Never used big pits, so you have to put them in free spool by loosening in the front drag?

Yes but easy to do and when you get used to it there's no real need (excuse the pun!😜) for baitrunners...

@@peterthornton1969 think it will take some getting used too, I wake up in my bivvy and have minor panic attacks about me putting bait runner on, I’d be pretty tense with these (checking, rechecking 2 hours later ect)

@@geoffsaunderson5766 when you learn to do it right you'll never again worry about whether you've engaged the baitrunner, or set the tension correctly etc....just hand over the spool and turn with first finger...
