Just heard this song for the first time tonight. I am a 26 year male and I was brought to absolute tears (sobbing) about 1 minute into this song - when I stopped what I was doing (studying) and listened to the lyrics. I got a rush of chills, as I look down at my arms goosebumps plucking up the hair on my arm. Listening to it a third time tonight - I feel tears start to well up in my eyes - I still get chills. I can't describe how touching this song is to me. I can't think of a song that has resonated with with me to this level. Its so incredibly sad and touching. I have never had a serious girlfriend but for whatever reason this song speaks to me and I do not know why. People have said that "music speaks to to their soul" and I never really understood that until now. Until tonight.

This is truly why I think Power Metal is the greatest sub-genre & truly one of the most diverse in music today. When they wanna be sad, they're sad. When they wanna be happy, they're happy. When they wanna be 180+bpm in your fucking face blinding tempos, they are. Ranging from themes of love, death, playfulness, modesty.. seriously, *HOW AND WHY IS THIS MUSIC STILL SO OVERLOOKED IN TODAY'S WORLD*!!!

I must say, there is nothing wrong with this becoming mainstream if it ever will. It's still the same awesome music that we all hear and to be honest, I'd rather this be mainstream than what kind of music is considered mainstream at this point in time. But yes, I can agree that it is nice that a small audience can get together and enjoy good music :)
@TheHeavyModd
8 жыл бұрын
+DantheHobnob The way I see it, music is not all about music, sadly. In today's society, "mainstream music" is popular because of the social depth it has: people want to be socially active, they want to communicate in many way, they want to have a link to others. Mix this with the sick sexual and social role models we have today, and we get Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber and all of those other horrid "artists". I myself have found that almost every kind of music is appealing if I have a positive first impression on it, or if it fits my "musical ideals" (the way I want to experience music, the kind of music with what I identify myself). For example, I listen a lot of game music, J-pop, J-rock and classical music, mostly because that's part of who I am, while in truth, I could honestly listen to all kinds of different genres and bands (like this one band here).

"it´s easier to live alone than fear the time it´s over", that´s deep and very emotional, and the intersting thing is that depending on how you look at the lyrics you may get the feeling that it´s not only something about a date but also a relative that you love.
278 people were trying to hit "Like", but they had their eyes full of tears and couldn't see well the screen.. (I'm taking in serious consideration the idea to call my daughter Tallulah.)
Man..for anyone who's been in a bad breakup after a long, happy relationship. Its really hard not to cry while listening to this.

Always been a fan of Sonata Arctica, ever since I first got into metal as a 12 year old. I had never imagined one of my favorite songs of theirs would hit SO close to home.
A fucking awesome and epic ballad, one of the best ballads ever, this song reminds me of the amazing time I had while living in Finland...Finland rocks!!

Sonata Arctica was the first metal band i listened to. For 2 years, I was only listening to them and I tried something else, like folk metal and just other metal bands. I think that only 2 bands can just blow my mind and Sonata Arctica is the first. Wintersun is the second but their discography isn't enought devlopped. I can listen to them 24/7. Thank you Tony Kakko
This band is in my heart, I remember when I was 14 or 15 years old listening to these songs. Nice memories🥀
One of the few songs that randomly makes me cry just because of the lyrics, the music. Very few. How can he sing it... so sadly... with so much feel...? Damn, got something in my eye.
Oh my! SONATA thats was long ago.. Love you!😍❤💪
i have won several karaoke contests with this song, so awesome lyrics and tells about my past life very well, great song!!!
I dont always like romantic sad musics, but when I do its from Sonata Arctica =))
love that song
"I lost my patience once, so do you punish me now " This line makes special emotion on me... sometimes when we realise some crap things we do, it's already to late. She has moved away :S... we just have to keep moving

All my teenage angst about being overall undesirable and all my infatuations being hopelessly unrequited... Man, this brings me back. Nothing much has changed, and yet everything has. Thanks Sonata Arctica.

I've listened to so many rock and metal ballads, but this one will remain one of the best for me.
The first song i learned to play on the piano. Listening to Sonata Arctica since junior high 13 years now and they announced that they finally come to greece in 5 months ! Bought my tickets first day of sale ... can't believe i'll hear this song live . I have been to other concerts but that will be special ! Thank you Sonata for all those years can't wait to finally hear you !
02:56 still touch's everyone' heart
20106 and i'm still loving this song.
There are songs that have made me sad. This one and Letter to Dana are the only ones that bring me close to tears.
Damn it, why do you need to make me cry all of the time, Sonata Arctica? I guess it is your uncanny ability to capture the frequent tragedy that is involved with living truly.
This is my Chinchilla's favorite song.
When i broke up with my girlfriend, i heard this song in my mind, i was huggin her whe she was waiting for the bus to go home, and then i started crying, thinking "please, stay just like that and don't look back" After she left, i started crying and singing the chorus. We are still friends and i still love her, at least i can share new happy moments with her, but it isn't the same. thanks for reading this (if you did) and don't kill me because of my english :)

I listened to this song at work when my relationship with my ex-boyfriend was about to end. We had a turbulent relationship, we didn’t want the same thing in our relationship(he wanted to enjoy life before settling down, and I wanted to enjoy life while settling down) etc... especially since he was in love with someone else, and I was just a replacement... When he broke up with me, I related to this song. A few weeks after I met my current boyfriend in school, and today we have a son together. Sure, things have been tough. But what I’m trying to say is that true love awaits for you who have been heartbroken. I promise☝🏻❤️

Man, there's something magical in power metal... Especially in so heart touching ballads... I'm sure most of the sensitive man have gone through this dark path of the lyrical hero in this song. So sad...
