Thank you for this video. I have been using Soolantra for a little over a year and it has changed my life. I went to two different doctors and two Dermatologists over a two year period before I was diagnosed with the mites you discussed. For two years I barely left the house my symptoms were so bad. My face was covered with pustules at times so bad I was almost unrecognizable. Within 48 hours of using Soolantra my skin was markedly improved and within a week all symptoms were gone. I was able to have laser surgery to minimize the broken capillaries. It is so nice having my face back.

I’m so glad you had success. My skin got more and more wretched with Soolantra. I stopped after 3 months, changed my skincare and it’s back to normal. Maybe I was hormonal, I’m 49 so I’m likely premenopausal.

Dr Sam Bunting I’m 50 with Rosacea with small pustules and papular bumps. I had a horrible break out for months using Soolantra with metronidazole . I had a wedding to go to and my face looked like I was going through puberty. I called my dermatologist about it and she prescribed me a very expensive antibiotic pill and the bumps immediately disappeared. I now use generic Finacea and it has been a game changer. Was the breakout caused by the bacteria released caused by the death of demadex?

Dr. Dray. I really need to thank you. You helped me clear up what I suspect was eczema on my cheeks and forehead that had persisted for two years. I was so scared that it would eventually take over my whole face. I was a sucker for pricey green, natural beauty products, which probably led my skin to that state, yet I kept slathering them on, wondering what I was doing wrong. Then one of your videos popped up, and after only 3 days of following your advice, the inflammation is gone. You've changed my whole perspective. My skin has never felt better. Thank you so much for selflessly putting out such solid information that actually helps people. You are AWESOME. P.S. I love the Ceramedx cleanser! I'm copying your whole routine, but with cruelty free products you recommend. :)

I’m 49 with Rosacea and started getting many little papules within the last year. I had only issues with broken capillaries in the past. My dermatologist prescribed Soolantra. My skin got horrendous, I felt like I was 15 again. I used is for over 3 months and it kept getting worse and I was using Vanicream.. I read up on it thoroughly and a reaction could be due to the bacteria that was being released when the mites died. I started an antibiotic which helped but it was pricey. I was frustrated so I stopped the Soolantra paired with the Metrogel . I changed my regimen fromVanicream to Drunk Elephant and my skin has changed a 180! I still get a tiny blemish here and there but nothing like my skin was before I started using the prescription topical creams and gels and during the Soolantra. That was a month ago. My question is since I only get a tiny blemish every so often could it be that I didn’t have a mite issue and it was my skincare and maybe my skin just changed or is just part of my Rosacea? I’m premenopausal so maybe that was the culprit instead of ramped mites. I have watched your videos on Rosacea, sensitivity, just about all of them. What are your thoughts?

  • @onlyonewendywu

Used Soolantra for pistular and pustular facial rosacea a few years ago ( before this insightful video) with phenomenal success! I got results after 2 weeks, then a slight decline, but then continuous improvement. I stopped using it after 12 weeks as all symptoms had gone and even the redness much better. I hadn’t realised I ought to have maintained use of the cream even though I was no longer symptomatic. Consequently, due to stress and being peri-menopausal, I think it’s returned and is also around my eyes, on the eyelids too, so have recommenced usage of the cream all over my face, eyelids included. Thank you so much for talking about this amazing cream! 🙏🏼

Dr. Dray - I just LOVE your videos and really like the fact that you are thorough and scientific in your informational video blogs !!! I had oily, sensitive skin for years......now that I am a bit older, I have mild-moderate rosacea with the corresponding "white head" pustules and red-pimple like lesions. I had been a skin care "junkie" for years....trying all kinds of "facials" and have spent a fortune on useless (and probably harmful - certainly not helpful) "spa line" products. I am in healthcare myself, so I wanted to approach my skin in a more scientific manner, so I went to a dermatologist and am using Soolantra now. My question: I was previously prescribed Finacea Foam (azelaic acid 15%) - - can one be used once a day and the other Rx used once per day ((morning = azelaic acid. night= Soolantra) ? I would appreciate your feedback on whether these two prescriptions can be used alternately. I would love to be your patient, too !! Last question: what is your opinion on "facials" having any benefit for my skin type (I never had much luck.....and always looked far worse afterwards = very expensive, too). Keep up the great video work and I can't wait to hear your comments on the above......:)

Thanks once again for another great video. Please could you let us know if it is ok to use on the face at night topical Ivermectin (Soolantra), then in the morning apply topical Metronidazole (Rosex)? Also, are there (academic?) studies which demonstrate the combination of these 2 medications in this way? What other precautions should we take if doing this? This would help a lot since there are some practitioners who are advising the use of these 2 drugs in this way. Big thanks in advance.

Thank you so much for your videos Dr Dray! I've been recently diagnosed with papulopustular rosacea. It's weird I have had dry, sensitive skin for 4 years but when I moved back to Portugal, from 2 years in the UK, I started to get bumps immediately. It seemed I was allergic to my own country! It has been quite a battle...my dermatologist didn't point me in the direction of caution with ingredients, and azelaic acid and niacinamide. I am learning that with you thank god! She did told me to apply Sesderma C-vit fluid "to help with sensitivity and dehydration" and I'm not very sure on how safe that product is for my skin... Can I ask you something? How can I deal with the eye symptoms ?! Rosacea really affects my eyes, if I cry my whole eyes will get swollen to the point of me not being able to open them. Are there any info specific for ocular rosacea? Thank you, I really wish you the best in life!

