From the movie ICELAND (1942), with Sonja Henie, John Payne, Jack Oakie, Felix Bressart, Sterling Holloway and The Sammy Kaye Orchestra. I have uploaded 4 skating scenes of Sonja. They are shown 1 through 4 in the order from the movie, #4 being the movie finale. I had uploaded the finale skating scene from SUN VALLEY SERENADE earlier so check my channel for that video.
Henie's on-ice partner during the filmed skating sequences was 1940/41 U.S. Champion Eugene Turner.

Kudos to Henie in that she always produced all of the skating scenes in her movies & ice shows. She had an iron will that made her so successful.

@@alexeidemajo8902 - nowhere near the same story! Sonja Henie was an Olympic champion turned movie star back in the 1920s through 1960s; Tonya Harding wasn't even born yet.

@@AuroraBoarder1 - Her first Hollywood movie was in 1936. Two minor film shorts in Norway in late twenties. She was born in 1912.

@@mchapman132 - right. It is called One in a Million, and has footage of her in the 1936 Olympics.

@@AuroraBoarder1 - My favorite Sonja Henie movie is “Thin Ice” with Tyrone Power. They were quite an item while filming that movie, and for some time after. He ended the affair, and it’s not know exactly what Power said to her, but she never spoke with him ever again. She had an insatiable sexual appetite.
It all adds up to around TWELVE MINUTES of skating scenes in this movie, that’s a lot by any measure!
