Let’s be honest, when are they NOT mad at SEGA? This is just a normal Thursday. However, this time it is kinda justified, like why can’t we get it on PC?? And I honestly agree, trying to get Sonic DLC is like a freaking ARG. Their methods are really weird and pretty annoying. Instead of just giving us the DLC, they’re like “you can have this skin BUTTTT you have to travel to China and go to three Kroger stores and buy everything they have” …and nobody has the time for that. *BUT of all skins to get mad about, the Amy one is an overreaction. Just sign up to get it. They should’ve chose the Kroger ones to complain about, the IHOP Amy one isn’t that big of a deal imo* So yeah, it is a problem and I (surprisingly) do agree with the rest of the fanbase on this one. EDIT: what the heck is a *charon* 😂

The only reason to be annoyed but not overly mad is that pc player dont get to have it, i actually like the fact that you can things this way, it makes having a normal breakfest morning end up a sonic bonus at the same time, also i really like the sonic-style food.

I've been saying this for years on Sonic merch. I'm not American I'm not Japanese I'm excluded. I hate it now as much as then.

At first, I didn't understand anything. I was calculating my country's money to usd money to see how much is $5. Then I realized I'm screwed. That's when you brought up this exact problem.

5:34 - I hope that new Sega All-Star title planned is Sega Superstars Sports. A lot of people legitimately wanted to play a Sonic basketball game, and Sega had planned to make one for the 32X that would have been similar to Tiny Toon Adventures: ACME All-Stars on the Sega Genesis, but with Sega characters like Sonic, Tails, and Ristar the Shooting Star. The game was scrapped due to the 32X's commercial failure, but Sega has revisited the concept of crossover games with the Sega Superstars games. I started a petition to make Sega Superstars Sports happen, and it has eight signatures as of this writing.

Missed opportunity to make shadow’s dish into “Chaos Swissroll”

Well yeah, and it's not just "Silly cartoon character doesn't have funny costume" for me. It's also knowing that I'll never be able to have everything the game has, it technically won't be complete without all the costumes. If there's DLC, I need all of it. I'm never satisfied without it. Huh. This is something that I was definitely mad about. I’m definitely confuse why we get a certain date to complete it. The reason why I’m mad is because I have an Nintendo switch so I won’t be able to have the IHOP Amy skin. I wish I could get these skins but sadly I can’t because I have an Nintendo switch. So, I’m honestly mad and I hope SEGA listens to us about this problem that me and other people have.

As European Sonic fans can't get this skin at all because there are no IHop restaurants in Europe so yea...

this is literally the xfinity kart in crash team racing all over again lol region locking content to one country only to then make it available for a limited time, why is it so hard to make the content inside the game be made easily accessible and available for all regions the game was released in an optional cosmetic isnt the end of the world but its no wonder why the fans are mad

As a Nintendo player even though I can get exclusive skins that pc players can’t I still think it is unfair that the players who play on pc are getting screwed over and the console players get all the goodie skins. It’s also unfair that sega made confusing gimmicks to get skins and it requires third party purchases in order to get them which is ngl very sketchy. I never been to ihop so I’m probably never getting the retro diner Amy skin.

I heard apparently the creator of Sonic Dream Team said that the game could be available for console and PC but not for Android.

I live in the U.S. and I don't even have a Kroger anywhere near me, so if I really wanted those skins, I wouldn't be able to obtain it either

I do think this is a genuine problem. I know these are just skins that have no effect on the gameplay whatsoever, but people would still like to have them because of how cool they look. I don't think everything has to be locked behind a certain region, subscription, or an extra price tag. I understand that SEGA is a business that's trying to make money wherever they can, but it's gotten out of hand at this point.

Personally I don't like the way that Sega is locking content for a specific place of people. We should all be treated equally no matter what is that DLC that the want us to purchase.

I understand why.

This reminds me of Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta being exclusive to the Day 1 edition of Xenoverse 1 or for people who had already pre ordered it. Extremely dumb move on Bandai Namco to have it locked behind day 1 edition. Also sucks that the PlayStation store pulled the Shadow costume set for your avatar in Sonic Forces from their store.

You got that bit wrong, the Nightmare Nights DLC was also avaliable for the WIiU, but you could only play it once.

