SONY A7III Cinematic Video & Thoughts After 1 Week
Фильм және анимация
I've had the A73 for less than a week but I've already shot some stuff and wanted to give you all my initial impressions about the camera, while showing you some footage I shot with it. This video contains a mix of 4K footage as well as some 120fps footage in 1080p. I also wanted to get a feel for the autofocus, and how the camera performed on the Zhiyun Crane 2.

This is actually the right way or the native-way(Italian) to pronounce "Pasta“, we the Spanish-speakers pronounce it in the same way. I didn't understand the comments before because it was so natural to me. 😅 Anyway this is about a camera we all are interesting in.

Thanks for the great video! I just picked up this camera. I will definitely purchase the LUT pack. It says instructions included! Quick question though on those restaurants and other shots, did you use a slog-2? Thanks again.

Loved it how you always make it short but still delivering the information that we needed. Keep up the great work!
First off, you're saying pasta the correct way. 2nd, I love how you're not just shooting great shots for the sake of shooting, your videos have a purpose, you're out there grinding. Very refreshing compared to people who are "creators" but the only reason they create is to get another video up on KZread. Always great to see the purpose behind the shot
I just discovered your channel recently, honestly you've got some of the best video tutorials for filmmaking, you clearly know your stuff and create nice images, where as a lot of other KZreadrs have fancy gear but lack the experience.
I will always love your slomo shots, it's always so mesmerizing! Sweet video!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who was shook by the way he said pasta.
Awesome video Daniel! Always learn something new from watching. Keep on creating!
Looks crispy

Looks Sick! Nice Video as always, and thanks again for your advice on the macro tubes. Your solution totally worked.
I so, so want to buy it but my Canada travels are holding me back. What a gem. Can't wait to see you make hte most of it man!
Love it bro! Excited to see your further work with the a7iii.
Hey Dan, this is great a great video, I love that you, just straight up, hit up the manager and got in there to shoot there machine. Love your work bro!!
Nice video! The way you make your videos is amazing, keep going dude! Cheers from Brazil!
I value your reviews over any other youtuber. Killing it!
Wow straight to the point and really descriptive! Great job!
Thanks for jumping into my live stream and being super chill. That’s was great. I subscribed to you, bud. 😁
Once again, very inspirational bro, keep it up!
I like the shots on the promo video! well done bro! 😎
Awesome man! Footage looks super clean. 👌🏻
Fantastic! Nice colour grading! Love it!
Great filming man! You really got a sense of what the camera can do but of course there is more, hope to see what you show next... I have been using the a7iii for a while now and use it to make my videos :)
Awesome daniel, i love how that camera looks on some of those outdoor skating shots. Looks super good for only using it not that long
Daniel just want to say you’re amazing ❤️
Awesome shots man! You inspire me everytime you upload something!! By the way would love some more videos on the A7 III as I'm planning to get it soon :)

Nice video Daniel, really helpful, awesome work.
I love this video. Nice work.
Another nice vid. Likely my next camera. Keep putting out great content! (even as simple as this).
Love your video so much! And enjoy learning how you shoot. The thing amazing me most is you show your previous restaurant video to the manager, and ask for making film~ It's a great lesson to me! Thanks Daniel : )
got mine a few weeks ago and its an incredible camera. great video daniel
Yeah that 120fps full sensor, full frame is the reason I'm in. Great looking film work!

This video was amazing and I definitely sold on this now of course it isn't the gear that makes the shot, but it definitely helps! thank you for your vids
Thanks Daniel for these feelings!
just did the same upgrade myself but from the A6300, I'd say game changer is definitely the right way to describe it! Also from just outside Toronto, got my sub man!

i think the modern run and gun market that youtube thrives off of shares a lot of heavy similarities to the skate film market so I think the line betwen is pretty much gone the skill sets are pretty much the same thing so Im not shocked. plus its a good tool to have for smooth dolly shot on the go

Now I gotta drive to Toronto for some PahStah! 😩 Dope Vid as usual btw
I love how Canadian's pronounce Pasta. Great stuff!
Man this look so smooth haha the whole video, wish i could work one day with you bro! Peace!!
What lens were you primarily flying on it and how did it handle highlights out in that mid day footage in your opinion? Looked killer!
Nice work!
Your videos are kick ass! Thanks for sharing those clips from your new camera, I really like the detail it retains in low light and the different lighting situations you used really put it through its paces! I look forward to maybe some more footage from it; I really like how clean and polished your filming style is, every time you upload I get pumped because I dig your creative eye. Epic stuff, Daniel! -storm
man the mic is jumping in y ears really lovely man crisp is amazing!
You have really nice videos Daniel! :)
Delicious video!
Looks fun!
Dude this is awesome, I’m persuaded to get one of these......oh pasta too!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts of this cam. Hello from Jakarta 😁
It was an Amazing Video ❤️
Looking forward to see more about the sony a7III
I want pasta now. Amazing video Daniel
Was all this shot in 120 and on the stabilizer it all looks so nice. ? Or do you just kinda pre plan your 120 shots to slow down and switch back to line 24p
Dope Shots! Still waiting to pick mine up, hoping stock gets re-filled this week.

