This beautiful song was played at my brother’s funeral- I chose it because it spoke to how I felt about his death at the time… he suffered with mental illness through depression over a long period of time. He lost the love of his life a year before his passing… he died of a brain tumour but I believe he died of a broken heart… his grief was so all consuming. He passed in 2012 but I still think of him every single day. Miss you Nic. Love always and forever your big sis 🙏💕😌

My son died and this song helps me with my grief

I have a very painful and at times debt illness called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. At times I can’t move without being in unbelievable pain. But when I listen to this version of this beautiful song my body moves almost pain free. Like I was on a beautiful tropical island just listening to this amazing and uplifting song. Thank you to whoever put it together. Don’t worry about the picture. God gave me an amazing imagination 🥰🥰🥰

I cry when I hear his song, because my great- grandma died when I was in 3rd grade. I had been in the hospital with her and we were singing this song over- and over again together. She was smiling like I had never seen before. When I had went with my cousin to color in my coloring book we heard a loud and constant beeping.. It was her heart collapsing. Now every time I hear this song I cant help but cry and think of her we didn't play this at her funeral but I did sing it at her funeral quietly . She is somewhere over the rainbow with my great- grandpa Arthur :')

My mom passed away on Saturday I loved her so much I didn’t see her a lot towards the end but I thought of all the good times I’d had as a kid never forget her it’s like a bad dream that when I wake up she will be here with my god is with you now mom love you to the moon and back see you on the other side

This was played at my 2 year old great grandson's funeral and was so moving I cry every time I hear it but its healing tears. ❤

My grandmother just passed away, July 8 2018 would have been her 102 birthday. This is the song we chose for her funeral. Lived on Oahu from 1971 until 1975. Also visited the big Island for a week. My grandparents visited us when we were stationed in Ohau. Thanks for this beautiful song.

This is one of my best friends favorite songs. She was dignosed with severe depression, anxiety, and anorexia. This song reminds me of her so much. As I was listening to it with her I noticed every time it started over that it seemed to get a little happier each time. I understand her just a little bit better now and we've come closer. This song connects me to my mother. Mom was kama'aina, born and died on Maui. We spread her ashes at her favorite places, Kepaniwai, Iao valley, and the beach in Pa'ia where her elementary school was. I have saved the rest for Yosemite. Until then, she is resting in her Buddhist shrine in our home. I am looking forward to being with her again in the afterlife.

I hope I can make as big of a difference and influence as him. I'm only 13 but my parents would tell about him, and I thought of him like an uncle. When the told me he died 10 years earlier, I cried for three days and didn't eat anything all while listening to his music, making a permanent sit for him in my heart. on October 12th 2017 my grandmother passed away of sepsis. My grandfather passed away on March 4th 2017 (2 days after my 10th birthday), even though sepsis was her scientific cause of death - everyone thought she died of a broken heart. she stopped looking after herself after grandad died. the day she died I went to visit her in hospital, she couldn't talk due to all of the pain medication she was on, but she was in a lot of pain still. I had learnt to sing this song at school because I knew it was her favourite song even though it used to make her cry. before I said goodbye to her for what I didn't know at the time, but turned out to be the last time I ever said goodbye, I sang her this song(very quietly just loud enough for her to hear) and for the first time in hours she wasn't quietly whining in pain, she was quiet and her mouth curled up into a small smile,despite barely being conscious. 4 hours later my uncle called me saying that she had passed away. this is the first time I have listened to this song since that day. Her birthday is a day before mine, she would be turning 73 this year, we are spreading her ashes at the same place we spread my grandfathers ashes with her. Your still the brightest star in the sky nana.

Your comment made me cry. We can die of a broken heart. My father passed from sepsis in 1996 at age 69. It is basically blood toxicity / poisoning / bacteria. Sadness and grief would make us toxic, IMO. I’m so very sorry for your loss. What you did for your nana was beautiful. I takes more facial muscles to smile than frown. She is still with you, every single day.

I truly believe this is a very spiritual sound I lost the man I loved and haven't been able to smile and I had no tears for over to years. When I first heard this dang by IZ I had an awakening I immediately saw my loved one in my mind and cried like a baby and even now when I hear this my mind runs with memories of my love appear vivid in my mind, and oh the memories than flo. I just grabs me and makes me smile oh the memories. May IZ and CS RIP.

One hour is still not enough. Even twenty hours with this song is not enough. He sings so beautifully.

This song is very important now. When I do my homework alone, this song makes me happier and calmer. Israel didn't die. He is somewhere over the Rainbow and he helps me live.

Same here I just heard of this person from the doodle, and when I heard the song the first time, I knew we had a legend in our world. When I saw he passed away I was deeply sad due to how he just started to begin his career with this. May we hope someday we meet him over the rainbow soon

They are those shooting stars that pass through our world leaving a beautiful and melodic trail of light and melody

you can sing this song when your pets die or people because you'll find there spirit over the rainbow watching you and you'll always see them over the rainbow. :D (never thought of that till i heared this song i thought of it,and your the best ghost for making a 1hour over the rainbow.)

I completely forgot about this song until now, this brings me back so many memories when I was a kid and I wish I could relive it, I started listening to this today in class and had a breakdown out of joy being able to still have those memories

Love how ppl unite and connect when listening to this. Just shows why music is so important to ppl and why it's considered an art

This is the only song that can comfort me. My grand grandfather is 93 and is going to die of lungcancer in a couple of months. He has very bad memory so he barely knows who I am but he still makes me happy when I see him smile. I will charish his last months with him.🙏

I used to play this for my grandson when I'd rock him to sleep...now if I sing it to him, he remembers this song from that first year of his life

I struggled a bit, but whenever i hit a good point in life and peak i listen to this a lot and it makes me even happier.

Early March 2020, I got sick after a 2 weeks I my wife took me to the ER, instead of feeling cared for, I was treated like Shit for the next 13 when the Doctors came in and told me it was Covid-19 "Go home there's nothing we can do for you...good luck" went home told my wife I brought the new deadly plague home.. After crying in her warm loving arms for over an hour, I wanted to take a shower and listen music......this song appeared on my KZread wall, never heard it before I spent 3 hours lin the shower listening to this man's amazing voice, as if he was telling me that it was going to be ok. After that I knew live or die it was going to be okay.......luckily I beat Covid-19 not but twice. This is a beautiful song from beautiful man. Thank you.
