Sons of Single Mothers

Visiting my mother's grave has always been something I did alone, but this time I was led by the Most High to do something different. Recently I've received an influx of messages regarding the challenges single mothers are having raising their sons. So as I was cleaning my mother's headstone, the Holy Spirit told me to share my heart with sons of single mothers. I pray this video will enlighten the sons of single mothers but also, encourage their mothers to stay hopeful and their absent fathers to be present. #SavingBoys #TeachTrainTransform

As a single mother, I thank you. And I want to remind you to forgive yourself for being a young man doing what young men do. Your mother knows this about you and is pouring love down on you.

If the fathers TRULY want to be in the childs life, than the mother should at least let the father be part of the childs life. Both need to agree to give the child the best they can, and not slander the other parent around the child. Both did the deed to bring the child into the world, so they should work together for the childs best upliftment. My mother was and still is a single parent, now raising two children by herself, and most single mothers deserve so much better. Much respect my friend. God Bless

I am a single mother 😓😓😓 4 sons... first one I had young...his daddy convinced me to let him be my first. Cheated on me and broke my heart. Years later I ran into the father of my other three. My mother’s drug addiction when I was a child masked the probability that my husbands alcoholism would be a real problem. So eventually I left. It’s been 3 years now. My sons miss him so... please pray for us...

i honestly see that u make the choices you do because you want ur kids developing without those bad examples around them. you're honestly doing what i feel is the best thing to do for your children. ur a good mother because u put them first. and u might feel like ur taking something good from them but their fathers got the responsiblity to step up and fix their problems. they are human beings capable of making descisions so they should be able to say, "i wanna see my kids so i will fix myself to become a better role model. " the first father, not much to say. maybe tell his kid, wut he done is pretty messed up and to think about the woman's feelings before doing things that mess with other people. but the one with the alcoholism needs to take a good look at himself in the mirror and decide if he wants to stay in that crappy hole he's dug out for himself with the help of bad genetic predisposition or if he wants to climb out and join society to see his children again. u did wut u could as a mom: removing them from that bad environment. i got respect for u! my aunt had a kid with her first husband but left him when his drug problem started getting more profound. my other uncle that was a cop, found him passed out on the skid row streets of my hometown. she left him because his daughter, my cousin, was unsafe in that kind of environment. she resents her mother for several reasons but one of them is for that, even to this day as a 40 year old woman. she doesn't knw that her father was that bad of an addict. she always thought her mother removed him from her life because of the money issues. it would seem like that to her because she still has no idea about the drug problem. she reconnected with her father when she was an adult and he had recovered from his addiction but now she hates him over some political disagreement. honestly she hates everyone but yea. he never really told her how bad his addiction was.

Shalom Brother. Thank you so much for sharing this. I realize you made this six years ago, but it is blessing me in this moment today. I am the eldest son who was raised by a single mom-I have two brothers. I am now a married adult with children of my own. When I was younger I had a good relationship with my mom, but as I’ve gotten older there’s been a number of issues to come up and lots of repressed anger has come out. At the moment I am not on best terms with my mom. I pray our relationship can be repaired while we are alive because it would really pain me if things were to end like they are now. 🙏🏾

Just read your comment. I am asking you to please go and make it right with your mom because tomorrow is not promised to any of us all we have is today there is no tomorrow every tomorrow is today. Talk to Almighty God about it to give both of you peace and calmness in the situation then go to your mama in a peaceful and humble way tell her you’re sorry for whatever happened between both of you, she might broke down and cry and forgive you or she might try to bring up what happened in the past that’s okay do not engaged in it just stay humble say mom I love you and I am sorry I hurt you can you please forgive me I’m not here to argue or fight with you, you are my mother and I love and respect you as my mom. Whatever she says do not argue with her because you are proving to her that you have changed and you’re not that person you use to be. If she’s not listening to you say mom I love you I see you’re not up to talking right now I’ll come back another day and we’ll try again then leave. Trust me all of that will be playing in her mind so the next time you call her to tell her you’re coming by to see her so y’all can talk she’ll be in a much softer position to receive what you’re about to tell her. I wish you the very best with your mom I believe y’all gonna be back together as mother and son loving each other. I’m a 65 yrs of age and a mother of 2 children so I’m able to speak to you like this even though I don’t know you. Take care and Almighty God bless you and the family 🙏🏽

