Nice work man! Would have loved to hear a comparison versus Sony ECM-B10
I just got one and have it hooked up to a GoPro. The clean, directional sound is wonderful and works well with a GoPro as it is small and light.
Wish they'd do a D4 Duo-style bi-directional microphone
Very helpful video, thanks! I'm in KL now, do you know of a place maybe in Low Yat Mall that sells this mic?
Nice review, where are the links you mentioned? Thanks
It sounds really good for it’s size.
What lens are you using to vlog with?
Is this primarily focused for vlogging, voice that's close proximity?
Sounds very balanced
According to Sony Hong Kong technical support department when the a7c2 connects to the ecm-g1 microphone, it can only use analog input. If you use a7c2 with other higher-end microphones, you can use digital input or analog input. So when g1 connect to a7c2, there is no fully automatic audio leveling function. However, on other Sony camera models such as the a74, the camera can continue to use digital input and use the fully automatic volume leveling function. Regarding this issue, I sent three emails to Sony's technical support department in Hong Kong, China and Japan. Reflecting my dissatisfaction, why do the same microphone have different reactions in different camera models. I use the a7c2, a relatively entry-level camera, because I hope that using an entry-level microphone, I can adjust the volume completely automatically, without having to spend time manually adjusting the volume.
When I connect the 3.5 Jack to my Ninja V+, it won't work.
can it be flipped around for use if you're behind the camera talking?

If reversed you do need to use the cable tho
請問可以測試麥克風後方的收音效果是如何嗎 感謝
is ECM-G1 offer a fuller / better sound for ambient / wildlife sounds than built in mic on sony 7iv ? Thanks !
Nice! I'm honestly surprised by how good the a7iv internal mics. Should anyone use them in a professional setting? Ideally not. But I wouldn't exactly. call the stereo mics built in to be "unusable"

It is pretty good, I just use the internal mic for vlog but one thing is pretty annoying is wind noise…
Nice videos dude
Does it work with other cameras not made by Sony? Like canon, Panasonic, …
Please make more mic compare videos
thanks
Great review. Can i use this on canon m50 mkii with sony supplied cable?

Yes
I think the internal mics of the A7IV sound extremely good. So much so that the tiny mic with it's weird quirks is not really necessary. I actually prefer your voice from the internal mics better than the ECM-G1. Thanks for the great video.
Sir big fan
What a wide lens
Does it support ZV1?

Fast forward a yr later it's available everywhere.
I think the ZV-1 internal sounds better. Yikes.
I think if you're looking at this mic... you want to check out the AUTO AUDIO QUALITY !

Yeah I was hoping we could see it without the cable plugged into the mic jack compared to with it plugged it.
The isolation is nice, but overall, I prefer the sound of the internal mic. Thanks for the comparison
I’m buying it from Saudi Arabia and it’s for 144 sar super cheap $38
expansive
Heavy noise
I hear 15 better noise rejection and 5 quality loss…
Lmao, the a74 built in mic sounds better 🤣

It sounds fuller with no mic But the clarity with the mic is cool
