I love the way this manages to capture the feeling of a mid-2000s "my first video" montage in spite of being much more recent. That effortless sense of "I now have this device that's capable of capturing moments of my life and I'm not sure what I'm going to use it for but I am going to use it" is so very strong that it lets you forget that it was filmed in a year where it's bizarre to not have a 4K cellular-connected video camera in your pocket at all times. Such a beautiful sensation of a time we've lost. The icing on the cake is the date in VCR OSD bookending it. So simple, yet such a vibe. I know I'm overanalyzing the hell out of what was essentially you goofing around with your new-old camera, but there's something about it that brings back so many memories of 2009-2013, probably because I was doing the same thing (which is particularly funny, considering that camera is from 2008). I'm sitting here on the cusp of turning 31, but this video makes me feel like I'm double that age, reminiscing about days from a lifetime ago, when I was still hanging out with my friends and filming us doing random stuff just for the fun of it. Sorry about writing this long-winded diatribe that's probably just a result of me becoming an aging, depressed millennial. I hope that camera takes you down a path that makes you happy.

Hey thank you so much for the comment! I love that you connected so much with my video. I am only 18 years old and I’m so happy that I can bring back some old memories for you. The main reason I bought this camera is the exact reason you used to use yours, to capture memories through a real camcorder, not just a modern iPhone. Thank you again for your comment it made me so happy that I’m able to bring people back to another time in their life. One day I’ll look back at these videos and even at this comment seeing how much we’ve grown :)

I love the feel these digicams give off… what battery do you use for your cam?
@Stallzyx Жыл бұрын
Nice, I'm in the UK but found one of these at a okay price too. Gonna compare between that and some even older ones which record on tape which could be more fiddly. Was looking at the 4K AX53 but out of stock everywhere

@@vincentbaradi Thanks. Unfortunately my one seems to have a bad battery so gotta buy a replacement one for the SR45. Got a SR32 hopefully arriving today or tomorrow which I can use or test the battery across to the SR45, but the SR45 does work off mains power. I'm looking at getting a couple that have the 50x or 60x optical zoom next but even 30x is quite impressive compared to a lot. I think the 4K AX53 only has 20x optical

does it have camera shake or does it have image stabilisation?
@vincentbaradi

It doesn’t come with a stabilization feature unfortunately. It’s a handycam so the camera is strapped straight to my palm so that’s probably why it’s shaky :)