Thank you, Ms. Regina. Your message is heartfelt and I receive it. I actually called my mom this past Friday and apologized. I was able to spend time with her on yesterday. While we have a long way to go, I was very grateful to have had the opportunity to hear her voice and give her a hug. A family member’s mother passed this weekend and it really put things in perspective even more. You and my mom are in the same peer group-I felt the loving tone in which you conveyed the message and I really appreciate you taking time to respond. God bless you abundantly. Much love

Hi Justin congratulations on you reaching out to call and spend some time with your mom that was such an honorable thing to do, this is where the healing begins, no matter what happens when you’re coming from a place of love ❤️ if will be felt, I know your mom felt the love even if she didn’t say it. Let me tell you something Love covers a multitude of evil, why? Love ❤️ sees no evil it just keeps on loving. Always remember to tell her that you love her and show her as well, randomly bring her flowers 💐 for no apparent reason or something that you know she likes just because you love her, only what you do in life will last not what you didn’t do. My mother use to say give me my flowers 🌸 now I’m alive so I can smell and enjoy them not when I’m dead I can’t see or enjoy them. When you converse with your mom try and get to know her better ask her questions like what her childhood and young adulthood was like growing up because a lot of times we as parents don’t talk about that because we’re to busy working and talking care of our children, give it a try you’ll be amazed at what you’ll learn. If she says why now say in a loving way I just want to know you a little bit more because I love you and it would be nice to know what my mother was like when she was much younger, sit close beside her with your head leaning on her shoulder. Sometimes take her or send her to get her hair done also a manicure 💅🏽 and pedicure once in awhile if you have a car take her out for lunch occasionally or take her for a ride in the car and enjoy each other’s company trust me she’ll enjoy it and remember when your visit is over always give her a hug and say I love mom. Hope this was of some help to you. Peace and Blessings Love and Light Always 🙏🏽

This just hits home. Your story is mine. This is deep brother. Thank you for sharing, and showing what it is to be a man. We hated, we cried, we had grudges. Not to late to fix our problems. Philippians 3:13 “Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."

Hey, I’m a daughter and this ministered to me. I had so much resentment towards my mother because my father was not present. But I have learned and I’m still learning to look past her frustrations to really see her heart and I know that she cares and she’s concerned about me and my brothers. Right now if something were to happen to her, I don’t know what I would do. I don’t know if I could be as strong as you. I can only imagine how you are feeling and I pray that God continues to provide peace and comfort to your heart. Thank you so much for sharing. This really is a wake up call.

This breaks my heart. Every situation is different. Some people, whether Mother or Father, aren't cut out for parenthood. My son will be 5 years old next week & I fear the day he starts to ask questions about his Father. I never kept that man from his child. Whenever he would ask to see him, I always agreed. It's going on 4 months of him not seeing his child. He'd rather be in the streets getting high & doing what other street dudes do. I tried to hold onto that relationship for the sake of my son but it was too much for me. Sometimes women have to let go ESPECIALLY if the situation is toxic. I know that I can't be the male figure that he needs & I'll always feel guilty about that but I know I made the right decision for the mental/emotional well-being of my son. I couldn't continue to watch that Man choose the streets over & over rather than be with us ...and I wasn't gonna allow my son to grow up watching that either. So it's not always women keeping fathers away, some of them keep themselves away with their behavior.

My son is 11 now. His dad chose not to be there. Now my son is 11 and his father wants to be a dad. It makes me so mad. The only reason my son it with his dad today is because of an illness that caused me to loose the ability to walk, and caused cognitive issues like memory. I raise my son 11 years by my self. now im married. I actually miss so much being a single mom. It 10x easier. The only thing i regret is working to much to make sure i was able to give to my son as much as a married couple gives to their child. I worked 12hour shifts sometime 16. Made good money. Not enough time with my son.

I am the oldest amongst my 3 other siblings. I used to hate my mom with a passion. My mom has severe bipolar disorder and refuses to take her medication she instead smokes weed . As a child my head was fucking spinning from the lack of consistency in my life. My mom was very unstable, in and out of the hospital and for 1 whole year she was in the psychiatric ward. My grandparents took care of me. That year with my grandparents was the smoothest year of my childhood. I am now 17 years old and I love my mom and help her as much as I can around the house. I was blessed to be around educated and wise people who guided me through childhood. I started seeing a psychiatrist at age 16 because someone close to me said I had PTSD though they couldn’t definitively diagnose that. I do have PTSD though and my psychiatrist recommends that I love my mom from a distance and continue to self improve and meditate.

