Literally. I actually was in denial. Thought it was a joke for first 5 minutes of learning. It was surreal to experience that. Just a refusal to believe.

AYYYYY SOPHIEEEEEE!!!! Duee she is the greatest ever to me, so glad that yoy're reacting to it! Her production is second to none, she's just the best. As a transgender woman, she's my number 1 inspiration. RIP SOPHIE.

If you want Charli and SOPHIE together check out Charli's Vroom Vroom EP, it's all produced by her.

It's a real shame that this was her only album. She made a significant impact on pop production during her relatively short career. I think SOPHIE planted the seeds that became the genre of hyperpop.

It’s honestly really crazy to think every single sound you hear was either created by altering vocals or by creating sounds from scratch by drawing the waveforms (!!!) herself. She truly was such an incredible artist, and it is so sad to know she was taken away too soon.

I feel like the headspace matters too. I first listened when the album came out while walking over a long bridge in the most amazing weather, I just stopped and stared at the water and cried. When I want to remember her I try to go near the water and listen to that song and it makes me emotional again .

fun fact: SOPHIE produced all this by manually editing sine waves using elektron monomachine, and when i said produced all this, i meant that she all produced this sound all from scratch eschewing from sampling anything but the vocals

You should react to her previous compilation album, it's called PRODUCT. It's made in a really other style and it's more pop-ish, but the sound of PRODUCT is still unique to SOPHIE. Love it.

I mentioned it when you were doing Radiohead's Kid A and i'll mention it here too. Both Thom Yorke and Sophie cite Autechre as a major influence and there's a lot of parallels between Sophie's production style in particular and Autechre. She said they were her idols and when asked to let someone remix one of her tracks she said the only artist who was permitted to do so would be Autechre. Whole New World / Pretend world is quite autechre-esque.

Sophie is so great at ambience and space. The bangers are obviously legendary, but the chill moments are sublime.

SOPHIE was an amazing producer and her influence cannot be understated! Id definitely recommend checking out more of her work and the songs that she’s produced for other artists! Its sad that we lost her too soon 💔

Cecile Believe is an amazing friend and collaborator to SOPHIE who has led her vocals for the album she’s basically the most prominent vocal in the whole album (Sophie also sings of course) I recommend checking out her songs as well cause she’s an amazing independent artist on her own and so underrated despite being such an important figure on the BIGGEST Hyperpop album ever released

jesse kanda (doon Kanda) also does very wet sounding textures in his music u should check it out !

sophie was a visionary and pioneer for hyper pop, this is one of my all time favourite albums, and speaking of charli xcx collaborations as a comment mentioned she produced every track on vroom vroom, as well as roll with me and lipgloss on number 1 angel, out of my head on pop 2 and they had a whole album worked together coined xcx world by fans but was sadly scrapped by her label (although songs after the afterparty, no angel and girls night out where released), if you check out her production credits you’ll find a whole bunch of collaborations, including vince staples, flume, madonna and more and the attention to detail is even more crazy on pretending, if you speed it up you can hear lyrics

i had so much fun watching this. he should do product next.
