    I happened to see the first few subbed episodes of Sherlock Hound a few years back, and he voiced Professor Moriarty, the recurring villain in that series. It was surprising enough to see him in an '80s anime (though according to his resume, the dude's been at it since the '60s), but what really caught me off guard is how similar he sounded to his (at the time) current role as Eggman, a role he wouldn't start taking up until almost 20 years later (and would continue to play for about 15 years afterwards until his death). It really is amazing how well some of these veteran seiyuu polish their acting talents over several decades.

    Well you can always translate the voices of the characters if you have the PS2 version of the game. On the Xbox version in order for that to happen, you have to go to the System settings, go to language and select Japanese in that sense the console's wording will be translated as well. If you boot up the game in the console, you'll see that the wording in the game is translated along with the character's voices. The reason for that is that if you go to the game's options menu, it doesn't show you where you can translate the voices and subtitles of the characters because you're playing it on the Xbox version. For the PS2 however, you do it manually in the game because the PS2 itself doesn't have the ability to translate the voices and dialogue of the characters for you. I mean you can but it's only for the system itself only. If you want to translate the voices, then do on the game's options menu for the PS2 version.

    Hi there! Long time watcher, first time writer! Just wanted to let you know that I really appreciate you doing these videos, man. I was always curious and really wanted to know the direct translations from the original Japanese scripts and voicework as well, without just using the dub's scripts. Especially since I feel that the Japanese cast don't get as much love as the English casts does. I also wanted to ask if I could assist you in recording and editing footage for these vids, seeing as you don't have as much time on your hands as you did before in the past. I have most of the main Sonic games on my PC and consoles, as well. So, I'd really like to help, if it's possible. Either way, can't wait to see the next vid, man! Keep up the great work!

    Thanks! I'm glad you've been enjoying! Thanks for the kind offer. However, I can still do these myself; time aside, I'll find my ways to go around. Furthermore, I'm afraid I might find myself too demanding or meticulously picky to direct, haha. Again, thanks! Good day to you.

    Not a problem! You make some great videos, man! Also, forgot to mention that I love the titles that you give to each of the timestamps! Adds a very nice and personal touch! Thanks for replying! :) I wouldn't worry about you being too demanding or picky to direct editing towards, since I would really love to record for you. Either way, I've been having a hankering to jump back into these games for another playthrough that I was gonna record, so I'd really like to help out, if at all possible! I've got a good grasp of your style of editing from this alone and I can handle heavy duty stuff like this fairly well! You could just write down a list of do's and dont's and I can follow that to a T, if possible. Or I could just record a butt-ton of raw footage and send it to you, either-or! But if that's not your style, then I completely understand and that's not a problem! Once again, thanks for the kind words and replying. :)

    Hey, please answer me. I know this is totally off topic, but this is something I'd like to understand about the Sonic series. I heard that Sonic doesn't do well in Japan at all, why do you think Sega bothers with trying with Sonic in Japan? Of course , this is assuming that he really doesn't do good at all in Japan. Please enlighten me.

  • @Prime_Legend

    From 1991 to 2001 basically genesis era to dreamiest era, they did sell well in Japan. However, fro. there, his game sales began to fall in Japan. And I have two reasons I think I know why. 1.Sega's console died. Sonic's game sold well exclusively on the dreamcast in all countries. And since it was Sega's console, they could promote the game and give it a long stock as long they can. However, ever since it died, Sonic then decided to go software, which means, selling games on other brands. Sonic's games were then licensed by Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft. Since they were licensed by other companies, the companies could decide how they could promote the games, and they would also have limited stocks in Japan. However, the thing I don't get is that even after all this happening, he still sold well in Europe and America. I think is because the way Sonic has small stocks of being exposed in most gaming shops in Japan. Just like Sonic lost world in Japan, I heard that it had a really small stock and got taken down. Plus, I heard that business with games, manga and anime in Japan has been kinda rough over the past few years.

  • @blueblur8420

    @blueblur8420

    8 жыл бұрын

    Oh, I have been thinking about that for some time. I have been a Sonic fan for a decade, and I have heard about him not doing well in Japan, yet doing well in the US and Europe. Do you think it might also be because the games DID drop in quality after Sega opted out of the console war, and that the Japanese are "maybe" a lot pickier? As in, they take the need of quality very seriously. We have to remember how BROKEN Sonic 06 was, I believe that's where Sonic got knocked down horridly almost everywhere in the world. You make a great point about the possibility of the stocks thing, but I have to say it's highly unlikely, considering he still really did well in America and Europe. I think those companies just have to license it, so that it can get a release on their consoles, nothing to do with how much it's promoted. Sega still can promote it using E3 or Tokyo Game Show, the upcoming party, ect. Sega has been really silent about the next Sonic game, the MAIN series Sonic game. Do you think they might have a plan to turn things around? Here's hoping.

    To be frank, I don't ever keep any personal opinions on the success of the Sonic the Hedgehog series, whether it's success as in sales or success as in popularity. To put it another way, straightforwardly, as a fellow fan of the series myself, as long as I still am a grateful and passionate fan of the series as I have been since I was a child, I am happy and satisfied. That is all.

I just don't want the series to be at serious risk of ending. It would suck, if that were to happen now. Given that the series is a huge part of my childhood, I wouldn't want it to ever go away. Of course, the good memories will always remain. :)

    BlueBlur8 Me too as well. The funny thing is that Sonic 06 actually sold well than most sonic games in Japan, including Sonic generations and Sonic colors. I heard that Sonic is known in Japan just like Mario, but they don't just buy his games cause of the console wars I think.
