Or back light issues up to dead spots and dying out which OLED does not suffer from by not having a backlight? LCD has issues too. Oled is just superior. ..and worse battery life? Good Job Sony! You are getting more serious in this Smartphone game. But here are some boxes you need to tick, in order to beat the big boys. ◻️ Better placement of the Fingerprint. ◻️ 128 GB Standard Storage (or at least an option) ◻️ 6GB of Ram (Globally) (or an option) ◻️ Slightly bigger Battery. ◻️ Top 3 best Smartphone Camera. Bonus: Headphone jack. I hope the XZ4 will have at least some of these ☑️

Sony doesn't need 6gb of ram. There phones are very well optimized and are faster then oneplus. They also do very good on battery life.

The fingerprint scanner is right, i dont get what is the problem, i hold my phone from the base. 6gb is just for east Asia probably due Samsung and Apple's demand. 3 cameras for what? Dual cameras like the XZ2P yes, but 3? Telephoto produce darker pictures.

Nice upgrade looking forward big fan of sony so lets see...

The S9 also has a single camera, the only benefit you could have with two cameras is in the low light department as they do with the XZ2P, and that makes sense that this dual camera setup is not in this phone, as if it was the case, it would have meant that this dual camera setup will also be in the next Compact, which is a very difficult thing to make due to size limitations.

If Samsung can ticks so many boxes and still can keep the headphone jack, Sony should too. Specially when they lack so many features like dual camera, bigger battery and not to mention a pen.

No. Most people are not bashing. Sure a few are but that happens to any device. What mostly is happening is what always happens on any Sony page. All the Sony fanboy fanatics sworn in and claim how superior it is to everything else. ..and if anyone says anything about a factual issue or a legitimately better feature or device.....or one little thing that's not even bad but is not praising Sony then all of you fanboys sworm and attack them. It's a good phone. But still lacks common and basic things. Offers nothing over the competition except a string vibration. And is severely over priced for it all. The xz2p and more xz3 have dethroned the pixel 2xl as most over priced android phone. And despite it lacking other things and being so severely over priced it's too thick with way too small a battery capacity for such a size and price.

I'm a XZ user and i dont need a new phone XZ doing everything fine for me but after 2 years this smartphone really attracts me. If this phone have 43 mp new sensor i would pre order immediately.

Like usual from a Sony user and fan, nice good move oled by jdi, but and as I said about xz2 and xz2p, we neeeeeeed bigger battery capacity, 3,5 mm jack !!!!!, better fp emplacement, the dual camera sensors and of course nice headphones, also good price. Then u will rule the market again ! Try to listen to consumers, learn to listen to consumers, that what others brand do !

Samsung users should learn from Xperia what a smartphone means .

Just bought this, and i am in luuuuve with my Sonh XZ3

A phone doesn't exactly need a dual camera setup. Though having 2 cameras can be better than 1 we shouldn't stick to the norm "the more the merrier". Remember pixel 2 has a stand alone single camera setup but it produce incredible pictures and was highly praised it also matches well with iphone and samsung. In the camera setup of the phone what truly matters is how it can produce an incredibly quality picture.

When the review comes for the Sony Xperia XZ3 ?

That's why I'm a Sony user. Build for quality, 2 smart phone giants fighting to suck people money with minimal notches on there flagship and still all the same. Sony innovative for precision to quality.. My phone still alive ultra, xz and soon xz3 coming.

Can you tell me if the camera app is like the LG one? I had a M4 Aqua and I was pleased with the pro mode, but when I got a LG G5 I loved even more the "pro" mode of the camera, it gives me way more freedom to mess around and I really wished I had this freedom with my sony.

I've been Sony for The last 7 years. Switching to the note 9 because of features and capabilities that suits my daily life. Sony lost me and falling behind sadly. Many phones are fast these days, waiting 0.63seconds longer is not going matter. Put photos side by side from every top range phone then take away the brand, no one (average user) is going to tell the difference or even care. Not once I got a compliment of the quality of the photos on my Sony phones. Any phone can arguably do the same

Watching this with my xa2, they look quite similar..im quite happy with my phone,I jumped from my old Xperia Z3 to the XA2 and always used Xperia phones.

Mate, can you or someone here pls tell me if android 9 pie on xperia has the gesture navigation? Cuz I'm freking out! I love that and if it doesn't have it it will be such a shame

Sony has always had fastest iteration of Android with great features. I'm going to wait on xz3 with snapdragon 855 as the 45 is already old.

Still there is many missing : 1- It has to be 6 GB ram 2- Also 128GB Storage options 3-Could be more thin 4- screen could be less frame (no need to Brand name under the screen)

I happen to like the sony brand on the front it helps me with oriontation of the phone

Literally I only left Sony because of the headphone jack removal. That xz3 would only need that and I would have bought it on release. For now I'll stick with my v30

Where did Android P gesture navigation go?

For those who still doesn't know, Sony's xz3 Oled display it's made by Japanise Display, and Panasonic, with injected impression, not evaporation as samsumg (wich is cheaper). First RGB 10 bit rec 2020, the first in it's class. Not these lg poled or amoled 8 bit noticeable lower quality compared to this one, xz3 even has Master sense technology, Triluminos, Xreality and HDR upscaling technology. Thank you sony for comming back, we always believed you could do this and so much more, as apple said, we got inspired by the best SONY, so guys at least me, i'm getting the xz3 and the future xz4 premium.
