What surf reel ? Sonik AVX 10000 review

Ойын-сауық

Surf reels or Beach fishing fixed spools are becoming popular. In this video we unbox the SONIK 10000 AVX which i think occupies that sweet spot of quality and price and iwe compare it to rivals and even manage to winch in a few fish.

Dont know what happened I'll try again I use the Penn Surfblaster 7000 and 8000 and I actually prefer the smaller 7000 cause I reckon I cast further with that one. And hey are a bit cheaper than the reel you are reviewing. Once again really enjoyed the film. Cheer graham.

Hi, I had a couple of Surfblaster 2 8000's and 1 of them had an annoying fault as the bail arm kept flipping back staight away when casting. I lost no end of rigs with it so got rid of both and changed to Yuki Starsurfs, really glad I did try one!!!!

Had a few different reels. Still use a mk 1 surfblaster but the one I prefer is the okuma trio rex salt, its bomb proof, really well made and the spindle is shorter and a lot thicker. Think you can get them for around 130 quid if you shop around.

I had a pair of Penn Surfblaster II 7000, nothing wrong with them, but decided to upgrade to a pair of Shimano Power Aero's 1400 and I find that I can cast further, the build quality is far better than the Penn's and far lighter (about 100g). I think the superior line lay of the Shimano's increases the casting length. With regular maintenance they should last a long time, I think with lower cost reels you are more inclined to replace them than repair/service them so in the long run you would spend the same as a top end Shimano.

Hi Matt hope you are well. Follow your channel regularly and find it most enjoyable. Can you give some advice. I have an in jury to my right shoulder. When reeling in and casting (I am not a big caster!) I reel in with right hand and hold the rod with my left. What would be the best method of casting bearing in mind my injured right shoulder. I need to compromise and somehow not put pressure or strain on the injury. Do I try to cast out using my weaker arm/shoulder.? Any advice would be most welcome. Regards Dave broadstairs Kent.

Hi Dave, Sorry for some reason KZread Blocked your comment ? So i have had injuries in the past and it is a genuine option to cast the other way round. Also using smaller lighter gear , float fishing or continental rods using 3 oz leads. can help. Broadstairs should lend itself to some varying tactics. Most reels are ambidextrous. Try a half pendulum with a softer rod too. As for reeling in a big fish ! i supose its a good problem to have. Thanks mate good question thgat ive been thinking about

  • @steveg7504

Great review 👍 my concern would be the risk of bending the spindle when at full extension, line lay looks very good but more for a carp fisherman, the good news is once unboxed and used you will retain the quality and get £30 quid back when you sell it 😂 I use Penn spinfisher 7500LC they are on their 5th year and never failed, regular service is all that’s required on the bail arm bearing to avoid seizure, I sold a spare one the other day and got 100 back after paying 150 five years ago, no body flex when working hard was my main reason for moving onto Penn all the way after trying many other brands, not light weight but if I plan on holding my gear in light seas I go down to a Shimano 5500 on a century ultra lite👍