I find it weird that people are getting mad at regional skins when there’s a bunch of games and skins you can’t get at America but I do get why people are mad because what if there isn’t a IHOP near you

First off, I didn't realize muzzle curve discourse was a thing. I was fairly certain I was the only person with an issue with the muzzle curve thing. And even then, it wasn't a serious issue. I, as an artist, just think it looks better a certain way and that being changed, along with the sum of many other minor downgrades, have, overall, made Sonic's design less striking. That's pretty valid. lol But also, introducing this video like "Oh boy the stupid Sonic fanbase is mad about something stupid again" vibes is kinda weird because then you talk about why they're mad at not only does it make sense, but you agree with it. lol I think the topic and the way it was introduced are 2 clashing tones and in the future it'd be best to leave that first tone for a video when fans decide to complain about something more mind numbing. And for something like this a "Yeah fans like to complain a lot, but SOMETIMES there's merit to those complaints" type of intro would probably have fit better imo but hey. You're the YT celeb and I end up watching your videos so I guess I shouldn't dispute your tactics too much. lol

Yeah, I got super worried when I heard about the Amy IHOP skin, since it was giving me Kroger PTSD, and there isn’t a Kroger anywhere near where I live, but thankfully it wasn’t too bad. There’s an IHOP in town, so I figured I’d try the one of the Sonic promotional meals, anyway. I mean, this is coming from a guy who literally ordered Sonic Superstars from the UK and shipped it to the USA because I wanted to avoid dealing with Kroger in any way. (Since the UK and Japan got the comic skins as pre-order bonuses from Amazon.) But I sincerely hope they call it with these special skins already. As a completionist, it’s an absolute nightmare keeping up with all these Sonic Superstars promotions. They’re cute, but at some point it’s going to be too much. What’s next? A special conductor Sonic outfit only for people who attended a Sonic Symphony? Talk about severely limiting your player base. In any case, here’s hoping that’s the last of the promotional outfits you can only get via methods outside of the digital storefronts. (Also, quick correction with Super Sonic in Sonic Forces. He was always free, but SEGA originally said he was going to be free for a limited time. But, the backlash was great enough that they backtracked on it and kept him free indefinitely. So, no one should’ve ever had to pay for it if I remember correctly.) (Also, ANOTHER correction, Sonic Lost World on the Wii U also has the Nightmare Zone. The PC version just doesn’t have the two Nintendo stages for obvious reasons, that being the Yoshi and Zelda levels. I’m pretty sure the Nightmare Zone stage was a preorder bonus for Sonic Lost World on Wii U, though.)

@@allenandrew2407 I’m not actually sure. I’ve never been to one before, but I think they’re all grocery stores. Though, I think there’s other stores under the “Kroger” brand, so they might have more varied wares at other stores.

I’m kind of mad about it, because the fact that it’s not on all the consoles that the game was released on. PC gamers are screwed over! I have a Switch, but I will not be buying the skin. Me personally, i cant really get nad at region locking, because lots of games have some sort of region exclusive content. hell, i even think back to the japanese and US box art covers for the older games

'Crash Bandicoot 4 Its About Time' set my expectations for what the custom skins would be like in Superstars lol NOPE What very few custom skins there were all got used for regional fomo marketting gimmicks before the game was even out, and as a result, there practically ARE no custom skins in the game. Seeeggaaa....

My problem is Superstars barely had unlockables to begin with and was hardly worth 60 USD to begin with. And yet it's got DLC SKINS?! Shameful.

The IHOP campaign was lazy. Just renamed normal menu items and the staff (maybe just our waitress) was uninformed about it. Couldn't even get the item I wanted because "it wasn't in the system" or something

Can't get the SOAP shoes in Frontiers, so when I play SA2 I turn on trial sonic. If I can't play them in the newer game, I don't want to play them in the older one

The issue is that sometimes they have some of the coolest dlc ideas but with the dumbest catches. I remember I got so excited for Origins but then I instantly forgot about it after all the news came out about the crappy DLC.

I am also in the opinion that Superstars should not have been the same price as Frontiers period.

Sonic DLC issue has been a thing since Transformed. If you're a console player, you'll be missing out on a lot of characters.

The way he mispronounced Kurone's name, being my absolute favorite vtuber I was definitely pumped how her dlc was exclusive to Japan, and the worst part is despite making that dlc partially to sweeten her to play the game she stopped playing halfway through Ares Island despite being both a big Sonic and Knuckles fan. Also, to make the wound worse, the soap shoes are available for free in Japan... I had to sign up to SEGA to get a special code and I missed out on the cartoon skins in Superstars because I don't live in the US, for real US users are spoiled.

@@AxionGaming2139 yep each character had 4 costumes each you could unlock by just playing and doing things in game and you could use them during replays of the story and multiplayer. Look up sonic rivals 2 costumes on Google metal sonic had a 3.0 costume and knuckles had eggmans suit on its pretty cool. It was a game for the psp.

@@AxionGaming2139 yep in rivals 1 and 2 you unlocked cards and you could unlock cool alternative skins while completing the story. If I remember correctly in 2 metal sonic had a cool 3.0 skin. It's been a while tho and it had 1v1 multiplayer.
