It's just that people in eastern Europe are not as fake. It's also hard to get excited about a mediocre phone anyway.

"it lags when it reached 10%" stamina mode kicked in, of course. the XZ3 Stamina mode must be configured to restrict phone performance in favor of battery life when it's low on power. Try again, mister.

@@HoiSourced did you owned xz3? I come from note8 and note9 to xz3. Here what i can say: Fingerprint sensor is in bad position,but after 5 days u dont have problems with that. Holding it in hand is amazing feel. Display is crazy,camera also,its 2 times faster than note9.It comes with 9.0 out of box. Battery last you whole day no problems while note9 not. Only things i found not good for me when i bought it is no hp jack,i wish little bigger display and is a bit slippery,so you isheep,smsheep and what kind sheep u can be, dont judge book by his covers coz u never seen xz3 and i wont talk about using it coz your comment here is all oposite what xz3 is.

@@aplusk3081 If lowlight camera is important to you XZ3 is not for you. Otherwise, everything else is the best in the mobile world. Screen is the best OLED you can get in 2018 (probably the XPERIA 1 will be the next king of screen). I don't have any lags. And after many updates, side sense that nobody mentioned is now good to use. So this is nearly the best phone last year.

It's not fair to criticize Sony for not putting a 4000+mAh battery in a 2018 phone. Up until the Galaxy Note 9 Huawei pretty much was the only main competitor to put a 4000mAh battery in their smartphones.

@@rharris9986 my friend has a Sony xz1 and his battery started being a garbage after a year. Though I am currently unsure whether the battery is bad or he ruined the battery by trickle charging and charging way too often.

I don't believe in this talk about "lag fest" when XZ2 is working like a boss, so no way XZ3 is going to start lagging 😁

Its not the same quality review as the other GSMArena guys, but I hope Vlad gets better. He's sadly a bit monotone and rushing his lines. If you can't enunciate with your tone if a feature is bad or good then instantly read the next sentence it doesn't really give us time or clues to process it. Its a rookie mistake, and seeing his face cam at obviously a 1080p source instead of the B-Cam's 4K I can tell this wasn't GSM's A game. Best of luck in the next video Vlad, but I'm gonna click away now. Making videos is hard. Very hard. If English wasn't your first language its even harder. The first way to correct this is to rewrite the script because its obviously written for reading on a webpage not written as a script to use on a "Piece to Camera". It needs to use more simpler vocabulary that feels more natural in conversation. Think about it. This whole comment doesn't work as a KZread script because of the big words and once you can't keep up with your script while reading it you lose the ability to pause and show how you feel about the words you're saying.

I own XZ3 for a 6 months every day a lot!! Actually watched this video as well.. I love this phone it has great Oled HDR screen (Better than Note 9),nice stereo speakers, superb build quality and it fits so nice in hand.. Superfast as well.. I can't complain at all!!! And I didn't have any issues with lagging so I don't know what is this guy talking about 🤔.. Another great feature is Dynamic vibration system (from playstation) and its something new and interesting.. You have completely different view on videos, games.. I think its amazing piece of machine.

Now Sony is giving notch free screen unlike from Samsung

I have to agree with some of the coments, my xz3 works super fast and never lags even a little bit. All apps start very fast, esspecially camera which is great when I want to capture the moment

Sorry but the moment I hear "lagfest" I had to disregard whatever you've said. Also SONY are the quickest for updates behind Google. They're quicker than any other OEM on the market. My XZPREMIUM is running the Feb security patch. That's a nearly 2 year old device running great.

Sold my old Galaxy S9+ as i was disappointed & underwhelmed by it's: 1. Seemingly not so wide-angle front & rear camera 2. Weird yellow/purple hue when on low-light (both cams) 3. Poor selfie camera (everything about it) After all the software updates...would you say the XZ3 is much improved vs the S9+ or old Android flagships? Or is it being hindered by the software? Are we still receiving monthly security updates for the XZ3? Would love any advice or thoughts please. Thanks.

