That’s exactly what people wanted like @gabecollins5585 said. I’ve always said they need to have an app for mobile devices like Turtle Beach and Razer. So much easier and quicker to simply pair your headset via Bluetooth to your phone, make your adjustments and simply save it to the headset

about to return them due to this great headphones for pc but bought them for both my last gen astro saved profiles to the headphones this sucks.

Been using Sonar on PC to both EQ my mic and run different sound channels for about 6 months or so now. It's awesome. Crashes occasionally but other than that I love it. The AI Noise Suppression for the mic EQ is by far the best implementation of noise suppression I've ever used.

Great update for console players. Thanks for sharing this with us all.

Great video again man 👏 Do you think this update brings the nova Pro’s in line with the turtle beach stealth pro’s for fps games and footsteps? Or would you say the turtle beach software keeps them ahead? I’m gonna buy one of these headsets for my ps5, I only play call of duty warzone games. @GadgetryTech You and I have similar hearing, so you might like this. I tried this new EQ on the Nova 7 with slight differences and I have to say it sounds pretty cool For the Nova 7 in GG Engine from left to right as follows -10, -3, +6, +1, +2, 0, 0, +3, +4, +1.5 Strangely still sounds like it has nice bass. To summarise how this sounds to me, it sounds similar to your original Nova 7 EQ, but with less bass and a little added clarity for footsteps. Your original Nova 7 EQ sounds really good as well, but with more bass and I think I’ll switch to your EQ when playing racing and story games

I have the wicked cushions and currently using your EQ for the nova pro with WC. Have you tested to see if any of the MW2/WZ2 or FPS foot step pre sets are worth using? Thanks!

When I purchased the steel series pro wired for my ps5, they sent me a email to let them know what could they do to make it better. I complained about sonar not being on console so here we are one step at a time baby

Steelseries released a 10 band graphical EQ with presets for specific games and not the full blown Sonar's "parameteric" 10 band EQ which only works on PC still. They only changed the 6 bands to 10 bands graphical EQ via the Engine and they created extra presets for specific games. However the magic happens with the parameteric EQ native functions.

Would you be doing more Console Custom EQ Presets for various games? The GameDAC Presets provided with newer updates do miss out some of my games. I'm a Battlefield fan and would love some good Console Custom GameDAC EQ settings for Battlefield releases 1, 5 and 2042

A step in the right direction but it's still just someone's view of what the eq needs to be. Wouldn't replace the Custom setting if I had these. Maybe full Sonar type functionality will be possible one day.

Very good review believe it or not I had these headsets and I returned them back and got the new turtle beach headset when I saw what they did with the new update. I went back and purchased it today I play rainbow six siege one of the things I like about it they have FPS for footsteps.

I been using your custom pre set with the wicked cushion. Should I stop using that and use thr MW preset instead?

The MWII Preset is super good for MWIII. I still use my own custom tuning still for FPS games though.

@@suscj4469correct, you can edit them as much as you want on a PC but the info won’t carry over to consoles.

You can make a custom eq in the engine aswel, you have any good one for console warzone ?

I got rid of that headset when I saw that update. I went to buy a new one again today. I just finished updating it I like it.

I actually love this headset but my problem was with the microphone on Xbox. everybody would trash my microphone constantly so I got rid of them.( Got the stealth pro which saved my settings) does this allow any microphone presets to transfer to dac to use on xbox?

Would the KSC75s be even more better with Sonar Eq coming out for Ps5?

I noticed just got this headset because all the reviews were great and tired of having wired astro a40's. I love it so far it seems like I can't hear a difference between the different presets am I missing something. These somewhat have a tin can sound compared to my Astro's and I know it is just a setting I must be missing.

Why not do what Razer does and implement the app on Xbox. Other than that hope they add more games with Sonar. My wish is Armored Core 6 since they game has crazy bass.

So if I’m understanding correctly; I need to hook my DAC up to my laptop, download and update steelerseries GG, and then I will have access to these numerous other presets and be able to use them on my Xbox or PlayStation?

