    This couldn't have released at a better time, as IGN is doing some world premiere for the upcoming Sonic Frontiers at the time of this comment. But Sonic Advance 1-3 are probably some of the most underrated Sonic games out there, and although I haven't played them, the games certainly have their fans.

    @@pizzaggio kinda ironic, because that one awkward IGN guy during the "Sonic Mania" preview discussion years ago famously coined the term "Sonic was never good." You can even tell before he even blurted that out, by how annoyed, and awkward he looked as the other guys discussed Sonic, that he hated being there, hearing about Sonic, and could hardly contain his hedgehog hatred. He honestly looked like he had socialization issues too. Why Sega would partner with IGN, whom crapped on their games for decades is beyond me.

IGN gave Sonic Unleashed a 4 despite it being a decent game, they gave a 3 out if 10 for another one, but changed the score later, (I think it was Sonic Adventure) and like Beau Walker said, they said that, "Sonic was never good", so it's safe to assume that IGN has some sort of hatred for Sonic

    Advance has something very important that makes it my favourite Sonic game, something that very few 2D Sonic games do. The levels have highly distinct areas so they're more memorable. Take the opening level. You sprint along an open beach, with some wooden decking. You then run down a checkboard hill of stone and leaves. You jump up into a cavern area filled with waterfalls and the green hill aspect. Finally you leave the level in a wide open green area, reminiscent of an open field. Even later levels like Egg Rocket have it. Entering the rocket, ascending the launch scaffolding, switching between the inside and outside of the rocket as it breaks the atmosphere, and finally being inside the rocket engine room while it flies through space itself.

    @@secoTheSonicFan not always true, I understand and agree that "Sonic Orgins" is a bit overpriced, ($40 for only 5 games, plus an extra $5 for optional bonus material) but don't forget their previous Sonic compilations and remakes have been very cheap actually. You can literally buy Sonic 1, 2, and CD for $3 each off Google Play for your phone, (or even just play them "free with ads") and the Steam PC versions were cheap too. Let's not forget Sonic Mega Collection was $20 for 7 games. (And a few hidden ones included.) Heck, you could get a collection game of 50+ Sega Genesis games, (including 4 Sonic games) for any of the major consoles (including Switch) for only $30. (Which occasionally gets discounted half price during seasonal sales.) That's less then a dollar per game. And actually the Sonic Advance games did sell quite well in the 2000s decade, and for some Nintendo fans were their first Sonic game. The reason they have never been rereleased (outside the Japanese WiiU Virtual Console) is due to legal issues with THQ whom published the American releases, and possibly other legal issues.

    @pcachu2 жыл бұрын

    Fun fact: Pinball was actually regulated as a form of gambling for a while, classified as a game of chance and not skill. Hell, before the introduction of flippers in 1947 it was basically pachinko with a larger, heavier ball. That's part of why a bunch of machines from up to the 1970's had "A Game of Skill!" printed somewhere on them. It's also why some of them had mechanics like "Add-a-Ball" (where you can extend your current game with multiple bonus turns) instead of giving free games. The More You Know [rainbow star]

    I really enjoyed this video, my guy! I've only ever played the advance games in a phone emulator, maybe I should give them another shot sometime...

    Honestly, the part about the X-Zone porn section felt super natural and completely relatable. Good humor right there. Soft toned delivery doing devious generally socially frowned upon concepts is my honey n crackers.

    I'm glad you pointed out both the high points and the low points of the game. It's not the kind of game I would play because the game is "not really designed for Sonic" if that makes any sense, but I appreciate how you acknowledged that Tails and Knuckles are better characters overall. In fact, they are both how I managed to play the older Sonic games as I'm more interested in exploring the levels than blasting through them. By the way, Goomba, if you really are a robot, it would explain why Goombas are rather expendable.

    It's a shark in a wall, shark in a wall! Now imagine playing those Special Stages on an original GBA where you can't see squat! Good times!
