Turntable starts up and needle touches down on the record but then returns to the rest, never playing the record or stopping the turntable.

Thanks for the video! I did not see a rubber washer on mine, but the grease between the 2 silver plates was a bit thin, so I put a layer of Vaseline between the 2 plates and it works again! I may eventually have to replace the Vaseline with something more durable or more permanent. Thanks for isolating the problem and the suggested fix!

You’re welcome. Glad I could help. That was the first turntable I ever worked on. Always fun to solve a mechanical puzzle.

that design is like the gear in bsr turntables

That general mechanism design is common to a lot of semi- and full-auto turntables and autochangers from the 1950s to today. I have a 1948 Emerson radio-phono whose original 78-only changer uses a very similar setup.

Any idea why mine will stick when opening but closes just fine? Sounds like a clicking noise when it sticks on the way out.

I have 2 of these sprockets and neither of them need a $.01 washer. They didn't ship with them.

Isn't the SL1200 a direct drive 'table? If so, there is no belt.

I accidentally put it on 220v, how to repair it now?

Hopefully there is a fuse blown somewhere. That would be a cheap and easy fix. Besides that, I would test the power supply transformer. After applying 120 volts to it, if it does not work then get a direct replacement transformer and try it. Hope that helps.