For those interested, I do want to point out the audio quality of the gamedac gen2 is a good amount better than that of an Xbox controller’s headphone jack. So you are definitely not just paying for eq. However, I do want to note there is a pretty substantial latency hit when using the dac on Xbox. It’s bearable, and you get used to it, but if you are super competitive just keep that in mind.

^ Make sure you are not using Dolby atmos on Xbox. Gamedac has its own method of processing game sound & double mixing your equalizer settings isn’t good in general.

@@Twist-kj2fb I half agree with you. I dislike the EQ on dolby anyway, so I turned it off. However, Dolby isn't just an EQ. It's also a different way that audio gets processed. For example, in my experience, positional cues are better with dolby on, even with the dolby EQ's off.

I don't understand whats new there? With my Nova 7 I can set a custom preset since day 1 that will be saved on the headset, so it will be used on console. Works very good, only downside is, that you need to connect to your pc and do the setup before you can use it on ps5, with pro and the dac this is different. But in general it was possible the whole time...

@@g33k51ndr0m3 I had the logitech g pro x wireless and the astro a50 before and I think the Nova 7 is way better than these. I initially upgraded for the bluetooth but then noticed that it is better in every way.

@GadgetryTech So Joe if it’s all uploaded onto GG Engine with the latest update, wouldn’t these EQ profiles show on Nova 7 via GG Engine? Because all they’ve done really is, give us the closest matching EQ with GG Engine tuning, so technically all these new profiles should be on there regardless of whichever SteelSeries headset you use that’s compatible with GG Engine If it is compatible with the Nova 7, it should sound good, because Nova 7 default sound is quite close to what the Nova Pro Wireless sound, but with more accurate bass I’ll update the GG Engine and see what it shows on there, but hopefully it will show all that for the Nova 7, if not I took a screenshot of the COD MW2 profile, so I can adjust it myself and see how it sounds and I can fine tune it myself if any particular frequency sounds weird

@@flexmcgee8429 I’ve updated the GG Engine, but it still doesn’t show on the EQ profiles for Nova 7. However, I’ve done the same EQ shown in this video and it’s actually better for footsteps in COD. I wasn’t aware until recently that the footsteps in COD is in the 110Hz-140Hz region, so although my previous EQ was still really good for footsteps, now it’s excellent Sorry I don’t play PUBG, but if PUBG is on Sonar, you can go on Sonar and have a look at their PUBG profile, see which frequencies are adjusted and you’ll get a good idea on how to adjust the EQ on GG Engine

@@GadgetryTech Can you make a review on the Qudelix-5K Reference DAC AMP I have the headset nova 7 and I play on PlayStation currently don’t have a dac I know I can get the GAMEDAC GEN 2 and use the sonar but I do know that the qudelix -5x eq can be adjusted from a phone and still have Parametric EQ is there a big difference in sound quality for console players depending on the route they go

Dang, I was hoping it was PEQ

it is awesome that they did that..until ii realized it is only for a select percentage of users.... only giving it to the nova pros or those with a gamedac makes me feel like they helped those that spent more money instead of just doing it for every headset in GG. I mean it has been years that console has been asking for an app or some upgrade to help us optimize our headsets better than the crap presets they give but we never here any feedback. I enjoy the hell out of the headsets but the lack of attention and updates that console players get it sad and disappointing, especially when we know they have the ability to fix it but chose not to. but great video for those able to take advantage of this update

You might be better off getting a soundblaster g6 instead of a gamedac lol. Gamedac isn’t powerful enough. I guess if you don’t have a pc to tweak the sbx g6 you might gravitate towards the gamedac, but at that point I’d just get a qudelix.

I've had my G6 for over four years now,it's amazing,I recently purchased a schiit stack thinking it would be better it's not,it's louder but not better,but I've not sent the schiit stack back I use it with my music system in another room,the G6 takes some beating if you get a good one!