It's not always about how large the battery capacity is, but about how optimised the system is. I get 6+~7hrs SoT. I hit over 8hrs once and I game and watch KZread videos a lot.

Does your phone have touchscreen responsiveness problems at the corners? I also have non-responsiveness when i turn the screen on in some cases and I have to turn the screen off and on again. In some apps after turning on the screen i have to hit the home screen, otherwise the app doesnt respond...its such a pity..and it drives me nuts when im driving and i need to look at the map or do something, it is dangerous. I have used Sony exclusively since 2013, I hope the Xperia 1 will be better or a software fix will become available to the xz3.

I've been using my Xperia XZ3 for 4 months and I didn't experience any lag doing some multi tasking or even playing heavy games. Yes, the position of fingerprint scanner is the worst thing Sony did to this phone but you'll get use to it after 3 days of using. Battery life is very good. Screen is awesome.

I am a Sony Fan..and I didn't like the way he reviewed the phone..he clearly hated it..ugh..

I'm not sure what's going on with your unit, but my XZ3 which I've received in October, is always up to date in terms of security patches, and I'm yet to find any UI stutters or lag. To be honest, my other phone iPhone 8 Plus is slower than XZ3 in tasks, and it's on 12.1.4. I haven't experienced any ghost or random screen touches either, so I'd say yours is a faulty unit. I'm not a Sony fanboy, and I do agree with quirks, starting with the small ones (no gesture based menu) to big ones (still no camera 2 api support) so no gcam or filmic pro support.

I find this design language very appealing and the bezels are really nice, alot of people prefer this look.

I have an XZ3 and I don't have any of the problems you have stated in your review. The UI for me is lag free and the phone performs wonderfully. My phone before this was a Pixel 2xl and this is light years ahead of that phone for performance. The only thing lacking compared to the pixel is the camera. I don't feel you are very interested in Sony or this review. I think the only thing average here is your review not the XZ3!

I haven't had any lag issues but the volume button kinda sucks although dropping it didn't help but the case saved me, lol. Pictures are awesome and I also owned a iPhone X and it just beat it out completely except iTunes is hard to get away from when you been using it as long as I have

Things I like - 1. Bezels is not a bad thing. Depends on how you implement it, whether it's notch, dot or bezel. My preference is slim bezel, good multiple sensors, dual mono or stereo speaker on front. Things I didn't liked - 1. The fingerprint sensor placement isn't good. 2. No gesture navigation(it should be good also). 3. Even when UI is lightweight but still isn't snappy as seen in the video, why? 4. The app viewer/task manager is outdated. 5. They provide a 5V-1.5A charger with the phone, even when it supports 9V-2A charger, compared to redmi note 7 pro, they provided 5V-2A charger, a charger normally available out there, which I don't appreciate either as both devices support 18W chargers. As you can see most of the bad points I mentioned are software related. Why? Just to show you that Sony doesn't provide anything for their brand name, except maybe the camera app. They have to stop going on the Apple path or they will derail as well. PS - The camera test wasn't extensive which I didn't liked, so please don't do that again, @gsmarena.

5V-1.5A charger is included to help the battery last longer, faster charging increases heat and also makes cells inefficient at being charged. Slower charging ensures all cells are optimally charged...hence better battery performance.

If the phone heats up, put it in a fridge, lol. They gotta make better batteries then, not slow charge the batteries 🤦

Guy complains about 10% being laggy. That's the battery stamina mode. You can turn it off although sony is nice enough to put that shit to notify you about the battery.

I'm a long time sony user and that is not true, Samsung phones slow down over time and i know that and also seen that as i owned Samsung but no...sony phones don't do that....can't say about Samsung phones that use the snapdragon processors though, because I've only used the exynos version and those do get slower over time.... Ok let me tell you something, remember Samsung Galaxy S5? That phone has the same specifications as the sony Xperia c4 or better specifications than the sony,i also own a sony c4 and tell you what i can play PUBG on the Xperia c4 without any lag on lower settings but even on lower settings i can't play pubg smoothly on Samsung Galaxy s5 and that was a flagship phone but the Xperia c4 is just a low range phone with a mediatek processor and 2gb ram and also that phone has no lagging issue in terms of usage... That's just an example of a low range device that costs about 150 dollars or so...just think about what their flagships can do....

