Everything about playing as knuckles in Sonic 2 is great, except the final boss fight. Knuckles' one of the greatest weakness in the classic games is his jump height. It takes soem time to take down the Death egg robot with him...

playing on my real mega drive i just died on the final boss lol - first time I ever got all the choas emeralds too...his jump height is so bad!

Was blown away by being able to play as knuckles in that environment

Imagine being this good at the classics.

I appreciate that the eyes in the bushes indicating Knuckles were removed from the ending, since it wouldn't make sense for a Knuckles playthrough. Granted, you can say that Knuckles being here at all doesn't make sense, but at least there's not two of him. This isn't "Knuckles in Sonic 2 & Knuckles", after all. And no, I feel no shame for that no-effort joke there.

Nope, I used touchscreen controls. This was the original version for mobile devices made by Christian Whitehead & Simon Thomley in 2013 and the touchscreen controls are excellent. It's only the recent updated version under the "SEGA Forever" brand which has messed up the controls.

@@AlanTGP1 if you put a sonic & knuckles cartrige and a sonic the hedgehog 2 carrige on it, you get sonic the hedgehog 2 & knuckles on the mega drive/genisis. this does not work with sonic the hedgehog 1 however, but hey it gives a blue sphere mini game in sonic the hedgehog 1!

let me guess, you got stuck in the vertical shaft you drowned multiple times in? relatable. anyways just time a jump at the swirly ramps before the shaft and you could probably get up there, as knuckles you can just climb the wall in the shaft, tails flys but as sonic alone you might have to do this to spare pain
