because the bar is so INCREDIBLY low for sweden, prob as tall as a toddler while we norwegians need to borrow an iron man suit to get over our bar.

This song reminds me of Lost in Japan by Shawn Mendes, but maybe it's just me. Well... I hope the other semis will be better.

That Potato This is MGP 60 year anniversary so they decided to make 5 semis with artists in each semi from that region of Norway (south, east, west, north and sentral). They also decided that 5 artists (each from one of the regions) where pre-chosen by a listen-group of music people. I dont really know the criteria but probably a mix of the most known artist and the songs they think are the best(??). It doesn’t have to be the best songs though. I think its stupid cause why should some of them get a free pass. They could instead have sent 2 from each semi.

Harry Howes-Watson No it doesnt. Sounds completely different. I had to check and I dont know how you can compare them. They have absolutely no simiarities...not the same melody, nothing!

Think it’s mostly about production quality (and vocals) with the pre-qualifiers, which of the others only «wild» kinda had imo, even tho I likewise enjoyed them all. I think they’re aiming for a final with only the acts no one would be even slightly embarrassed over, were they actually to be sent, rather than risking sending something catchy and loveable but otherwise low quality if that makes sense.

758sss they kinda did actually lol.. behind almost every major pop song released during the past three decades there’s a Swede involved in the production. They are obviously very talented when it comes to making catchy songs. This song may have a typical Swedish sound to it, but there’s nothing wrong with that. I will never be insulted by comments like the one above, after all it’s a compliment ;-) I’m Norwegian btw so I’m not biased haha

He's a bit stale

This is what I call a Motown-esque song, albeit a poor effort at a Motown-esque song; one could call this rather lame effort a "pound shop" Motown-esque song. So far I've watched the first eight of the ten MGP Norway 2020 finalists, and of the videos I've seen so far, there are better songs in the line-up.
