In some limited testing that I did, I found that the a6700 didn't overheat if you shoot in 4K/24 8-bit 4:2:0 at 60mbps. I ran a full battery and didn't even get a high temp warning. This could be a solution for people if they're willing to sacrifice a bit of quality and would give you similar results to an a7III anyway but with much better AF performance and no 30-minute record limit

Not a bad compromise my man. I like that solution to be honest! Doesn’t solve the dual recording unfortunately. So far I’m enjoying the a7iii but haven’t put it fully through its paces yet. Can’t wait

I'm just an enthusiast so I don't run video for extended periods. I get what you're saying. But for me, this is a beast in the best possible way. Great video.

I have had an a7iii overheat however so long as you have that screen out you'll be fine

Great questions and the image quality is insane and not an issue compared to FF, I would save the little extra cash if you don't need it for long record times. It's an amazing camera!

Great video. I bought an a6700 camera and there is a heat problem. (of course, my memory card is uhs1 v30). I need to record long videos of about two or three hours for an interview in 4k-24 format and of course 4.2.0 8bit is enough for me. In your opinion, by purchasing a uhs2-v90 memory card and according to the said format, will I still face heat problems? If your answer is yes, isn't it better to buy an Alpha A7C? Thank you for guiding me with your experience.

that's a long time at 2-3 hours, is that continuous filming without turning the camera off straight? have you thought about recording to an external monitor? changing your card or switching to a7c won't help you unfortunately

@@MattyDCCollins Thanks for the replay. I am a musicologist and for my research I have been recording long-term interviews for a long time. I used to use a Canon 80D and I recently switched to mirrorless cameras and bought a6700. I have thought about an external recorder or a monitor, but the conditions Finances do not allow me to do this at the moment. Of course, by long-term recording, I mean about two hours, after which I can take a break and start recording again. Some KZreadrs told me that with a7c in 4k-24 format, I can easily continue recording without worrying about the temperature rising. to give Thank you if you can help me in this matter.

A7iii was just on sale during the holidays for 1400 great price. However after research it appears they still have the failing shutter issue.

@@MattyDCCollins there is a issue that the shutter will prematurely break around 10k photos which is usually right after the warranty runs out. You can search online there is a lot of videos on it.

Love it man! The A7iii was my B cam for a while and it is solid man. I have nothing bad to say about it. 8 bit is completely fine because I'm assuming you majorly use it for ceremony and speeches like I did and you typically don't need any crazy colour editing there anyways.

But the A7III has a recording limit of 30 mins - that's a big bummer for me, searching for a B cam I don't have to worry about while operating my A cam.

@@MattyDCCollins I don't own an A7III. I have an A7IV and I'm looking for a new B-cam. I sold my FX30 because it was annoying for me not to be consistent with my lenses due to the crop. I was considering the A7III, but the recording limit was a bit no no. The A7C on the other hand, doesn't have the recording limit, but comes with only one card slot - with that being said, I'm still searching for my perfect B-cam :)

Hi there! Great content, subscribed! I'm in Canada and trying to decide between ZV-e10 ($900) and A6700($1900) for KZread language teaching video content, both with Sigma 16mm.. I have good lights and sound. Any suggestion on which camera I should go for? Many thanks.

Steve what’s going on man! Where in Canada you from? And what camera are you currently using? I would say you’re good with the e10 and it’s even on sale right now but if you want to wait a couple months the zve10 II will be coming out and might be the perfect value camera for you!

Hi Matty! I'm over on the East Coast in Halifax, NS. How about yourself? This will be my first camera so I'm as rookie as it gets. I've got my language teaching content mapped out, got my lights, got some mics, and just need my camera. It will be medium to long form content - let's say 8min up to 2 hours. I do have an iPhone 12 and I know the rational thing to do is just use that, but I'm a musician and therefore a gear nut and therefore I want a dedicated solution. And I'm going to go for your suggestion e10. As. you said, it's on sale now, so good time to buy. Thanks for the feedback @@MattyDCCollins

I’m gonna learn as much about this camera as I can and do a video on it but yes it’s an amazing camera for most people. Of course it depends on your usage

yes, a6700 could be a good camera but Overheating is the worst part
