Thanks for the comment on how to change regions. I bought this so I could watch my Blu-rays and DVD's now that I've immigrated from the USA to the UK. I can confirm that the 2015 SONY BDP-S6500 plays all regions of DVD's and Blu-Rays

Hey thanks. I have a Sony BDP S5200 Blu-ray player. Couldn't remember how to set the regions. All done thanks to you. One thing to note - for me the coloured buttons are coloured differently to your remote but were still in left-right region order of A, B & C.

switched to region b the first time and it worked perfectly. then i switched back to A and no matter how many i press the blue button on the home screen i can't switch it to B again. am i doing something wrong? do i need to hold down on it for certain amount of time at a certain point? do i need to restore the player to factory settings?

Really nice video, I have yet to see Lord of the Flies, but I also hear it is really good. That PS4 is sweet, I haven't upgraded to a PS4 yet, mainly because I do more streaming than anything on my PS3, and I would do the same on the PS4, but I will eventually get it. That region free bluray player is nice. Keep it up showing different things like that.

Well I figured it out myself with my issue. I had to add the 'press the input button' before pressing the region color button. I figured it out myself and problem solved. Viola!!! Your video helped--ALOT I just had to add that extra step for the Sony BDP 1700S series. IMPUT then color button Cheers

How to convert bluray to multiregion Sony X800?

i bought tess of the d'urbervilles region 2 dvd and i want to play it. can i play it on the Sony S1500RF multi system region free Blue-ray disc dvd player? this is a regular dvd. i don't have any blue ray discs yet because i don't have a player. i want to purchase the Sony 1500RF multi system region free...

I have a special, weird problem. I have an apparently region free blu-ray player. It plays DVDs from all regions, but does not play blu-rays from other regions. Any ideas on how to solve this?

Just do as the video describes except I had to turn my player on first, then press the blue button a couple of times to set it to region B and then it was fine. Some have said they have been able to do change it from A to B, then from B to A but can't change it back to B again so it may be that you can only do this a set number of times. B is fine for me as I don't have many blu rays and most are region free so will play in whatever player with out having to mess with the settings. The button were also in different places than the video showed but still matched up with the colours and regions given.

Am I right that this and other "Region Free" Blu-Ray Players are not sold by SONY like this?

Does this work on the Sony BSP-S3500 model?

Check out the original Lord of the Flies, and the remake from 1990.

Yeah u won't be able to play Blu-Rays or DVDs with that player you have. You need a region free player to play movies from that area sorry man. There are ways to turn your regular player into region free by entering the region free codes to unlock it. You have to go online to find the ones for your player though

Same problem here with dvds

I have a BDP-S1100 Blu-ray player. it does play multi region DVDs but not multi region Blu-Rays. I've tried your suggested method but doesn't work. it does respond to any buttons when switched off. only the power button. how do I get it to unlock?

I see your post is 2 years old but if it helps mine didn't work when switch off either. I had to switch on then pressed the blue button several times which means I can now play European blu rays and hasn't seem to affect the multi region function for playing DVD's. I don't have to press any special button for DVD's just put them in and they play whether region 1 or 2.

Did you set the yellow button to zone A, and so on, or are they pre set when you get the player and they give you a list of what color is what region?

technoir78 you have to preset them yourself. When you first turn on the player it's going to go through a set up stage and let you choose which color you want each region to be once you choose that it will stay that way until you decide to change it in the settings

@@TheErickBarney I didn't need to preset this during set up. My player was already set up when I found I couldn't play European (region B) blu rays. I just turned my player on, pressed the blue button a couple of times and suddenly I could play region B blu rays. I did this with no disc in the player so that may also have helped I am not sure.

I'm using BDP-S1500 And i can't adjust volume in the remote, it is not responding please help me

Does it work on Sony BDP-S590? Did you modify your remote before using it?

Well I was so happy to see your video. I'm at a loss. I've owned my Sony region free player since March. Literally played a region 3 last month. It will NOT play my region 2 tonight. Ive gone through all the steps you said with no luck. All I get is 'mismatch between disc and player region' I have been working on this the last 2.5 hours. What is the problem??

I'm not sure what the problem is, to be honest I barely use the player any more. There might have been some updates since then that change the system. I would visit the website and ask customer service if they can help

Did you know Sony actually claims they don't make a region free Blu Ray player? This is a great video. I have this weird problem now though where most of the non-A Blu Discs I attempt to play give me a message of "There is no disc" or "this disc may be contaminated with fingertips" etc. Most of my A blu rays and DVDs I don't see this message. It doesn't tell me it's wrong region, it just says it can't read the disc or that there is no disc. I don't know what's up with it....

Nathan Watson yeah I know Sonny doesn't officially promote region three players but this player has been professionally modified to play disc from all over the world the website I put in the description is the best when it comes to that. As far as finding a player that doesn't give you an error message I recommendordering from them they make players that never give you an error message

I sometimes get the no disc message a few times which is really frustrating when you know all too well there is a disc in there. Give it a minute as it usually does catch on eventually just likes to think about it first. Never had the finger prints message though.

Well perhaps that's my problem then. I have a multiregion bluray/dvd. Ive been f**king around the last 2 hours trying to get my region B movie to play. I wss so excited to see this video post. Still not working. I'm so frustrated.

His Sony player was bought and modified by Bombay Electronics. A region A non modified player will play region A discs only. If you can solder you can buy a mod kit from rattlebyte.com and turn your unit into an ABC/0DVD player.

I'm not sure I can help you it's been so long since this video they might have made updates I would contact the manufacturer homemade year player and see what they say
