I wonder if someday maybe someone will take this implementation of sonic and build level design around it Even in the modern day this is some of the most tight classic sonic controls that exist, and this is _after_ sega reintroduced the drop dash which functionally acts like the dive kick attack... however it isn't cancellable and you lose acceleration before using it so _even then_

Act 2 is def Blast Hornet's theme from X3. The victory music (at stage clear) is the boss fanfare music from X5 or X6 (memory's hazy). Act 3's music is High Max's theme from X6.

That's funny, because (if I remember correctly) in the unused sprites,there was a ring sprite used. It showed sonic holding a ring, just like he did in SATAM. I think the power behind said ring was infinite speedshoes, Just like the show!

i did and im proud of it. how? the first 2 levels were eazy expect the boss in level 2 took 23 tries or smtn and the final stage you just try to learn a path by going the same way over and over until you are able to do it

The most frantic Sonic rom hack I've ever had the chance to play. I couldn't even get past the first stage at the time.

This is a work of art, both the run AND the hack itself!

Coming back to this and yep, I still wholeheartedly believe this is how 2D Sonic games should play, damn.

that ending scene was one of the most anxiety inducing but enjoyable things i’ve seen in weeks

The music is great and the boss fights look good, but the levels are far too linear. I like the idea of burning rings to do moves like double jumps and divekicks, which might explain why there's so many of them, and act 3's fire quickly drains your rings if you get close enough, something the ramps and loops actually FORCE. So there's a reason for the multitude. Also love the life bars on the boss.