I've had mine for 2 weeks now....I absolutely love it! Put all my other cameras on sale and consolidating around this camera. Paired with the 24-70 GM, the images are absolutely sick!
very nice man!
Great video as always! I've been using the sony a6500 for the past year and I loved it besides the screen brightness. I have to buy a new camera this month, have you had any auto focus issues with sigma or canon lenses on the camera if you have tested any? I heard the 100/120 FPS footage looks not that great, the a6500 100/120 fps footage was great though imo, so I can only assume the a7iii performs atleast as good or better?
SOOOOOO SICK Super jealous of that camera
Great information! I'm coming back to USA for 6 weeks and will probably be picking up this camera. I'm so sick of the lack of autofocus for use on a gimbal. And in need of better low light. Will probably keep both cameras though for now (share the sigma 18-35 Canon mount with different adapters). Still love the quality of footage on GH5 and 4k60 I use all the time. Really stoked after just spending 408 straight hours reading reviews on the A7iii. :)
Does that mean you gotta get rid of your apsc lenses?
Interesting point about your comparison with the a6500. Seems like the a6500 will be plenty good enough except for maybe the battery life

Is the battery life on the a6500 really that bad? I'm just starting with the rx100v right now but this fuckin battery dies so fast
@qtben17

Luke I can only compare it with what im using 5dm4, 1dxii. sony’s batt usually last me about 3-5 hrs on intermittent video shooting, in hd. Eats up more if 4k. Extra batteries are cheap and works well. Meanwhile, canons dont take generics lol
love the color of your test footage. I just sold my Canon cameras and heavily considering the Sony a7iii
Great video, thanks for sharing
Such a beautiful image
Anymore thoughts on this camera after more use? Just curious on your experience, especially with the autofocus performance you mentioned here compared to your A6500
Dang that looks like some serious quality nice work my man! I'm thinking about picking up the a7iii myself, I'm just wondering how this camera performs on the zhiyun crane! I have the first edition of the crane not the v2. Thanks man.
AMAZING
Interesting about the continuous auto focus! Clips all looked brilliant
Nice video broo, At recording studio, u using manual focus or continue focus? Fps?? 24 or 60? Thanks , jeffrey
Great stuff man! I am a sony user and have been with the a6300 for awhile now. I am still fighting for more clients and opportunities, as one of my goals is to get the A7III (oh, and not be broke and stuff)... Thank you for the content!
Hey guys! Which camera is better: Sony a7III or Canon EOS R? I use the Canon EOS R and love it. We shoot TV documentaries with this camera, it's really a workhorse. However, I find it lacking in fps. What would you say?
With the A7 being full frame, what lens(es) did you use for those shots? The crop lenses from the A6500, the A7 kit lens, or something else?
A7III its an incredible camera at any lighting situations
The footage looks absolutely stunning. Would like to hear more on the AF (vs a6500).
Nice video! Curious what picture profile/settings you were shooting with? S-Log, Cine, other? Thanks - just picked up an A7iii and am getting into film stuff and thats the one thing thats been stumping me so far. S-Log seems to have alot of value, but being new to color grading, I'm thinking I shouldn't jump right into that until I have a better grasp. Thanks for any insights.
Helpful review
Great video! Do you see yourself using the A7III as a complete replacement for the a6500? Besides autofocusing on objects, do you think there are any benefits to sticking with the a6500?
@psportraitphotography
Жыл бұрын
The autofocusing isn’t that much better. It’s slightly better. The IBIS in the A7III is a reason to change. Plus it’s full frame

hey what autofocus modes do you use for your videos. i just watched your dual handle video and noticed that it was focused on a person to the side on purpose. just wondering how you get the shots where the subject is to the side
Danny S with the fire vid.
Can you please tell me what should be my first camera to record vlogs as well as cinematic "b-roll" videos as well. If you were to start from scratch all over again, what would be your first body purchase?
Question. What ISO were you shooting at in the pasta place? The lighting is dope and it looks like it might would be a little dark in there.
Hey Daniel ! Nice edit, like always. Thx for that !! I have a quick question, i saw that you are skateboarding so you probably know well about fisheyes. I'm myself inline skater and i'm wondering if the Samyang 14mm is good enough for making edit with a A7III or do you recommend something better ?! (like the Sigma coming in July ? but this one is expensive.. for making skate videos it's maybe not needed..) Hope you can help, Thx again dude. (and hope to see you doing some tricks in a next video ;) ) Roman
in what FPS you shot? Because i usually do 24fps and i usually Slow the motions and it glitches sometimes.
Hey man great video, in comparison to the other A7III video's posted on KZread I find yours the most detailed. What were your export settings in Premiere before posting it to KZread :)?
Given an option between buying the 7aiii or staying with an a6500 and buying the gmaster 24-70 lens... which would you go with?
Just getting into videography for the first time and deciding between the a6500 or the a7iii. Is the no crop factor at 120fps enough to spend the extra money on the a7iii alone? The a6500 is at a great price point and the glass is certainly cheaper but it is also two years old which worries me. what are peoples thoughts?
