Yes that is good, just wishes that they had better cameras like 1 inch sensor and way better zoom. The night video show that it really have problems with reflexions and underpreform. If the camera system was better i would be interested, but the phone isn´t good enough to buy for a Samsung S22 Ultra user. So waiting 1 more year to see if something is worth to upgrade to.

Coming from a Samsung user, I really commend Sony for keeping this design. They don't go with the flow, making them unique. Reminds me of the first experia phones with their distinct design. 'NOT coming to the US Market'... Do Sony... NOT want to sell some of the best phones out there? Are they actually right in the head? 🤔 I mean... Things like:- - Announcing a 'Brand new' phone model, but NOT making available to buy for up to 6 months later... - Having some EXCELLENT hardware, but providing DISMAL OS/Security update life... - Said excellent hardware having FAR TOO COMPLICATED multiple camera app systems... - SERIOUSLY HEFTY price tags... And more issues besides... Sony phones COULD rise to become some of the most popular phones 'Out in the field' to rival the likes of Apple and Samsungs' offerings... IF ONLY they corrected the above issues (and a couple of others), and they COULD do it as they have what? 3 phone models (not like Samsung with their extensive A and S range phones)... Let us buy the phones SOON after announcing them, DROP the price to UNDER the 'Equivalent' Samsung, give them AT LEAST 4 years OS and a further 1 year Security update system, then, yeah, I'm pretty sure, they'll sell A LOT MORE of these phones so MORE people can enjoy such things as the great screens and FRONT FIRING PROPER STEREO loud speakers that DO make a difference in viewing content (I remember the days of my Motorola Google Nexus 6! Nice! Lots of people complain about the lower resolution; To me the 1080p screen is a pro as it helps battery life and less throttling. It'll get slightly better even with updates; as the launch software is quite agressive with throttling and such.

Don't slap on a 1080p screen and call this a flagship phone, than charge flagship prices onto it. Whoever is the lead designer or marketing team needs to be bitch slapped for thinking its a good idea to downgrade the screen.
@WallabyWinters
19 күн бұрын
While it's true that removing the 4k screen feels like a downgrade if you're coming from the V like me, I wasn't happy the V had a 4k screen in the first place. As expected the battery drain is quite high and to be honest in 90% of the cases i can't even see a difference between 4k and 1080p on this screen. So going down to 2k is a no-brainer

The reason is not that they got rid of 4k screen, but because some of them loved 21:9 aspect ratio, and most of them are shocked by the move not to a standard flagship 2k-3k resolution, but to a budget phone level 1080p screen, that is too low for a 1500 euros flagship phone.... such pathetic resolution should be on 10 VI or 5 VI, never on 1 VI....

@glebpalchin6809 the 4K screens weren't even running 4K 90% of the time. If u check AIDA 64, it'll still show 1080p resolution rather than 4K on previous Xperia 1s
Nice to see that Sony is still there💪 Perfect review 🇧🇬
I own the 1 mark V. I haven't seen the mark VI. But using 1 mark V daily for 6 months +, I can say you'll get satisfaction using that phone. It's capable of taking amazing pictures which requires your skills, not AI trickery, can take some decent auto shots but those may not be best in class though I don't find huge differences, has really fantastic speakers and great audio via the 3.5 and BT and a very stable and strong network. I'm using it reasonably with multiple push mails, calls and lots of video watching, music and photos (amateur hobby). The battery scrapes me through the day (7+ SOT). Though I do charge it for 10-15 minutes in the evening and then to 90% overnight. I normally don't post reviews, comments etc. but do read them. A ton of people criticise this brand's. But I find most of them a bit cooked and incorrect. Hence thought of putting my views in. Sure there are other brands which makes good phones, provide longer updates etc. It is your money that you'll spend. Don't ignore something just because a bunch of non users post their imaginary thoughts.

