With all these Green Hills, it would be interesting to see a game where this zone would be the hardest rather than how it always is

Sonic Advance 3 does that, it's actually the third zone in the game and is called Sunset Hill because its Green hill during the sunset Sonic 2 8bit doest is as well, there is a zone called Green Hills Zone near the end of the game

This has got to be the most modified version of the Digitial Swirl engine I've seen so far. I didn't even realize at first it was the same engine. (first time I played it didn't have the logo at 00:05). The game feels pretty dang good for Roblox, Sonic just needs to maintain his higher run speeds and it'd be even closer. Also guessing the "Will be profitable" is supposed to be "will not be profitable" LOL

5 years later, we have a level 2

The music and sky box are a thing of beauty , actually makes it feel more like Hilltop. The landscaping could use some more flow , it's the best sandbox in a while. It's a solid step in the right direction , and it's good too. Though if you want to expand it , you should consider a different artistic theme.

Im happy a older game is getting revived (not really with the idea of it being profitable, but never the less) but I think that ever since we got Sonic Frontiers, the appeal of this being a sandbox to run around in has kinda lessened a bit (especially since Update 2 basically gave us the next best thing to genuine momentum) So yeah, happy its back in the public light again, but it doesn't feel as special anymore

This looks fun I hope they add more zones into this

This looks like the beta version of utopia but still it gives me the same chills like utopia.

u wanna know whats more impressive? this game was made in ROBLOX

for anyone wondering. The original utopia is still being worked on. The dev has just been busy lately

smells like cope or just "well i want to continue doing it but just cba" ive seen a few projects do this for example the sonic R remake,youtube says its still under construction,the dev on his discord basically said he doesnt know how to impliment x and y and basically has give up.

We still miss sonic utopia this game deserve be more

I remember this game back when cobanermani456 played it, it looked beautiful back then and still looks great, I miss him and his content everyday, hope he’s ok

I hope the devs of sonic team looks at some of these fan games, Sonic Utopia, Project HERO, Sonic Venture, etc. - there's alot of styles of movement that would have so much potential for inspiration when they make another sonic title in 3D ;Great video!

If I would make a 3d classic sonic fan game, I would've used sonic utopia style. It's very unique and it's not complicated. For a 3d modern sonic game i would choose project hero style since that it works just like the adventure style but way improved in the graphics and gameplay

problem is they did,the problem was they didnt see utopia they saw sonic dropped into generic unreal engine meadow level and thought oh we will call it frontiers frontiers art choice is cringe,its like BOTW with a sonic mod utopia respects the art style of the OG game,it looks exactly like how you thought it would look when you was a small kid in 1991 seeing the mountains in the distance while playing green hill.

Hey there, this is a developer speaking. This game is supposed to be a roblox "port" of sonic utopia, using a completely different engine. If you didnt know already, the original sonic utopia was made in unity. If you dislike our game, thats completely fine, but i'd suggest you try the real Sonic Utopia if you arent satisfied with our version. Thanks for reading. :D

@@PhantomIsADeveloper You must know that not all of us have fast enough Internet to enjoy playing on Roblox. How would things have been different if SEGA had never come up with the idea of making an official Sonic game on Roblox? Probably people who make fangames would still be using Unity, Godot and Unreal Engine, since those kind of games can be played offline. On the other hand, Roblox requires a permanent Internet connection, so if the Internet goes down, you can't keep playing. Besides, if they were to shut down the servers someday, many games made on that platform would be lost forever.
