At least for me, I think one of the biggest issues with this phone is the cameras auto mode. I’m not a photographer and most of the time all I wanna do is take pictures of my pets and family. I played with this phone for a little bit, and the auto mode was significantly worse than the iPhone and the galaxy phones this could be the perfect phone for the right person, but the majority of people just want to Snap a quick photo and not think about it.

I've been using the 1V for nearly a year now and even the basic mode now is toe to toe with the pixel pro 7

It is one of the best phones I have used I purchased sony Cooling fan xperia stream for this phone It is the best cooling fan ever made I play a lot on this phone, so I get amazing performance with this phone and this fan Their products are luxurious and high quality

This is my 5th and last Xperia. Got the Xperia 1V 3 months ago as well, nothing but issues. Blurry camera, frustrating Bluetooth connectivity issues ever since the Android 14 update, battery issues not charging, I've read on forums other people having the same problems. This is an excusable for a $1,500 phone. Not worth the headache.

Just bought this phone recently back in 17 November and loving it! I had the Xperia Z5 Premium and XZ Premium in the past before I went to the LG V50 & V60. I went and upgraded to an Samsung S22 Ultra when it came out but I was disappointed that it doesnt have Ultrawide Correction and automatically adding extra vividness on the photos so I went back to the V60 since it take more natural looking picture and in my opinion better camera than the S22 Ultra. I have been trying to go back to Sony but waiting for the right phone...and the Xperia 1 V was it! I think Sony know it wont be able to compete with the general smartphone market and they know they wont sell a lot so they are aiming these phones to enthusiast and fans...which I think is working for them.

All smartphones are about to change in the next few years . Battery and battery life is going to change dramatically. The European Union ruling all devices are to have user replaceable battery. All this sealed in battery will end (that's if companies want to sell into the European Union).

I've always been interested in the Xperia line of phones. If for some reason I never got a pixel one year, it would definitely be the Xperia

Yeah I ain't seen nothing about this phone. All I see on KZread adds are the samsung galaxy s24 bit I was searching a smart phone with good power that can use a micro sd card and came across the xperia 1 v and then i wanted to see reviews and came across this video so thank you. Mine will be here tomorrow and I'm pretty excited! I have the galaxy s21 as of now which is still in great shape but I'm gonna give it to my son.

That's just a US thing with Sony phones not being on carriers/networks. In the EU/UK you can get the Xperia phones on contract at any network.

Did you try to import any gcam mod (usually the bigkaka 8.4 version works great on Sony phones) to see if it impoves camera quality? Thanks in advance

Just to let you know there's a few Meta apps that I'd disable as well and restrict their battery usage. They're in the System portion of the app list.

I used to use the sony xperia z2 from tmobile and the unlocked verizon version of the sony xperia z3v. My last sony phone was the xperia 1 iii and I upgraded to the sony xperia 1 iv as my primary android phone from the sony xperia 1 iii and sold the sony xperia 1 iii. I wish there were 2 display options oled and mini led. The way I use the displays, all the of the oled displays that I use already have burn in issues and the brightness has even gotten dimmer while anything with the color white has turned yellowish. The yellowish that the oled display is similar to clear cases that turn yellow. All of the displays that I use including oled displays, I use them the way they are designed to be used without being cautious about what causes burn in when using an oled display. The 3 button navigation that I still use is burned into the oled displays and my sony xperia 1 iv burn in has half the display turn red so half the display is yellowish and the other half of the display is red from the burn in while the keyboard is also red from the burn in while the 3 button navigation is also burned into the display with the color red. I treat all the displays that I use all the same way whether they are oled or not an oled display.

Thanks for the video. I got mine about a month ago after my S23 ultra stopped charging under warranty and Samsung wouldn't send me a new one. They say things happen for a reason and I'm glad it did. This sony destroys my S23 ultra in every category. Not even close. Better display, way better speakers, I actually like the aspect ratio and fingerprint sensor on side button. Now for camera, I was hesitant to buy this phone because I heard all the stuff about how hard it was to use. All false! I am no photographer pro, I don't even have any social media nor take many pictures until now. It's not hard at all to figure out. I wish I could post some pics from this phone. I took a picture of a moving stream and lowered shutter speed to create motion blur off the water like you see all the time. It's awesome and easy to use. I love this phone. My S23 ultra is exactly where it belongs, my desk drawer

Such a great phone. The latest camera updates have been phenomenal. The phone feels so good in the hand. The rotating camera pro and video applications so you don't always have to be in landscape is amazing for me. My content beast. I have the international model

What do you mean by " international model " ? I found the 512Gb model for a great price but it does say " global version " What does that mean ?

