I loved that the ribbons on the ceiling turned Yellow in the memories of the victims of the tragedy with water in the background referring to the tragedy and commemorating them and then the ribbons turned purple for BTS and ARMY. Finally turning white for peace. This performance was beautiful

And what exactly does "a painting" look like? Every painting looks different and not all paintings look pretty. As an art student, saying that someone looks like a painting just makes no sense to me. And why would angels (which are mythical/biblical figures of western cultures and not traditional Korean anything) sound like a woman who sings in a traditional Korean manner? She looks and sings like herself, who is an amazing and heart-touching artist.

2024 still listening to this at least 2 times a week. Her voice is down right magical.

The BTS original version is already in itself beautiful. But this one brings another feeling of heartbreaking nostalgia. The vocal technique is also unique.

You know... I've been thinking A girl only as old as Jungkook, with such an incredible voice, won a national competition at the age of 11, face no less pretty than that of an idol, instead of going to the normal, easier to be famous pop route, she chose to learn gugak and preserve her nation's heritage. How proud South Korea must be to have such a talented singer like her. Edit: I'm sorry for my ignorance. I've edited the genre from pansori to gugak. I assumed she was singing pansori because, in the interview section, BTS mentioned about pansori. In no way I assume that idol groups have it easier. I know idol trainees are practising very hard and even some didn't get to debut or debuted only for a short time. What I meant by famous was that pop genre (in this case k-pop group) usually has more fans both locally and internationally as supposed to other genres like k-hip-hop, k-band, or even traditional music. They appeared much more often on music shows, doing concert around the world, and usually deemed more 'sellable to the market' by agencies. Because of that, I respect her for taking the non-generic route and in a sense also preserve her nation's heritage. Hopes this clarifies my intention! Sorry if some wording isn't proper since English is my second language.

The route to be an idol is in no way simpler than the route she took. Idols don't have it easy in any way. She went this route because she wanted to and not to disparage idols. There are great talents in both arenas, they're just different genres.

@@Theoanno7 op was not saying that idols don't have it easy, just that they believed idols are more likely to be famous as opposed to a traditional pansori singer. I can definitely see where they are coming from as idol kpop music is much more widespread/global as opposed to pansori, which is probably known mostly in Korea or among people outside of Korea who are particularly interested in traditional Korean culture.

@@charlieko9527 I did read the post hence my response. To your point, the % of trainees who don't make it to debut, or who debut and still don't make it is way bigger than those who do. It's still the less glamorous choice. If anything, Miss Song choosing the less traveled route guaranteed her success since there is little to no competition. She enjoys national and international acclaim deservedly.

spring day is one of my favorite songs of all time, Song So Hee's version also made it to my favorites list. We can feel the emotions as she sings. The ambience with the tree and the mist helps, but even with our eyes closed it's awesome. The back vocals are amazing too ♡

maybe because in a sense, spring day is not necessarily a hard song to sing, thus it's also not that hard to make a rendition out of it,. whereas the other song such as fake love is really complicated,. but i have to agree, her version is quite phenomenal,. the kind that captures someone easily and deeply,.

She’s a pansori and gugak singer so she sang it differently. :) another note for pansori is that it’s like one of the oldest way of telling stories to people. like during the old times. So it’s common for a pansori song to be about longing, an uprising or revolution. :) Anyway, if you research about sohee, she’s considered as a national treasure bc she started singing pansori at a very young age and she chose that career, even at school-til now!!! So basically her whole life is dedicated to pansori. :) you should watch her performances and interviews! She’s a gem! ❤️❤️❤️

@@alijoc yup it's called pansori, traditional korean storytelling, you can hear it in her beginning vocals at the end of a verse, and during the chorus it's at full blast. her dress too looks like a hanbok from afar but a classy suit from closer look

it’s lovely because the lyrics RM has written for this song are truly something else. it’s gorgeous with rap but something about the song just deserves to be read and sang like poetry. his lyrics are poetry.

So I'm learning about Pansori myself since I love the way it sounds but Pansori is a way of story telling through singing For honor, deaths, love, and tradition. I think I'm still learning so please don't come for me if I'm wrong

Today, I remembered this song again in my ear. Is it the person who passed away in Myanmar, or is it because I love this cover song too much? Everyone likes it differently, but this cover song is much more down-to-earth than the original one

She really put a different spin on it and made me cry...❤

Goosebumps. She just gave Spring Day and BTS the justice both deserves.

This version of Spring Day literally is a masterpiece. I was so mad she didn't win. Her voice is amazing, full of emotion. I never imagined that the song could be even more sad. Great performance, one of my favorite.

My favorite interpretation of BTS Immortal Songs was from SWJA who sang Fake Love, and Song So Hee singing Spring Day, is chilling, I don't know how she managed to give so much feeling to a song, whenever I hear the part of Tae and Jin (when the choir enters) I can’t hold back the tears, it’s perfect!!!!

Back listening to this on the anniversary. It seems fitting.

I'm not used to this type of singing, but damn, that was beautiful. Shows that music, no matter language or style, can hit the feels deep. Had chills throughout the performance.

Its like she's singing this song for the unfortunate events this year. It made me cry :(

@@tiarakusuma1132 yes, the song is known to be the tribute for the Sewol victims, as it's about longing and missing for the loved ones. What is so sad and emotional about this cover is that, if you understand the Korean language, it is improvised with added lyrics of "I miss you... Just wait a little bit... just wait for a few days...until I go there to meet you...I'll come to get you.. " which is heartbreaking to listen, if you've lost loved ones and longing for them

That was beautiful yet heartbreaking! Goosebumps and tears especially when the choir joined her. Outstanding!

Beautiful arrangement. Her voice really sang out to those souls.

Her version feels like wanting to see and missing someone you'll never meet again. 5:14 "Just a little bit more.." feels like she's begging to let her meet that person although it is impossible. Almost there but still can't reach him.

She is mesmerizing

This brings tears to my eyes... Spring Day is such a classic timeless song..

Just like SeokJin said: "When you're sad, listen to a sad song so you'll feel sadder"

I can proudly say, this was THE BEST Spring Day Cover, if I didn't stan BTS I would've guessed that this was an original song of hers. Amazing.

The way she sing this song is just AMAZING!

The way she sang it, it's like she's a princess who has been separated from her childhood best friend because she had to be a princess at 13 and her friend was a servant child so they can't mingle and stay friends. It's such beautiful storytelling she captured the emotion beyond well

@@persona_1013 Idk if bst cover and fake love cover were in the same ep but I watched every BTS songs covers on the show and yes the DNA one was good but nothing beats Spring Day cover, Fake Love cover, and BST cover... congrats to Sonnet Son (her powerful voice was amazing) and Alexa but too bad none of the three covers I mentioned won, especially Spring Day and Fake Love...