God My God My God 💔💔💔as a single parent what my kids went through…my heart is hurting has always hurt as I said never, not me that is what happens to others not me and I did everything and anything for this not to happen…it’s still shocking and surreal working and going to school working up to 3 jobs and ppl saying (not all) that my best was not good enough physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Nobody had to ever tell me that my best was not good enough, was always hyperaware of this. I fasted, prayed, went to therapists, social workers and desperate to keep my family together. Thank-you for sharing your story and heart on this personal story. 🙏🏽♥️ Words are trite rn listening to this and the infinite gratitude, appreciation, and blessings to you, wife, family, and each and all that you are teaching. 💗

Thank you for this. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! My son is 12 years old and we had a really rough night last night. I went outside to get some air and ran across this video. Had to be divine intervention. After listening to this, I played it for him. I wanted to share something I wrote many years ago: " *My thoughts as a single mother* I see pictures on social media a lot saying, 'Proud Single Mom!' This really bothers me. I am not PROUD to be a single mother. I do not take PRIDE in the fact that my child has no relationship with his father or daily positive male role model. I am not PROUD of picking the wrong person to make a child with. Here are the things I AM proud of; I am proud that my beautiful son calls ME, mommy. I am proud that my God entrusted me with such a wonderful gift to honor, cherish, protect and above all, love. I am proud that I am able to take care of my son on my own and proud of myself for working hard and instilling good values, manners, morals and kindness into my child's every day life. I take pride in the fact that my son trusts me and my judgement. I am proud that he wants ME to kiss his boo-boo's, read him books, teach him things, etc. THOSE are some of the things I am proud of. One thing I am NOT proud of is being a single mother, because the one who hurts the most because of it is the one person I would do anything for, to avoid him feeling any pain. My son. I can teach him a lot of things but I cannot teach him how to be a man."

It's a fear of mine that the inconsistencies of his father may one day negatively affect him, therefore as you stated it is very important for single mothers to take advantage of those "step-fathers" in their children's lives. This got me right in my heart. I'm 21 years old, I hate my self, i live in a eternal depresion, sometimes i want to die, this got me crying hard for the way i interact to every person and mostly my mother. My mother over protected me but she tried the best all alone to give me what i needed. she is a controller person and now that i have changed my personality our relationship in like strangers, because i dont let her to control me but also i dont have any normal interaction for me over acting the same personality I was bullied in school and every place i went Now i try to be a man, but i dont know what it is to be one, i dont want to be passive anymore but know i'm not happy either Now i dont know if i am protecting my integrity, being submissive or being an idiot I'm lossing friends, my mom and posible girls for that. Cos i dont know what is acceptable or not

Thank you for sharing this with me. I feel honoured that you would open up the way you did for your following. I am a 22 year old male who was raised by my mother since I was six. I am learning every day how to appreciate her more and more thanks to you and many other males role models in my life. I was wondering, how do I re-connect with my father? I am afraid and upset because over the years in trying he has hurt me a lot. I don't know what to do because I have no room in my heart to hate.

Ocean Man brother reconnecting anything sometimes is a challenge, but the key is walking through the process. I had to connect with my father because we never were connected. The process was painful but in the end, before his end, we both were healed.

As the son of a single mother, and now, the father of a son, living with his single mother, we need to dive deeper into the social truth about why this keeps happening.

Shame on those who have disliked these video. Your pride will not take you far because you can’t handle the truth. Thanks Cave for touching so many sons and daughters. I’m glad to have my mother and will always thank God for her. 😭 tears 😭 watching your video with mama. You were a good son and to those who don’t have both or missing one parent God is the father to the fatherless. If you have one or two start doing what you haven’t been doing because one day you will never they will be gone and even painful if you don’t repent. obey your parents for this is right so you may have many years here on earth or anybody who is a guardian to you. To those who lost a parent or both may they rest in peace and may you be a good role model to your sons and daughters and even if you are a single mom or dad keep loving them and don’t give up; God is the father to the fatherless and mother to the motherless.doesn’t matter what your parents have done forgive them and love them and treat them right

I’m really blessed to have an amazing father in my life, my prayers go out to anyone who can’t say the same. However my relationship with my mother is rocky. I believe we are just too different from one another in major ways. However this video spoke to me to try and improve my relationship with my mom and forgive her for any mistakes she may make. Since I’ve done and said some things that was unnecessary as well. She is also going through a lot as we all are currently. I hope I can leave the house so I can lift some financial weight off her shoulders. She’s still my mom even tho we are so different. The best we can do is understand and be in the shoes of others. Thank you for this video. My your mom Rest In Peace and God bless. This video was a gem good sir.