Sony phones are always two steps behind their competitors. They will put a 2x optical zoom to their cameras when the others wiill have a 20x...

If it's not as fast probs because of 4gb of ram instead of 6gb norm. But does the job well

I have this phone. I'm thoroughly pleased with its features and performance. however, the camera sensor has failed on me not just once, but twice. If it fails again I'll be sure to get something from the likes of Samsung on Huawei.

Guys.. These phones really are among the best if you plan to use a phone for 3+ years.. Majority of the people who use sony's praise them for smooth performance, great display and a great camera (low-light isnt the best but gets the job done). U guys should really consider sony users opinion rather than relying on certain yt channels who like hating them..

Comeon dude, you are yelling that the phone is totally crap. But it's not. I never felt lag issues until February 2021 with my xz3. Battery life is good with pubg as well. Simply your review is pointing us not to buy. Don't do this

Guys,for those who said that samsung note 9 isnt as good bcuz there are two variant.Which is Exynos or the SNapdragon variant.Most of the world gets the exynos variant while certain region like the U.S gets the Snapdragon.The Snapdragon variant is the same as sony xz3 but the exynos variant is seriously bad .I still love sony more than Samsung

This is kind of a bland review about the best phone available right know, after Xperia 1 of course. The conclusion baffles me: basics are exactly what are right with Sony and not with some other manufacturers. The most important smartphone basics are fluid operation, reliable battery life including stand by, long lasting device including battery endurance and necessary software features to help you use the phone more efficiently. Sony is a pro in all of these things and others are not that much. Quality of camera, screen and other things come second and Sony is very good with those too, albeit competition is better, but they are lacking in the basics.

I have to disagree with a lot of things. First, the so complained fingerprint sensor. The position is ok, is just how you are used to keep your phone in hand. Maybe if you have long fingers, it's not ok. It doesn't have gestures for a reason, it's on their forum. I use the device from October, no lag, even with less than 10 % of battery. Samsung S8 it's lagging, but not a Sony XZ3. I have more than 15 apps open all the time. The battery life sometimes is better than a 4000 Mah Huawei or Xiaomi, because like on Pixel3 is very optimised. Sorry, but for a review-er you have to put yourself in a neutral standing point.

Some people just want to hear what they want to hear. This phone doesn't seem to meet up high expectations as a flagship phone. Would he just pretend to like it? It's his opinion. Watch other reviews of this phone then make your own verdict.

Why are you still solving the bezels, I wonder? Sony has clearly said that they will not go the way of notch or hole in the display, but they will still have bezels, deal with that. Do you understand that Sony doesn't want to be like everyone else, then all phones would look the same, now there is no difference between Samsung / Huawei / Honor and more, all the same. I have XZ3, it's great smartphone!

I really don't mind Sony products if the software isnt bad, from the outside it looks close stock, performance wise it isn't close to oxygen OS or stock Android by any chance at least that's what I feel with X Performance before I change my phone to OnePlus 5T

Did people really expect this phone to get a good review?

The smartphone would be perfect with a proper-positioned fingerprint sensor and a flat and non-curved screen. Unfortunately, Sony always have to mess with something....

I donno about Sony xz3 but you really upgraded your performance. Good review.

My xz3 had never lags or something like that, always faster and fluid. The whole presentation can not be understood. The review does not coincide in any way with my experience. Bad report. Why should all smartphones always be the same? This was not particularly neutral.

I have the XZ3 and am preparing a review on it. It's one of the best performers of the year and your review is absolute crap. The only issue that I had with the device was the post-processing of the camera which is still bad. Other than that, the phone kills it in every segment.
