    Thank you, Jason. Great, very informative and useful video! I am a long time Nikon user. The tutorial was a great way to get to grips with the Sony ZV-1 II very quickly, especially as I was not familiar with the Sony menu in detail. Looking forward to more detailed videos on your channel. Thanks a lot.

    Jason - maybe you could consider making a brief video on the specific settings / camera position/ for KZread Shorts - this camera has multiple settings so which would be the best settings for vertical videos or is it simply just a case of turning the camera into the vertical position and recording for up to one minute ?

  • @Jason_Hermann

    Yes, you just need to turn the camera vertically and use AUTO Mode if your not sure what settings to use. I'll see what I can do in the future, but I don't have the camera in hand anymore at the moment...

    I've recently been considering purchasing a camera with the goal of using it for vlogging. I've noticed some bloggers using some elevated footage as Broll in their videos and really like the idea. I'd like to know, for the second generation body, was the HFR feature removed from the first generation body? I'm wondering if this will have some impact on vlogging, especially when adding some elevated shots. Based on your experience, would you recommend that I purchase a Gen 1 body or a Gen 2 body? Thanks!

    Excellent video thank you so much. I am going in to buy one tomorrow. So you can’t post the video or image straight to social media from the phone. It has to go to your phone or your computer? Will there be any loss of quality through the process? In another KZread review they said the video record time was only four minutes, that her camera stops recording at four minutes and overheats. is this true?

  • @Jason_Hermann

    @Jason_Hermann

    You can share from the phone if you copy the files over and the quality depends on how you have the camera set. You can copy over raw photos or have the camera convert them to lower res jegs which is what I usually do. Video is harder, because phones struggle with the formats, but in theory if you have a really powerful phone video should work also.

    I have been using this camera for about 5 months now and I am having an issue with lighting. I film in a room with abundant natural light, which looks fantastic when I am looking directly at the camera. However, when I am demonstrating exercises or moving around, the camera will get very dark and underexposed. Sometimes I look at the camera to "recalibrate" it before I start demonstrating the exercises, but as soon as I look away the exposure changes drastically. I have it on intelligent auto mode, which could be the problem. If you have any insight on this I would appreciate it so much!

  • @Jason_Hermann

    @Jason_Hermann

    2 ай бұрын

    Yeah this is a tuff situation if the lighting is changing in the room especially. What the camera is doing is balancing the exposure with the given scene "automatically", with facial priority also, so that is why when you are close it looks great on you, but when you get farther away it is averaging the exposure for the entire room. What you can do is set the camera to manual mode and dial in the given settings so it looks great, and then nothing will change as you move around the room.

  • @FlexAbilitiesLLC

    @FlexAbilitiesLLC

    @@Jason_Hermann Thank you so much for your reply. I will have to play around with the manual setting again. I tried setting it to manual and getting the exposure right, but it kept doing the light-to-dark thing when I turned sideways or transitioned to the floor. I am starting to wonder if I bought the wrong camera or if I just need to learn how to use it the right way. 😬

    @@FlexAbilitiesLLC You need to take the ISO off Auto and hard set it to like ISO 100 for example in manual mode. If you leave the ISO on Auto it will adjust the exposure as it changes, so you need to hard set it. Full Manual mode is required and you can do it! I would start at ISO 100, Shutter speed at 1/50sec and then the Aperture you can dial in until the exposure is at 0. I would start there and your aperture might end up being f/4 or possible f/8 even, but it depends on the light in the room.

    Hi - i just bought this camera for my daughter. She is going on a trip to germany tomorrow. One thing I can't figure out is how to have the background defocus setting to default to CLEAR. It seems to default to Defocus. This is not what she wants. She has to click the defocus C1 button every time she turns on the camera. Is there a way for this to be the default setting? I do not think she is going to remember to change this setting every time and thus not get the video she is hoping for. Thank you!!!

    Hello, You can take the camera Off Auto mode and use Aperture Priority mode set to like f/5.6-f/8 for example and that will do what you are asking. The clear and defocus feature is just changing the aperture for you basically, so you can override it by using aperture priority mode or manual mode if you want to go even more advanced.

    Any idea why the display on my ZV1-II will not function when it is closed against the body?

    No I do not have any idea why that would happen, sorry... I would give Sony tech support a call on that one. Have you tried removing the battery and putting it back in? That sounds weird!

    hey great video, but I couldn't find what I was looking for I bought the Sony ZV1 Mark 2 camera a few months ago I'm totally disappointed with this camera, largely my fault for the lack of knowledge, I can't configure the camera to record a smooth walk video with colours vibrant and with clean and sharp images, every video I get with this camera in the auto focus setting is horrible, images without sharpness seem like the image freezes sometimes, if I move my gimbal a little, people's faces look horrible, looking like the from movie the ring, could you tell me a good configuration of this camera for a walk video, a virtual tour with a gimbal or a course that shows how to use this camera, because at the moment my old mobile s10 plus is doing a much better job than this camera , thank you very much
