The Soo Locks, in Northern Michigan, allow ships to travel from Lake Superior to Lake Huron where the water level is 21 feet lower. In order to continue traveling to the ocean a whole series of locks drop you a total of 600 feet. It was great experiencing and learning about the Soo Locks.
