships 3. Brought law to ban triple talaq 4. Transgenders have a right to inherit property in UP (Not saying that i am fan, but what is right and left, and conservative and liberal differs from country to country. )

This is very simplistic statements to explain all those 4 points you made... Conservative right wing governments are same everywhere. Usually the socially privileged class is conservative right wing, because the current existing social landscape is comfortable for them and gives them social privilege.. So they want to "conserve" the existing system, hence called conservative...

I like Bill Majer, but his whole attitude is "do you belive in god, if yes you are stupid". While i agree with all his points on atheism and i personally doesn't believe in god, we should not criticise other people just because they believe in god. They should have there own choice. The same way everyone should have the right to have their believe as long as they doesn't hurt others.
