Sonic 1: Mania is a Full Game Edit (Script) Mod for the 2013 version of Sonic 1, created by DNX.

Overview
Inspired from the art style of Sonic Mania, this mod utilizes some features as well as revamping the entire art style to mimic the game. Each of the zones, including the special stages, have been given a visual overhaul- ranging from effects and animations to new tiles/chunks and sprites.
Here's a list of features for the mod:
• Character animations fully ported over from Sonic Mania, with Mania-like smooth sprite rotation.
• Fully smooth animations for badniks and various level objects.
• New decor objects and props for zones.
• Fight against Eggrobo when playing as Knuckles.
• Character animations fully ported over from Sonic Mania.
• Some new visual and Sfx from Mania to add to the authenticity.
• New, unique palettes for each Special Stage.
This project is one of four games to be given the Mania treatment.
Others will follow in time.

In addition to the main mod, there's also the Sonic 1 Remixed Soundtrack mod, which simply replaces the original soundtrack with remixed ones.

Hello, I have been trying to use your mod with RSDK4 but it gives me graphical problems, if I put true in TxtScripts the game does not work, I only see a black screen. I have used the mobile versions of Sonic 1, what is needed for this mod to work correctly?

@@Quandle_dingle_jr Could you be more specific? I am using Data.rsdk file from mobile version with RSDKv4 version 1.3.1. And in the mod.ini I have put: Name=S1Mania Description=Sonic The Hedgehog (1991) Mania Author=DNX and De Gezonde Roker Version=2 texttexts = true SkipHomeMenu=false active = false This way I get the mod to work, but it doesn't let me access the menu where I can select the area, the character to play with or the number of emeralds, among other things. That menu was available in the previous version of this mod, but in the latest version I don't see a possible way to access that menu.

Love how this script mod was made to replicate the quality, visuals, and motion of Mania with the whole foundation based on Sonic 1, and I even prefer it over the HD remakes from long ago or recently.
I can’t believe what I’m looking at… an entire mania version of sonic the hedgehog, THIS IS INCREDIBLE, ITS EVEN A FINISHED FULL GAME!
This is how i thought sonic origins would have been like! Not just a straight up PORT of the mobile rereleases
Can't wait for Sonic 2 Mania and Sonic 3 & Knuckles mania!!

Even if we wanted to pay for something like this, Sega isn't interested in doing anything else with Sonic Mania, otherwise we would have had a Sonic Mania 2 by now. In may ways we were lucky that Sega worked with the Mania team to make it an official release. And Mania was way better than Generations. The GameGear Sonic games could have been brought over to a modern/retro era, which would have been something many would have been interested in. Triple Trouble was modded with Mania and looked like something worth buying. The big N lost out on so many opportunities to support and monetize many fan projects like AM2R, various Pokemon games, and more recently PC ports like Link's Awakening DX and Zelda 2 Link's Adventure Extended.

dude I fought it was a mania mod for a second absolutely impressive I just realize we can turn sonic 1/2 2013 as sonic mania
Some of the visuals seem to be going at too high of a framerate post-Green Hill, like water shimmering and waterfalls. This still looks really great overall though
This game was so much more impressive as a romhack if i'm being honest.

@@ibis03 yes it is. And if you really want to go there the word I used was impressive, not better. It's way more impressive to make a Genesis game more like mania that has to run on a Genesis then a PC game that can run on a pc

@@littlemacisunderrated412 that ROM-hack has worse music, badly-made sprites and many glitches. If there is something that's good about that hack, it's the DropDash ability, but this mod has it too. That'd be very nice of you if you told me what else is actually good about that ROM-hack

The red Chaos Emerald kinda looks like a gem shaped cherry candy. 🤤🍒❤️
One downside about this game is that the extra life jingle is a little bit loud overall this mod looks amazing
Could you do a video on how to install and play mods. I'm waiting on HD 2 remake next. Once that come out, and I finally figure out how to install mods for games, I have my own Sonic trilogy outside of Origins.

The way I was able to get this to work was from reading someones comment on the mod page. You have to open Settings.ini and make sure "TxtScripts" is set to "True" and not "False".

@@jaypin88- Hello, Im also having trouble and I tried the txtscripts set to true and all I get when I try and start sonic 1 is script parsing failed operand not found Priority_active line number 401 error in title/logo.txt im using the decompiled APK of sonic 1 from my android phone along with Rubberduckycoolys RSDK5 v1.3.2 and RSDK mod manager as there are no real instructions on how to actually get this working or even how any of this is done. Any Ideas on whats the problem? I have managed to get the game to start with txtscripts set to false BUT once green hill starts there is either nothing there but the background and it goes to game over OR it does load but a lot of it is glitched and you cant get very far as it just buggs out completely.
