The Irula tribe, Kerala's second-largest, resides in the stunning Attapady region of Palakkad district. Their community thrives across 192 settlements within three panchayats: Agali, Sholayoor, and Pudhur.
Known for their agricultural expertise, the Irula cultivate various crops like paddy, ragi, dhal, plantains, chilies, and turmeric.
The Irulas hold deep spiritual beliefs, worshipping Malleswaram Kadavul Swami, a deity believed to reside on the majestic Malleswaram peak.
