I can't believe this is one of the best sonic fangames ever mechanic wise... I won't ever look at Roblox the same way again. While this is great I still have a few criticisms that I think would make it better. - Put the light dash on the Y button, than decrease the range. (It's to overpowered and on B especially it gets in the way) - Sonic runs up walls a little to easily. It's actually not bad, but it's a little to easy compared to the adventure titles. - Sonic is a little floaty. I actually don't mind this at all and don't think it needs to be changed if the stages were different. For example the test stage it works perfectly, but in Emerald Coast it's basically a speedrun of the original on Easy mode. Which really isn't a problem, just the way it is. - I just got to say this has the best rail grinding in any fangame period. Balancing, getting momentum, jumping at the end for more height. The only issue I had is the rail switching almost never worked, it could be tweaked a little bit more. Other than that, I can't really think of anything this is amazing!!! Roblox has great potential for games such as these. You'll have a hard time finding these games however. The major problem is the community and age group revolving around kids. It's a shame, but very rewarding once you've found a gem in the rough.

@@jbbajangamer What you'll find there is by teenagers or even developers in their early 20's as well. It's just mainly targetting towards kids is all sadly. That's why you'll find them good games deep and hidden within the website.

If you like Jet Set Radio or Air Gear, a game called "SOAR!" Is being developed. I wouldn't've known if I didn't use my strategy for finding games. What I like to do to find games on ROBLOX is go to the favorites of one of the creators of one of the games in my favorites, or one of their fellow developer's favorites.They like miscellaneous projects. Boost Vector is probably the best racing game atm, it has a couple of bugs that need to be fixed on some stages though. Boost Vector is basically a Sonic/Jet Set racing game. It seems to be inspired by the two and other games.

@Dallas Truuuee, Phasmaphobia (if I spelled it correctly) is an example.

The Emerald Coast port is something I feel has been overly done in 3D fan games by this point but other than that, this looks very promising for a Roblox project, and unlike certain Roblox "developers" (you know the ones) they're not scamming people to give them money for something the team may or may not fully deliver in the end. They're making it bold and clear that it's a non-profit tribute and that alone deserves huge respect.

@@james1311na of course I’ve tried forces, in fact I’ve played it through twice. The fact sega didn’t take the story seriously, locked most of the story they did have behind text boxes on a world map instead of actually SHOWING any of it, the fact it took 4 years to make a 3 hour long game, the wonky and unreliable controls, the un-needed addition of classic sonic, the characters being written out of character, and just over all not being as polished as it should’ve been makes it imo not great. Sure, it looks pretty, and there are a few stages I find fun, that doesn’t automatically make it a good game, it’s just extremely flawed and this roblox game looks like it’s righting the wrongs of forces in many ways, even if it’s just a copy of a level from adventure.

This is literally a test box game with multiple bugs and is visually worse then Sonic Forces, it didn’t even come out yet and you guys are saying it’s better, B R U H.

You should try the game known as Pyrite Adventure 2. It's pretty much a mix or SA1 and 2 (mostly sa1). The reason im recommend I the 2nd game is because its a very VERY improved version of the first game.

Man times have changed. I’m 21 and I remember when I was a kid playing roblox sword fight on the heights was the big game to play. Now the game has stuff like this all over the place. It’s amazing how far things have come

Good god... this is the adventure style with polished wallrunning and momentum mechanics. I can't wait to see what becomes of this, already playing the test level made me feel like I was catching a glimpse of sonic adventure 3

Overall I'm very impressed with this, tried it out myself and the physics are damn close. Close enough to a point where you can just tell by watching the amount of depth and care has been put into this. From how Floaty Sonic becomes after a homing attack chain, to the gradual speed increase down slopes etc, even without playing it you can tell its an exceedingly close replica to the physics of the Adventure games. Adventure 1 specifically. I understand some peoples critiques about Emerald Coast being ported due to how many fan games do so, but I feel for this project its justified. For physics this close to the real thing you want to develop and test with levels that were actually built with the Adventure Formula in mind. Where as things like Sonic World were the physics are nowhere near close to Adventure, or the amount of lazy bumper engine asset flips that do so its not really ideal using Adventure levels and you don't get the most optimized use out of these levels with projects such as that, as the physics are rarely tweaked to compensate and to optimize the movesets and overall movement. As for the whole thing being developed in Roblox of all things, just shows that its the developer that matters and not the tools. We see so many other projects using engines that are more advanced and are better suited but because the developers lazily cobble assets together and don't even bother to tweak and optimize the physics around said assets/levels result in uninspired, jank and overall buggy fan games.

You should try "Pyrite Adventure" in Roblox. Its a Sonic Adventure game with YOUR OWN character in it. Imo it feels better than this game.

you're joking right. Pyrite Adventure is cool and all, but they have original builds. I'm a developer myself and by looking at their builds it looks like they don't know what a union is. + I feel that Sonic Onset Adventure has smoother mechanics and their also not taking *like* a week to make the whole entire game unlike Pyrite Adventure.

Really love this!!!Even tho Emerald coast in roblox is not as perfect to the original one I still love it. It's feels like you're playing a early prototype and a test engine of Sonic Adventure to be honest.

I love how this looks and plays, sonic's spinball looks so good

Whoa looks neat! The model and the animations seem quite unique from your usual fan game (yes, it is on the Roblox platform, but my point is I like to see when people put in the effort of making new models and animations in general for Sonic fan works.)

For what it is, this is amazing! It reminds me of the SD port from Sonic Unleashed

This game has: -Sonic Adventure Enviroment -Sonic Adventure 2 abilites (except for somersault) -Sonic Heroes model

Fun Fact: This game was created by TheGreenDeveloper (aka @greendev123 on twitter) who left the Warhead Entertainment team which was responsible for another Sonic Adventure game on Roblox (Sonic Eclipse). Due to Sonic Eclipse making money off the Sonic IP, and controversies with the creator (Doctor Rofatnik), GreenDev left to make this game for fun. So I think this game was made to be a "fuck you" to Sonic Eclipse lol.

I really appreciate the adventure formula and how the gameplay is so expansive

The best Sonic game on Roblox before for me was Pyrite Adventure 2 (I don't remember if that's the name, but you understand) until I met this game, this game makes you feel Sonic, it's the best Experience on Roblox and it has several well-polished mechanics not like other Fan games, it has such great potential and can be the best Sonic game in all of Roblox without much difficulty.

Wow, this is made in /roblox/ and it's more accurate to Adventure 1&2 than any other attempt at doing the Adventure formula I've seen. That's crazy.

okay so, when you start playing you're put in a test area full of little items and gimmicks for testing, and there's a floating ball by spawn which has some... concerning textures on it. i mean, the image itself is hilarious, but still. how??

this emerald coast is broken,with a spindash on the start you can get on this part 0:42 and in this part 1:00 you can glitch inside of one of the hills,oh and spamming spindash makes you die almost everytime.

Tbh Adventure 1 isn’t as open as everyone claims it to be, there’s some secrets sure but I don’t see it being THAT open.

Well Sonic Adventure isn't a open world game. It's not that far off from SA2. FYI linearity isn't a bad thing, it's automation and what's in the paths that can break the game. The adventure games aren't that insanely "open" outside of a few levels, but I think what most people mean by that, is that you're open to do a lot of tricks and make your own paths, due to the amount of control you have over Sonic.
