@@Mushroom378 Probably not. I never played Jam, and I initially didn't even realize the spring sfx was different between 2 and 3. 3 and CD use the same spring sfx, and since CD came first, it's from CD.

A fun fact: The jump sound plays one more note for each game up until the final group of characters. It’s subtle but noticeable.

Most of these are just due to sound driver changes, they're internally the same as Sonic 1.

Damn, Sonic Mania's drown theme sounds straight-up horrifying. Like a serial killer's mere seconds away from cutting your head off slowly and as painfully as humanly possible. Some suggestions: Add Sonic CD , Knuckles Chaotix, and 3D Blast Genesis, and 3D Blast Saturn (this version has updated sound effects) Add the sound effects for shields, spin attack, spin dash charge, the error sound (Chaotix uses a different one from 2 and 3&K), and the 1-up jingles (S3 uses a different one compared to S3&K and S&K alone)

Thanks a lot SEGA. The soundfont for the Megadrive (the console that Sonic 3 is on) is kinda chippy and sounds more aged. It's like a classroom in which Sonic 3 is trying to be a cool kid by being different.

The “drowned” sound effect from “Sonic 1” and “Sonic 4: Episodes I and II” was later used in “Sonic Generations.” Strangely enough, both Classic and Modern Sonic shared the same “drowned” sound effect in that game.

If I had a favourite drowning theme, which indeed I do, it comes from Sonic Colours. However, aside from that, I now have the original Sonic 1 & 2 Mega Drive Soundtrack on Audio CD. Goes to show I'm still a fan of Sonic the Hedgehog.

Yeah, that, Sonic CD (US and JP/PAL), Sonic the Hedgehog Genesis (GBA), Sonic Pocket Adventure, and the Sonic Adventure series too! Sonic Adventure 2 and its GameCube remake have different jump sounds for each character with a few exceptions, like take for example, Sonic, Knuckles, and, I think, Eggman (only in Chao Garden) use a quick whoosh sound when they jump, but Shadow uses a a bit of a slowed-down, deeper pitched version of said sound when he jumps in the main mode (although a little higher-pitched than that, but not as much, in Chao Garden with Tails also using that in said mode). Oh, and don’t forget to use the Game Over jingle comparison, too!

Nobody ever remembers Sonic CD.
