Well, yeah, sometimes it's fun. Maybe I worded my thoughts incorrectly. I just don't like it when ALL speed runs always HAVE to break the games). That's what I mean. And I certainly don't like when the game is broken to a point where you can't even see anything, like in some Unleashed/Generations speed runs. Nothing is loaded. You walk on invisible floor in the void.

When I played this level to me dashing through would always kill me.

After a lot of trial and error, I finally got an S-Rank on this stage. It needs to be very precise. You basically need to hit almost every Dash Panel on there and memorize enemy placements. Also a good utilization of the boost

One thing in common about both these sonic unleashes is that Eggmanland is a level on what you have learned over the levels.

This game is 10 years old...

Yes the definitive version. When ever I think of eggman land, I think of this. I grew up playing this, while you guys played that hour long atrocity.

In the Xbox 360/PS3 version the rank system is based around score and not entirely around time, thankfully.

Comparing the two versions of Sonic Unleashed I'd say the HD one is better overall but the Wii version handles the end better, even with 5 Werehog Eggmanland stages. Egg Dragoon and Dark Gaia are much better on the Wii version and Eggmanland Day is a fun stage unlike pretty much all of HD Eggmanland

@@demonkingofvalor8162 Not in eggmanland on the HD version. On the HD version, eggman land is roughly 6× longer and I think you switched between the werehog and hedghog around 4-5× in the same level.

In 2012 I got my First console, a Nintendo Wii, one year later, 2013 my mother gifted to me Sonic Unleashed, I was really bad at the game and over 2 years I managed to fully understand the game. It was fun and fast paced, just the way I like things, because I truly enjoy speed, in real life and im games. Over the times past, my controllers got old and had issues with the nunchuck connection, and the CD got scratched to the point that it had issues loading the intro game scene. A year ago, in 2020 - 2021, I tried my luck at the game once more but the CD was no longer readable, and the wii remote finished breaking. So now I have a fully functional Wii console, with a broken non functioning wii remote and nunchuck, and a non readable sonic unleashed CD. It's sad fellas, but rhe amazing memories are still there. Unfortunately, Nintendo no longer makes Wii remotes or Wii games. This was the best game, and I thank you for sharing you gameplay, it makes me want to cry at times seeing these videos as I'm no longer able to play it, but atleast I did play it sometime in my life and it was great🥲💙

TAS? What does that mean? That you're only able to play through this by going at insane speeds, rather than taking it steady as I have to?

TAS means Tool Assisted Speedrun. Basically, you play on an amulator with using quick save/save states feature. If you make a mistake you simply load a previous moment before the mistake and try again. When you complete the level, you save the whole run as a file, which the emulator can then open and by doing so it will basically play the game for you with using your best attempts that you saved.

Me too! I somehow manage to get that far in decent time, then I get screwed and end up dying over and over until my chance for S rank is done for.

Having finally played both I can safely say I like the PS3 version of this level better, it's just way harder.

I just got the tame for wii, but I only have the remote+nunchuk, and its horrible that way. Atleast the daytime stages. Nighttime are okay

Ibrahim Ahmed I believe it was short bursts due to the lack of control on the wiimote. Correct me if I’m wrong (I played the Wii version years ago and now I use dolphin to emulate it with a GameCube controller), but you had to shake the Wii remote every time you want to boost and had to hold X to drift. Continuously shaking the wiimote whilst trying to drift would be a chore.

I think it was to slow the player down naturally and stop them from boosting though the whole stage, this gives the player more time to see things coming due to them not boosting all the time

Yep Unwiished has a better Ranking system, a freaking temple as a hub, and better stages (both Day and Night stages are the best in this version)

Either crimson carnival is hard or I’m just bad

My younger self wouldn’t be that good but now I’m even better and I use a GameCube controller that has a button that can use that same action without having to push the button every time

@@birbbirdbrid1149 only flaw is that, you need to unnecessary spam boost botton, instead of consuming differents bar by keeping it pushed, and it comes with hear AAAARRGHH once and again and it can piss you out at some point of the game. I think it could be fixed in an upgraded port to PC if they do it

@@michigansalto I sort of agree with that statement, but I have played so much unwiished lately that it doesn't really bother me any more. Plus, it adds a little bit of strategy, as the gauge forces you to think of when to use the boost and when to not use it.

***** Поверь мне, при первом прохождении (да и при последующих тоже) Эггманленд в старшей версии рвёт зад покруче любого шарика в СНГ (хотя с последним лично у меня никогда проблем не было). Вся проблема в том, что этот уровень представляет собой три секции за простого Соника и три секции за типосвина ПОДРЯД. Даже относительно быстрое прохождение (без распрыгов) может занять около 15 минут, а первое с кучей потерь жизни в моём случае растянулось на 74 (всё ещё быстрее, чем требование первой миссии торговца - 75 минут). Believe me, for the first time (and the next ones too) Eggmanland in X360/PS3 versions is a pain in the ass much more than that infamous ball in Sonic '06 (though I never had any problems with it). The problem is that the stage consists of 3 normal Sonic and 3 Werehog sections IN A ROW. Even relatively fast run (no M/D-speed) can last around 15 minutes, and I've wasted 74 minutes on my first run with a lot lives lost (still faster than the requirement of the first "hot dog" mission that is 75 minutes).

Что ж, раз так, то наверное HD версия всё-таки посложнее, хотя мне всё-таки кажется, что Wii версия не уступает старшей в сложности по прохождению на скорость. 74 minutes for a level (even if final) sure is a lot. Well, if that's the way it is, maybe the HD version is the harder one. Still, I think that the Wii version isn't inferior to the HD one in terms of difficulty of speed running it.

***** В старшей версии есть распрыг и прочие трюки, завязанные на сломанном управлении, что автоматически делает ту версию сложнее для спидрана. Хотя, любые игры сложны для спидрана, кроме каких-нибудь визуальных новелл. There are M/D-speed and other tricks based on broken controls in the X360/PS3 version. It makes that version harder for speedrunning. Though, any game is hard for speedrunning except VNs and shit.