My husband has what I would consider a little bit more than a milder form of Rosacea. He has been applying Prosacea Homeopathic Topical Gel for a little over a month. It seems to be working pretty well for him as other options were a little pricey for us at the moment. He uses it every other day because it sometimes feels "tight" and what I think he means is it can kind of dry him out. It seems like he has break outs a lot when he is under a copious amount of stress and anxiety from work. Thank you for sharing your knowledge on the topic, it helped me better understand a little bit about what he is going through. I'm just hoping our porcelain skinned little red head doesn't have to deal with it later on in life, but unfortunately you never know. Have a great evening!

Hi if following a treatment with solaantra and azelaic acid that works wonder for me, but leaving in the sunny Spain... With the summer coming, except using uv protection and avoid those products during the day as I will be in the beach, can I continue at night + hydrating cream? Or do I have to stop in summer? Real appreciated 👍. Best wishes from here.

My Rosacea really only flares up when I drink alcohol or I do a high intensity workout. Would this really be a sensitivity to the demodex mite? I asked my Dermo this question and she blew me off because she wanted to keep me on Soolantra. (yes, I know I could just stop drinking alcohol and working out intensely, but that's not going to happen).

Are there any contraindications for a patient on topical Ivermectin? I'm a medical aesthetician and have a patient who just started using the product. Do I need to adjust her home care routine? I know with most of the treatments I perform, Acutane and Vitamin A are always contraindications. I'm just trying to find out if there is a list or protocols for treating patients on Ivermectin. Thanks!

I am loving you videos so much. I was just diagnosed with papulopustular rosacea two days ago!! I was already using tretinoin 0.25% three times a week but was prescribed Azelaic Acid 15% gel along with Soolantra. My question is I don't know what order to use the Soolantra or the Azelaic Acid along with my tretinoin any advice in what days or orders to use these products? My current skincare in the AM is rinse my face with water, apply Azelaic Acid gel followed by moisturizer and spf. In the PM my skincare routine is Oil cleanse, water based cleanser, Tretinoin or soolantra depending on the day, followed by moisturizer. Is it safe to use soolantra during the day and do I have to use soolantra every day? TIA

I used soolantrait for 4 months after 6 years of suffering and had my rosecea disappear nearly overnight, after week of use my skin and redness had improved dramatically. I had to stop using it during pregnancy and I'm struggling again after 2 yrs of not using it, I'm looking to start using it again... it says for cutaneous use... What does that mean? Thank you 🙏🏾

Hello Dr. Dray, I love your channel, I have learned so much from your videos so far, you are pretty much the only source I trust! I have been doing an anti-mite treatment for the past one and a half years with topical Azelaic Acid, some sulfur cream and oral Metronidazole. My skin looks worse than ever, very red and flaking, despite using thick moisturizers and sunscreen during the day. I suffer mainly from erythematotelangiectatic rosacea, is it possible that this treatment isn't right for me? I mean, after so much time I should have seen some improvement? Thank you so so so much Dr. Dray! ❤️❤️❤️

Laetitia Lalila my dermatologist prescribed me Soolantra when I started having papules and pustules. I’m 49 and premenopausal. My skin got wretchedly worse and kept getting worse on Soolantra. I went off Soolantra after 3 months, changed my skincare and my skin did a 180. No more P&P’s except a tiny one every so often. I feel your pain and frustration.

Thank you for talking realistically about drugs. What's worked the best for me is not "bothering" my skin with things that cause pastules, i.e. the most gentle cleanser I can find. Cleasing, even just water, is the worst part. My skin would be better off without cleasing, but I have to take off sunscreen!!

Hi dr Dray. Very useful info as always. I don't have resacia but I was prescribed Soolantra by my dermatologist after a had a very bad reaction to a chemical peel. It was in a combination with a cortison cream (in the evening and Soolantra in the morning for a week). Not sure whether it is really used like this but it really helped. However in Belgium with a prescription it costs 33 eur. I am completely shocked at US price. Thank you again and have a great weekend!

Glad to hear it helped! Yeah, our prescription drugs are cost prohibitive because unlike other countries we dont cap drug price., Therefore the pharmaceutical industry picks the price, and they pick high because money is to be made, rather than considering patients

Thank you for reviewing al these products for us. I was wondering if you had tried the relatively new Korean skincare line Pyunkang Yul. I’ve recently visited their clinic in Kangnam and the products seem really interesting: no fragrance, and a very short ingredient list. I was especially curious about the Balancing Gel, which is not a moisturizer, but a last step after moisturizer meant to lock in water in your skin. The concept scares me a bit, because intuitively I want my skin to breathe. Your thoughts on this would be really appreciated. I think Iherb carries this line.

  • @raluko1111

Yes, I am aware of the difference. The reason I have asked about Pyunkang Yul is because this Korean clinic is also developing drugs and homeopathic remedies, and just like Galderma has added some cosmetic products to the Differin line, they’ve released Pyunkang Yul for people suffering from atopic dermatitis. At least that’s what their brand touts and I was curious to get your take on the ingredients in their products. Thanks!
