I love how in Wood Zone the Mantis enemies are just confused and don't attack.

These secret zones like rock blast zone is amazing so I like these zones!

I like what this mod was trying to do, but there's some things just don't really seem right. The zones should secret zones should be somewhat similar and different from each other (such as Emerald Hill Zone.) New bosses should've been used besides the ones in the base game, considering how pre-existing fan games nowadays likely have custom bosses since early release. This is a great start for the mod, but I know they can improve a bit at making it unique and original. Thanks for Thursday's upload man ✌🏾💯

This mod really is great, but there is some thoughts about the secret level transitions. Here, I got my own set of transitions. First off, I should remove Casino Night Zone Variants (Proto A, Proto B, and Emerald), leaving 3 new zones to be picked from the list. Here, I chose Tropical Plant Zone, Blue Lake Zone, and Olympus. Here's the complete list of secret transitions! Emerald Hill Zone's Pit should lead to Wood Zone. It kinda makes sense as Wood Zone's Level ID (02) is close to Emerald Hill Zone's (00). Chemical Plant Zone should have a tube leading to Tropical Plant Zone. Aquatic Ruin Zone Act 2 should have a pit leading to Olympus. Casino Night Zone Act 2 should have a pathway leading to Olympus. People might not like this, but Hill Top Zone Act 1's 1st Pit should lead you to Hidden Palace Zone. Oil Ocean Zone should have a pathway that leads to Blue Lake Zone. There should be a transition from Mystic Cave to Sand Shower Zone, as I don't think transitioning from Oil Ocean is the best idea. [Bonus: Sand Shower Zone should have Proto Oil Ocean's Music] I think this transition is okay: From Metropolis Zone Act 3's Pit to Cyber City Zone A. I think falling down from Sky Chase should transition you to Rock World. Rock World itself should then lead to Snowy Winter Zone, which then leads to Cyber City Zone B. Falling down from Airship Fortress should lead to Snowy Winter Zone. Death Egg Zone should have a pit that can lead you to Cyber City Zone B, for an alternate final fight and ending. Fun fact: If this was done, every zone in the game would have a secret area.

Oil Ocean into Sand Shower makes more sense, Oil Ocean takes place on a poorly managed oil refinery in the desert

@@oriongurtner7293 Now that I think about it, Mystic Cave Zone should have a transition to Blue Lake Zone, instead of Sand Shower Zone. What you have said is actually true, Oil Ocean Zone should indeed go to Sand Shower Zone. My earlier self thought it was weird transitioning from oil to sand. 😕

Honestly, Hill top's secret zone should have been Rock world, due to the backgrounds looking like they connect

This why I often like Beta versions better than originals,Looks like Sonic 2 was be much more of a bigger game till Sega removed a lot of the levels before its release

Let's just ignore the fact that besides Oil Ocean and Sky Chase, these transitions don't make any sense. Emerald Hill's secret zone transition would imply that Emerald Hill is in the sky. Also, I wish they made the bosses in these secret zones more original than just reusing the same bosses. Overall, kinda let down.

@@joeyedwardintal8211 well that wouldn't really make sense since Rock World has a sky as you can see in the background. If it was a cave bg instead, then I wouldn't mind it (it's practically using Mystic Cave's tileset anyways, so missed opportunity, it seems)

@@Theawesomesonic when making a rom hack you MODify the game files to change what the game is. It's literally the same thing you do to make mods for games that don't have a mod loader

There's some subtle updates to this from the last time I saw it! Specifically all the new cosmetic changes to Casino Night and the music in Sand Shower/Snowy Winter! They actually slowed the tracks down and used different instruments now which is really neat to see. While I definitely agree the the level transitions are a bit nonsensical I like what this is trying to do. Hopefully we'll see the updated demo of Time Quest soon to show us a take on the proper version of Sonic 2 we never got. 👌

All Secret Zone locations there could be in the next update : EHZ1: Dead-end tube after the start CPZ1: Dead end below and to the right of start CPZ2: Upper route just before boss now has tube ARZ1: Bottomless pit halfway through lower route ARZ2: Group of monitors near top of level now extended To be continued...

Here's my fanmade secret zones: water temple zone:a water zone where there's poisonous water close to the end of emerald hill. Relic waters zone: a construction in progress place where eggman factory's have been made and are getting destroyed by sewage water Wacky gadget zone: a place where you just gamble close to casino night

They didn't even create custom bosses for these zones. Ugh.
