That's because when they made the HD collection they admitted to losing the source code for the first 4 ratchet games they had to do some voodoo BS to get them running on ps3 even

0:36 Correction: PS Plus Extra tier gives you access to a selection of PS5 and PS4 titles. It's the more expensive Premium tier that gives you access to a selection of PS1, PS2 and PSP classics. And PS3 games through streaming of course.

I buy PS3, PSP and PSVita games as well.

If the Resistance series finally shows up on the PS5, I will be one happy 30-year-old boy. All I'd need after that is Scooby-Doo's Night of 100 Frights from the PS2, and my nostalgic life would be complete.

I think the PS3 Ratchet & Clank games are very underrated, so it'd be nice if they got a chance to shine. Also, Into the Nexus runs terribly on PS3, so I hope we get a chance to play it on more powerful hardware.

You can already do that second one on PC (but I understand you would prefer it on PS3). To my knowledge, the games that I own on PS3 that did not go to modern platforms, but are also on PC and can be played in 1080P 60FPS there, are GTA 4, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, and Remember Me. Anyway, I want Infamous 1-2 60 FPS, every Ratchet game post-Crack in Time to be 60 FPS (This was when Insomniac temporarily abandoned framerate prioritization).

I would LOVE to see Tears to Tiara 2 Heir of the overlord be included as a potential transfer. an absolutely amazing JRPG.

You honestly might be better off waiting for the PS6. There is official talk of it coming out within the next couple years. Sony says it'll be here before the next Triple AAA game. That way, you will be able to play all the games and not have to buy another console right after buying one.

Assuming this happens, it would have been in development for a long time, while Jim was still CEO. And the classics program for PS+ began while he was still head. I know it's popular to hate on Jim Ryan but his departure has nothing to do with this

I wish I could put my ps3 or ps2 disc into the ps5 and just play the game.

Really hope they can bring all the the sonic games on ps3 and then they will be able to compete with Series Sonic wise.

Kaz from Polyphony Digital once said that the PS3 was a PITA to develop games for. I guess that would be why we have no PS3 classics.

I'm always down to have backwards compatibility, though I'll be okay if we don't. I still have my retro consoles so if I want to play older games I still can. IT definitely would be convenient if I could play my PS3 games on my PS5 though

i am in quebec and here we have ps3 game like sly 4 and the way we have them is that we have to play them on cloud so that may be the way they will be playable wen they will get playable worldwide.

About ratchet and clank, really hope they come too. I play every game through PS+ on my PS5. Would be really nice to play all my ps3 games on a ps5. And about all 4 one and qforce. I find all 4 one more enjoyable then qforce

The bc program from Xbox is designed to package a 360 game into a Xbox One container. It's completely different architecture from PlayStation 3. For one, the Cell Processor and RSX of the PS3 were highly specialized for that console. It would not be compatible with whatever method Xbox was using, and considering they are rival companies, why would they have access to Microsoft's documentation in the first place?

It’s probably going to be something like Nintendo has with the N64- like a subscription to an emulation service on the PS4/5 console.

My PS3 no longer reads discs, so I would love for my ps5 to read ps3 games

Folklore is one of the best games made. I was surprise when I saw it at the start of the video. I still have it but I miss playing it. Personally I always seen that Sony stopped backward compatibility so people have to spend money buying newer games and re-buying old ones digitally from their online store. I presume a lot of online service games are making it difficult for Sony to make money. Also because people who play multiplayer games a lot switched to PC since they don't have to pay monthly for online play subscription if it's free on Steam. What's putting me off Sony over years is them locking up their system and having too much control over their players. If a player does something that Sony doesn't like. They can delete their account, prevent them using their console offline features and even rendering the player's own countless hour backup saves on USB useless if they make a new account. That doesn't stop a player selling their locked console to a second hand shop and having having it lock the new owner's account after their old one failed. I get why Sony disabled Other OS that allowed installing Linux - players using it to access Steam, players getting games illegally or modifying PS4 games in ways they don't like. But it's also a pain when having to transfer music, screenshots and videos. There's always going to be ways for players to jailbreak their system regardless. And there's also the fact that Sony spy in party chats now. Not much different using Discord voice chat though. Like a gaming system should have as much freedom as using a Linux system with Steam - not Windows since that has become more Adware, Bloatware and Spyware over the years. Personally I believe freedom is best on physical offline games. Since online stores we are only purchasing a temporary licence that can be revoked any time. I kinda gone of track. But I would really love to play Folklore again but rather without Sony having so many strings attached and not making their system so difficult to use. Or their system sounding like a jet engine (PS4) or poor quality GPU that fails commonly (PS3).

I absolutely hope we see more PS2 PSP and hopefully PS3 games come to modern systems never got the chance to play Sly 4 so I'd love to see that along with 2 and 3 the Infamous series all Ratchet and Clank games even the not so great R&C games all God Of War games and a series I would really like to see is F.E.A.R 1, 2 and 3 so many great games I hope that we get to at least see half of these games come to modern systems

The PS3 had 5 floating processors. It's the reason there hasn't been a good emulator for it yet. PS2 and 4 both have great emulators but PS3 has such an odd build that it's hard to replicate that without reconstructing the hardware.
