Songo.info - A Success Story
Спорт
Specialized proudly supports songo.info, a South African social development program that provides sport and recreational activities to children, offering a safe place to play and grow, establishing values of accountability and responsibility, teaching goal setting, and instilling in children the ability to dream and go out and achieve their goals.
Here's the story of Theo Ngubane, a young rider who became the first black South African to compete at the UCI Downhill World Championships. Theo is supported by the songo.info program. Specialized South Africa, Christoph Sauser, and songo.info founder Songo Fipaza are inspired by Theo's ongoing journey.

@1:29 I dont like how he says coming from nothing. I understand materially, among other things people have much less but to say he came from NOTHING implies negativity and completely takes any good things in the township such as the people and his family out of the equation. These people are us we are all the same. The difference is the stuff. We are not our things. Peace and congrats to him for his determination and ability to compete nationally.
I would love to join songo but I don't leave in Stellenbosch 🥺😭💔
I wont one bike to please
I'm a bit jelous
exactly... he whole idea of if he was white it wouldnt matter is a terrible stereotype. everyone keeps preaching equality and yet they go and say how great it is that this black kid did this. that very statement is contradicting them
ok the kids black big point i seem to be missing here it shouldnt matter if he is black now should it as i am told everyday of my life it doesnt maytter aabout the colour of your skin or where you are from so why the big deal
I'm guessing you don't know the history of South Africa.
this annoyes me this kid is better clothed than me he gets handed this opertunity and hes so slow here i am on my bodged bighit 07 and im faster than him for a start and hes on one of the most wanted bikes i would do pretty much anything to race for specialized it tells us that he keeps pushing him self he didnt look like he was pushing that hard open to critasism and yes i know my spelling is crap

+imtheheretic666 , It was bigger then the bike. It was about pushing and believing in what you want. and most of all it was opening up a new possibility for other black guys who wanted to ride downhill or race mtb for that matter. it was alot bigger then the kid but more about the future. And like the other guy wrote in the comments, if you understand the history of SOUTH AFRICA then you will understand why it had to happen. THEOPHILLUS NGUBANE.

what the history like the culling of white people the white people who tried helping them and put alot of infrastructure in and if you’re on about history as well then the whole planet should be looked at this way because there has been a lot of thing happen around the world you know besides in south Africa and as well like i said just because of where he is from or the colour of his skin it should make a difference like you said he wanted to do it so he did so then why is he getting so much for it when that what alot of people do from around the world have to do to get where they want to be but i thought that was just common sense like,
What a legend!
