something about sonny boy just.perfectly resonates with its audience i feel...,we as an audience who had been set adrift along with the main cast,feel personally involved with their struggles...just my thoughts though.

this anime is a reminder to the entire anime fandom of this kind of genre. it's like FLCL, the potrayal of coming of age melancholy with cool music, this kind of story can only be done with anime.

FLCL is a 10/10 and Sonny Boy is a solid a 9/10 for me. Both shows incredibly unique and unforgettable. Both tell a beautiful story of the human condition, amidst crazy bat shit visuals and story telling.

I'm not gonna lie, I have love hate relationship with sonny boy. At some moments i thought it was too absurd for my liking but the main story was still great and the music is just ridiculously good. And I agree that anime is the only way to tell this story, that's why I like anime.

a true masterpiece, i wish i can recover from this void feeling.

If you're wondering, this track starts playing at the very beginning of episode 12, when Nagara gets sucked into mundanity.

ちょっと気持ちの晴れない雨の日に傘をさしながら一人で歩く帰り道に聞くのにピッタリな曲。 It is a great song to listen to while walking home with an umbrella on a rainy day when you don't feel fine.

Mitsume is just PERFECT. If you liked this song, please listen to "esper", "fiction" and "chimney"! They're some of their best songs in my opinion!

Hard to believe its been almost 2 years, still love this show though and listen to this every now and then

Underrated gem. Sonny Boy is my best anime in summer 2021.

I have realised my life has changed fully. before the 2020 i was this idiotic selfish kid who just played with his friends and liked those fun times and now over the course of past few years i have become this person who doesn't care about anything anymore. I have got good friends and family but spending time with them doesnt seem fun tbh nothing seems fun anymore it feels there is no point for me to continue i have become satisfied and now since the child in me has died i dont have any intention to continue. I watched this anime exactly after new years last year and felt good because of is theme but now i can understand its ending better. sry I didnt wanted to rant here but all these thoughts just came into my mind while listening to this and reading the comments

I feel almost the exact same, have a few close friends and family I spend time with still but I’m really not sure what changed in me after the pandemic cause ever since I went from being kinda cheerful and social to super nervous about everything which eventually turned into not really finding any care about almost anything (after graduating too lol so maybe I went adrift 😵‍💫)

This is what anime is capable of being. This reminded me of why i love this medium so much i feel alive genuinely when i'm experiencing these !

Im a huge fan of indie pop and the fact theres japanese indie pop its become my most favorite sub genre

This is probably one of those songs that I would play in the car or just listen to it while travelling

This song feels like distancing from a friend you used to love very dearly... Yeah she used to be my biggest hope when tomorrow came. Waiting for her letter every day, then every week, then every month,... I guess everything must come to an end somehow. No new mails. But I'm grateful that I was able to be one of her lights these certain times, and she was there for me that whole time. She's like my big sister. We shared and raised each other up. Thanks for being one of my most genuine friend ever. Thanks, Nico!

Coming of age anime hit different, esp. when they're as good as sonny boy

A paper airplane gliding thru the beach to the blue sea, on a calming unknowing but quiet afternoon. That's what this song makes me think about while living in a city where no one makes paper airplanes anymore.

I love this anime. Its a 10/10 for me, but I don't think I want a second season or OVA. It told the story it wanted to tell, though I guess an OVA of some of the experiences the other characters have in the this worlds would be interesting.

@@sammerritt4272 I think we had a similar journey of Sonny Boy and continuation. I'm glad we both came to that conclusion, even if I would love to know more. It's just not meant for it, and I have to love it for that. Some stories have to end, and this is one heck of a story! Sometimes to love something is to let it be over, and that can be so painful.

Mate, i recommend you to lock the negativity away. Don't consume news and all that media, cuz its only gonna darken your world. But; about you expressing the wish to be in worlds as during this anime... i think you missed the whole point of sonny boy. Life in the worlds is meaningless. The anime is, at least in my opinion, similarly to xenoblade chronicles 3, telling you to find some determination, change yourself and move on. Even tho its hard. And painful. And sad.
