In the opening scene of the episode you can see that Mizuho has been crying. The entirety of the song washes over us as we watch Nozomi’s funeral and how her passing has affected Mizuho and Nagara. We’re left with the image of Nozomi’s overwhelming optimism as they plan to return home. Simply beautiful.

I think that not explaining almost anything was the best choice, because it let open everything to interpretation... it doesn't put any limits in what and how you understand... and that adds a lot of value. Specially in a work with so many symbolism and topics. It's like a painting.

I bet this soundtrack gonna blow up one day when sonny boy become popular.
This song hits hard now.
it's like you're always there, in the light, and i can't turn my eyes away this path stretches on, towards a place that will light my prayers and sorrow a root extends out from my lonely heart i grab onto it and smile like the shining stars in the night sky, your kindness, will always remain here even when we can't meet let's always talk in my heart because you were here, i've changed in this tiny corner of the world, this miracle that's allowed me to see the light of day again... i wonder if you're watching? if i listen carefully, i can hear your sweet voice and that makes it almost feel as though you're close by to be honest, i am lonely but the words you spoke to me will never (ever) fade, forever in the light (hope) Nozomi's name means "hope" 😭

with nagara standing up (as morning makes its way in the sky) and him saying "let's go". this particular moment felt grand that's for sure.
This song is really accurate of how loss feels like, it's really deep but transient, almost like it's not there at all, and after a while you can't feel it anymore, in fact you can't feel anything at all anymore...
3:16 onwards... the sounds of triumph and loss. Happily saluting for Nozomi!
Thank you for changing me, Nagara, Nozomi, Mizuho...
When the trumpets and drums start they gave me that feeling that everything is gonna be ok and we will move on and try our best for the future.Hope! This anime is a masterpiece Note:That what they actually said before the trumpets started HOPE.

This song is a masterpiece, it’s feels like a music to play when you meet your end but have no regrets since you lived your life to the fullest.
What an incredibly moving song. Even if you detach the anime's scene and meaning from it, the composition is such an amazing rollercoaster of emotions. The way her voice drags and fades up and down is gripping, and at the end the way the horns feel like they are desperately struggling to move along the progression. To me that's representing Nagara and Mizuho. They feel so much pain and sorrow, but have to find a way to swallow it down and move forwards. Seriously I'm so in love with this track and show.

The entire Sonny Boy soundtrack journey is that bittersweet feeling when you have to let go something once you so dearly loved. It hurts. Still, you let it sweep away anyway, as it's for both of you's sakes.
You know it's a banger when they got the trumpets going
God those horns towards the end are so beautiful. Reminds me of a Beirut song or something, which is definitely not something I can say of most anime soundtracks lol. The amount of love and care that clearly went into the production of this show is just amazing, and I can't wait to how it ends!

Also feels like the melody is a mash of the 3 people in that scene... Lyrics from Nagara, emotional melody from Mizuho, and the disjointed tropical music from Rajdhani (he has grown indifferent towards everything due to living too long, so he can't feel the sorrow as deeply as the other two).

this anime literally has the best soundtrack ever. almost most of the songs in the soundtrack are my favesssssss
Just amazing from beginning to end just like Sonny Boy an all time fav of mine now and forever.
This series was about coming to age and the director also i remember clearing this out in a interview if i dont mistaking, just on the first episode i remember that scene where the characters were trapped on the school with some kind of dark space surrounding them and unable to get back to reality i could interpretate that like we feel lost once we get to cetain age coming to actually having to think what we are gonna do with our lifes our "path" you could call it, such an metaphorical way to illustrate it at least that was my way of seeing it of course this series touches so much more themes and its pretty profound. To some degree gave me vibes of tatami galaxy anotoher amaizing anime, sunny boy is not the kind of series that serve you in silver plate all the plot , messages and characters but its worth so much the effort on paying attention to every detail and dialog, loved the anime and i feel this is gonna age so well and became an cclasic.
the song is still full of emotion even when it's not in the anime' scene
I love the trumpet duet at the end. Wish there was sheet music for it somewhere.
2:15 i really like this part

Been listening to this for weeks now and I translated it for all of you. Hits even harder when you understand the lyrics😭 ________________________________________ 🎵 It’s like you’re always in the light, I cant look away. (Instrumental) The path continues to a place that will light my prayer and sorrow. I took the root that grew in my lonely heart and I smiled. Your kindness is like a star in the night's bright sky. It's always here. We speak with our hearts, even when we can't find each other. I changed because you were there In this small corner of the world. There's a miracle that leads me to a baby's first tears. Can you see it? (Instrumental) If I listen carefully, I can hear your lovely voice. It's as if you were here. I feel really lonely, but The words you said to me (you) Will never (ever) disappear (forever) in the light. (Hope) (Instrumental grand finale)❤️😭🎶