@@thedarkknight1971 I also don't understand their market strategy. It is a costly phone. So reaching out to more markets and providing better software upgrade duration will help them increase sales. But I use it and find it pretty good. Whatever updates they published, they were prompt. The 3 separate apps doesn't bother me. I love the video viewing experience. In fact I watch all my netflix, prime etc. in it and find them enjoyable.
Detailed review. Thanks. Good job.
On my 3rd Xperia, a 1 IV. I will miss the 21:9 form factor, it's such a lovely phone to hold while still having the same height as larger phones for scrolling uses. I will also miss the Alpha-style UI for the pro mode, it's something I've really grown to love on my 1II and 1IV. But if these relatively minor sacrifices must be made for Sony to continue to justify the Xperia line then I will take them, even with those losses, there's still enough to keep it unique and oh so Sony.

I agee and im still on my 5ii. They should have giving that nice 48mp double stacked lens to the 10 vi too and a normal selfie. And then with the 5 vi they should have giving a normal 80mm zoom lens again. Then it would make sense to me. The 10 vi misses the boat too in my opinion. Cant use 8mp cameras anymore these days. For the 1vi it might make sense that they use a different aspects ratio cause of the zoom machenism that maybe needs more space in the phone itself. But lets see. Im really curious of the 5 vi. I do want to save money to buy a 5 series again. Nonetheless that are still improving and now even give the 3 year os updates gives me a sense of "okay we are here to stay for a longer while" feeling. So that might be good.

Mid to tinny left earpiece speaker and full range but firing away from you bottom right speaker... 😒 As Michael Fisher (MrMobile) says - "When phones were fun".. 😏 😎🇬🇧

At 11:10 , Sony Xperia nailed that bokeh (portrait) mode, 2nd to none! The 'swirl' around the subject looks very very close to how portrait lens in a mirrorless or dslr camera would produce. Sony has the best portrait lens simulator in any phone!
OK now THIS is a true smart phone. Instead of being a fashion accessory, this one is actually useful with all the right features with no unnecessary compromises
The downgrade from 4K display to full HD is too drastic. They could've at least gone for 2K which is the flagship standard nowadays.

They did what samsung does with their phone downgrade the resolution nd bump up the price, loved the 4k display.
Hoping you can review the Vivo x100 Ultra and may be do a comparison with the x100 pro?
Well, first thanks for the excellent review. Anyway, the headline of part 4 says "Headphone jack and stereo speakers test", but you did not actually test the headphone jack, or did you?

Camera king? Bro, I once had the 1v. The only good camera is the main one. I sold mine after 2 weeks of usage, then bought Xiaomi 14 Ultra. It’s miles better!!!
A 1'' main sensor, a 1.5k screen, 4 + 5 years of Android updates like the majority of the competition, and above all, a maximum price of $1000-$1100, there, this Sony could really have been competitive. 🙏🏽
Cool video mate!
Nice traps. Looking jacked bro!
Sony did everything right except the screen resolution and price. Otherwise I'm excited about what they have to offer in terms of cameras and battery life. Especially the new telephoto macro lens. 4k120fps recording across the board. This is a win.
What's the point in even dropping the 4K display, at least give 1440p, can't see how this phone is better than 1 V other than the 8 gen 3 Anyways hope it sells, this and Redmagic 9/S Pro are the only 2 unapologetic phones rn

If there was a supported carrier in the United States, which is the most likely to pickup some iteration of this latest Xperia lineup?
1:40 Sony going from 3840p to 1080p and charging the same price is going to have some interesting results.... 😬 I do not want this smartphone to fail, but this move does have me wondering... 😶 3:08 I love headphone jacks. 👍🏾 5:20 Heavy thermal throttling when under stress? 🥵 Not good. 💀 Those photographs were absolutely amazing! 🤩 Despite the questionable decision to drastically reduce the resolution, this is the only 2024 flagship with no notch, no holepunch, but with a headphone jack, microSD card slot, and a dedicated camera button. 👑 I wonder if Sony brought back the LED notification, though? 🤨 Also, GSMArena should have tested 4K 60FPS. 🎥

1080p is a HUGE downgrade. I felt the downgrade from my Note10+ to my S21+ and that was only qHD to 1080p... we had qHD displays when they were below 5.5", now basically every phone is bigger and has a 1080p display... I really dislike that trend. qHD is the correct resolution for phones.
