Bought a replacement battery. It arrived today. Only now looking at the full procedure. You know what? Having to recharge it once a day isn't so bad. I'll take some more time to mentally prepare for the job. 😅

This looks ridiculous hard job compared to other phones. Damn sony! :o

The glue they use is extremly soft what makes it far easyer than other companys phones That are opened via Display, too (except of iphones which are my favorite repairs😂)

Never have I seen a more complex battery replacement procedure. Just shocked.

Thanks for the tutorial, I successfully replaced my phone's battery this way! A tip for others: the glue strip along the edges of the screen is only 1.5mm wide, and behind the LCD screen is a very fragile reflective sheet of foil that is easily damaged. So make sure not to wedge your plastic card in deeper than you need to, when you are removing the LCD screen. I did, and damaged the reflective foil. The screen still works but you can see smudges along the left edge. The phone works great though, so I am happy overall.

Just followed this guide to replace my screen and camera; super happy it all works again! :D Very helpful guide; thank you! It honestly wasn't too bad when you take it slow .. and you need to be very-very careful with the screen's flex cable. (I was only supposed to replace the camera, but in the process I managed to make a tiny tear in that flex cable 😅)

Do you know by change where the backlight fuse might be? All other models suggested to look for a v sign on top of smd, but can't find it.

Why you don't use liquid(basin) to softens the glue🤷‍♂️

Thanks for tutorial! Damn Sony for only 2 years updates on a flagship phone. But anyways, still considering to fix it, still very usable as a backup phone, and there's a fairly recent custom rom so could be nice to geek out a little.

What about thermo paste? looks like the old one dried out, so is it worth to replace? I would. all in all, thanks!

Unfortunately a lot of phones put their batteries under everything else. 15 years ago you could take the back off a phone and swap the battery immediately. That's progress for you

I read something about NFC antena on battery. Isn't NFC part of the battery?

Телефон подготовлен к показу. Т.е. уже до этого был вскрыт. Самое простое доказательство: обратите внимание на дисплей с внутренней стороны после отклеивания. Весь в отпечатках пальцев, т.е. его уже трогали. На самом деле телефон так просто не вскрывается и очень легко повредить дисплей.

Если руки из плеч растут, то все прекрасно вскрывается. А что до отпечатков, то х.з. что с ним до этого делали, но на момент съемок он явно был хорошо проклеен.

After disassemble, XZ1 Compact will loses its waterproofness. even with new adhesives.

If u have a phone that is a little damaged around the screen puting it back is very hard and it will never fit perfectly, saying by experience

My battery has probably swollen, but idk if I want go through all this myself and this phone I bought was very expensive.
