    Great book but historicaly inaccurate. They were best friends

    That's the whole story. The book is no history book. It is a romance book. It does not need to be historically accurate.

    How is it historically inaccurate if The Illiad is a tale 😅 A story with MANY different versions; since mythological stories used to be told orally, there wasn't a consensus on only one version of an individual tale And some of those versions see Achilles and Patroclus as lovers

    Well in that time they didn't have the same concept of "gay"/"straight"/"bisexual" in the first place so clearly this book is looking through a contemporary view of their relationship and also through the lense of it being a "romance novel" so obviously some parts would be exaggerated or made up. It is still possible that they could've had a homoerotic friendship