@AlexYBITW so in the USA the model number is XQDQ62/b and it only comes in 256gb. The international and or global is XQ-DQ72 and it has the silver color included and a 512gb model. I use it on t mobile and can say it works great. However you will not get half of the 5g network bands available. Depending of course where you live, but you likely will be stuck with lte+

I'm just looking for a high res, high refresh rate display, with good processor power and this seems to tick the boxes well. Is it worth it to forgo the warranty and get the global version?

This is the first Xperia phone that is casual mainstream friendly fixing most issues. However, still expensive and not promoted enough.

And. You know. Talking about Pushing Sales. Apple/ iPhones etc are all over Netflix ETC. advertising. Even now on KZread ads. Between shows. Perhaps. Explains why they are so expensive in the UK?

How does KZread shorts and Instagram stores appear on this display? I've heard that they're usually cropped which sorta cuts out a lot of the image/video

Cropped and sometimes the content is incomplete but its only a minor issue not really noticeable 9 times out of 10

I have the pro I and video is pretty much useless during the summer time. It overheats so bad. But overall, i love it

I had a Sony Pro i and loved it for about a year, until it started running hot while vlogging. I couldn't record over 8 minutes without the phone running hot. And when is ran hot the video would darken, It didn't matter, 4k, 1080p. I did everything Sony suggested and it didn't matter. I vlog from my dining room table, same temp in my house.. I sold it and got a Pixel 8 pro, much better.

J you think iPhone 15 pro max is better buy than the Sony since the Sony is expensive as well

I totally agree. I can't but this phone in Australia unless I resort to a dodgy site that gets the phone from Hong Kong.

I bought one in Hawaii for 500 brand new one Facebook phone is amazing. Just upgraded from s22 ultra smokes that thing.

Mine got updated to Android 14 like 3 a month ago.l in the US.

I Wonder, if perhaps, Sony are concentrating on the cameras and not Enough on The Phone parts? Hence. Losing sales???

its the best phone out there. but unfortunately sony is doing things wrong in the photocamera department in my opinion. 3 words: ease of use. the rest amazing.

Go auto / basic mode. It's the best settings for handheld photo taking, and it optimizes HDR in it as well. But do remember to hold very still for low light shootings.

Sony got pressured in to going slightly mainstream with there desing on the Mark 6... I still think its a great phone though, even though it doesnt have a 4k screen anymore... wish they did QHD at least and kept the 21:9 aspect ratio. Still a buy in my opinion once prices are more realistic... £1299 for 256gb just doesnt make sense

Gonna buy 1...liking the fact it has headphone Jack and SD card ....if ppl wouldn't buy phones that didn't have it, it would hurt the pockets of these companies and they would add it back....Power 2da People 😎

I also bought the device and it replaces my beloved Xperia Pro i.For me there is no alternative to Sony.I sometimes wonder if Sony simply doesn't want success.Sony is the largest producer of mobile camera sensors and perhaps they don't want to be too much competition I don't know but it can't be the hardware or the design.

But. To reiterate. I can't get a One PLUS phone in those suppliers in the UK. Hmmm

no wifi calling is a downfall. my old xz1 compact is the only sony phone id seen with it

I've owned two Xperia phones, 1 IV and 5ii. Good phones but the camera software is a joke. The pro stuff is cool. No one uses it though. Yes, that's a slight exaggeration. Two things made me sell them. Camera Slow updates. I really wanted to like them but Pixel phones are just better in every metric that I care about.

Xperia are the best phones in the business,their not competing with any other phone company,their just keep making phones, it's not for everybody it's just made for professional photographers.phone with a camera.they don't advertise their products.don't forget most of their cameras is on every phone.

2 yrs of software updates for that price is deal breaker for me.

Are Sony available in, Vodafone. 02. Three. E E. In England???

The biggest reason people don't buy it is, 1, Price, 2, Not a point and shoot phone, need better camera skills. 3, Lousy lifetime Updates. The most expensive phone on the market and has a limited update cycle. Shows Sony doesn't stand by their product for long support. I wanted one, but because of the things I mentioned, I decided not to get it. We Can get a phone half the price with 7 years of updates from Google lol.

Not everyone cares about those. Also I reject Google due to privacy reasons. And, most phones today do not have the things which Sony has which is a jack and micro SD. Many people still want those. Coupled with the specs it has I would say it's a really great choice. Each to their own though

U cannot expand Ram on any mobile phones (i am not talking about about the gimmicky stuff called Ram boost that utilizes storage space as Ram ) Secondly yes you can install a memory card to expand your storage.

The software user experience seems to be a glaring drawback of this phone compared to some other flagship devices like Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Sony makes good phones and they have so much potential but i despise the slim design with a passion and they always make their phones slim. smh..
