The story actually requires casting an older female lead star & a younger male lead actor because she's a woman who had been through marriage, been divorced & is now a company CEO while the man is a fresh college graduate who's just starting on his first office job. I'm loving 'Encounter' so very, very much!

@@plastic_cleopatra Tbh, that was maybe the only part of this beautifully written story which took me off a bit. He does not behave like a 29-year-old man. He behaves like a 24-year-old fresh uni graduate. A bit childish in many cases. Also how realistic is that he has never been in love and never had a girlfriend? Is he a 29-year-old virgin? 😁

Loved this drama a lot.

The drama was tailored fit for Hye Kyo and Bo Gum. They played their respective role so well. It is 2022 and I am still watching it over and over again together with bogummy's other dramas and movies but "Encounter" is my ultimate favorite because I always see a lot of Bogummy's angelic smile. I loved him more after watching his interviews and reality shows. I hope that someday everything in YT be with (English) subtitles. More power, God bless to all cast of the drama, another one, please?

I think the story is a whole as it is. There's nothing more to tell. I fear if they try to add another season they will lessen the value of the original material.

The age gap issue become nothing once we watch the drama, that's how powerful their on-screen chemistry is. I admit I doubted at first, then they prove me wrong. I ended up loving them tgt

This movie series was soul searching in many ways. Where love exists age difference doesn’t. A beautiful series to watch and give hope to everyone that love conquers all if we only let it…..very very emotional to watch💜🌈. Actors were superb

I was so satisfied with the pace! Finally you are given proper time to think and feel and scenes are not rushed because there's not enough air time. I really loved it.

I usually don't like slow burn romance but Encounter is an exception. To me it was an experience, it was like watching a poem come to life. Definitely one of the best kdramas out there. It's light, cute but at the same time it's very heart fluttering. It leaves a mark on you after finishing it.

Brilliant collaboration between PBG & SHK, I've always enjoyed watching both of their craft. I read somewhere that the response towards 'encounter' wasn't encouraging. Well if it is true maybe those viewers wasn't mature enough to understand this kind of love story where responsibility & sacrifices minus the lust are the kind that will stand to the test of time. My salutation to PD Park Shin Woo who cast PBG & SHK in this drama, both were brilliant actors that I love to watch & I hope to see more of them together on other collaborations well done! Love from Singapore.

It's not that they are not mature they are just the toxic fans of song jong ki who are dying of jealousy which I don't understand since long before she got married she was and is an actor first and haters ofcourse. Yet they were giving all these negative and nasty comments and hoping for the drama to fail. What a pity.

Actually I'm not in to with romantic drama but my friend recommend me to watch "encounter " and I'm falling in love with this drama... The main characters both of them too perfect, the stories smooth and excellent... Give me more drama with them as the main characters, and for PD who has cast them you do a great job!

Through so many trials & tribulations, true love and patience conquered it all. He always made her smile and that's what he wanted to see - her smiles which made her happy and sweet.

To be honest this is my second k-drama that I'm watching after "Chicago Typewriter" and honestly just watching this from the promos itself, I was intrigued and attracted by the casting and their chemistry from the word go. So, in my personal view, this is a perfect casting 👏👏👏

I didn't realize when I watched it for the first time but he managed to play the differences in the character's personality so well. In Cuba he is a kind but absolutely confident and polite young man who happens to help out a beautiful older woman who he encounters on his last day of a trip. He is casual and showing openness to start a romantic relationship with her without hesitation. (Wanting to ask whether she has a boyfriend.) When he goes to work his attitude changes. He goes back to a fresh uni graduate and whenever he meets her he behaves like an inexperienced young student so his character is having a "step back". Then as his confidence grows as the story goes he slowly changes back into a young man who is now determined to fight for his love and protect what is dear to him, no matter what. It's probably the result of great directing, very good script and of course amazing casting. Judging buy his public interviews, his real life personality is very close to the character's.

I am on my second viewing. She states she is in her mid-thirties in the show, so the age gap in the show isn't that large (even though in real life the age difference is 10 years). I think it is absolutely lovely and every woman wants a man like the character played by Park Bo Gum. The chemistry between the two is palpable. Who could have played the characters better?

If it was filmed in 2018 then she was around 37-38 (born in 1981) and he was around 24-25 (born in 1993). This is not a huge age difference at all.

So true, Song Hye Kyo and Jang Ki Yong from Now We Are Breaking Up are being criticized for their age difference even though their chemistry was so hot. They are the best looking couple in Korea, so beautiful and handsome. One of her haters accused Song Hye Kyo of going out looking for young costars, imagine the hate they have. A lot of haters are fans of the ex and they don’t like her at all, a lot are quite vicious.

Unfortunately no, maybe because of controversies arose when thy did this serie... Malicious thoughts and speculations ruined the mood of the characters that's why I think both parties were not excited to promote this serie.. I think, it was a good decision not to hype to avoid further destruction of their reputation....

He was good friends of the couple, he did a solo at their wedding, but the nasty rumors started to fly and it got so bad they both hired attorneys to stop the media from all the lies. Not sure if he’s still friends with the ex now.

The story is not complicated. There is no rollercoaster emotions. You will just fall in love. But sometimes that simplicity is just what a romance drama needs. And I've seen so many romance drama but this drama had the MOST romantic scenes. As in every episode is full of romantic scenes especially when they started dating already.
