This a best fantasy colony builder made by human being. Few simple rules for nice start: 1. Always let at least 10-15 people work as laborers or you will build your buildings for ages. Later those people will work in your workshops because workshops without workers are useless. 2. Don't set more than 2 construction sets simultaneously if you want to build it fast. 3. Set your food income as soon as you build warehouse at the very start. The easiest way - just build hunter, he will hunt wildlife and produce food for whole colony for at least 3-5 years straight. 4. Don't let your people have max resources at the "Access" at the start of the game. They will take a lot of resources to decorate their homes and it will massively slow down your building speed. Gosh, after trying so many other 4x games, I still come back to SoS. This games a true gem. Can't wait for 1.0 release

A very thematic little village! It's always interesting seeing what people will make in this game.

Yeah! The graphics aren't the main interest. I've discovered it a week ago, and I have 20 hours on it. As a hardcore fan of games like Factorio, Pillars of Eternity and Sim City, it's all about creating systems, establishing strategies, organizing resources, etc. Excel tables with a pretty theme. What's most interesting is the potential of such this game. I already envision some mods I could make to make the experience even more expansive and fun.

Got this game yesterday. This is gonna be another 1000+ hour one.

This game actually seems interesting! I had seen you make videos of this before, but I had judged it too soon based on the graphics & the overall design. I see now that it is as you have said, it takes a bit of getting used to, but it is not bad at all. 😁

Hey you can probably dig out a lot of your land to make it more swampy.

Love this game, much like Rimworld I enjoy failing at it over and over. No matter how many times I play or what race I chose I have yet to find a build I like, also never made it past the 300s of population I think 389ish is my current record so close yet so far but one day I will make it. Love throwing your playthrough on in the background and listening to it as I play have watched this and the second episode at least 4 times each in their entirety thank you for playing some long form videos without excessive commercials.

I got to the 1000s, but it gets exponentially harder to keep things stable, you always need more workers, and you always need more food to feed the new workers, and then you always need more science so you don't start losing tech. I have no idea if the late game is just badly balanced or its just THAT hard.

How do I recruit an army on world map now? Do I have to make an army from my city forces the. Send them out?

On the overworld map go to armys tab click recruit then click on you land or city and boom army. Form there recruit men and supply em with army depos... or jest do what I do and use mercenaries for early stuff as I don't need to supply em.

Do your cities persist in the world after you’re done with them like in DF

hmmm, the world map looks very much like Europe. The location of your city is near the country of Bulgaria, and in that country there is a city named Sliven... interesting

im an old vanilla DF fan, ive been thinking hard what to waste my first 1000hours first. Songs of Syx or DF steam?.

Why commercials every 3-4 minutes? It's ridiculous.

Oh wow! Can't believe you took away all the nature in the housing complexes! Just drab dirt in the center now? UGH! Janitors also have a radius that they can reach, it was 75 or 150 blocks? Says somewhere on it. But you definitely need more janitor buildings! Ah, you finally copied it to a place where it might fix your lab...

I don't recommend the demo at all, I may be slightly outdated in this response but when I tried this game's demo, liked it and went to buy it, it was a completely different experience from what I had seen in the demo, I did not enjoy it at all what they did to research

@@danilooliveira6580 it now requires a pool of research points in order to research new stuff, you need to make several new research rooms to increase growth as every tech increases the cost, last time I playes. Plus other several small things I didnt enjoy, wish the demo wasnt so outdated.

the user interface was designed by a blind guy. Rimworld is so much better.
