Thank you for the shout out to us poor stay at home moms!!!! I’ve had a job since I was 15 and 4 years ago we made the decision for me to stay home and it’s by far the hardest job EVER and we get no recognition, no paycheck and are everyone just thinks I’m living it up at home 😂

Blanket/quilt gang here! I ADORE my quilts, all made by my grandma :’) and adding blankets on top for added texture/color (never mind the warmth) really brings the room together. 10/10 cozy

I am probably going to annoy people by suggesting this-- but it comes from love--I am a firm believer of putting things away as soon as you are done with them. I also do 10-15 minute cleaning every morning or after work so that the house is ALWAYS tidy and nothing every gets real dusty or dirty, It's way easier to do it this way than to have to find hours to do it all at the end of the work week or on weekends when you don't have hours of time. xo

Watched your video while nursing my 4 day old son at 2am and I feel so seen with your comments about parenting and cleaning. ❤ Between our 3 year old, newborn, and ourselves, the kitchen is always dirty and the laundry is never done. Sisyphean does not even begin to describe it.

Blanket/quilt girl here! So cozy and cute, layers for colder nights or just one for summer. I love keeping one quilt in our collection and adding pops of color with an extra blanket. ❤ and laundry is easier - they dry so much faster and you can just throw it on the bed after!

Switched from duvet to a quilt with a blanket on top! I can NOT be bothered with a duvet, I absolutely hate the process of putting the puff in the pocket. Switch, you won’t regret lol

I feel like duvet covers and flat sheets were things invented because washing machines were too small for comforters and quilts. Growing up my family always slept raw dogging the blanket/quilt. But alas I now have a tiny washing machine that can not support my comforter/quilt dreams and I have been sequestered to the duvet cover (no way am I dealing with the tangling that is a flat sheet). One day... maybe.... I will once again have a large washing machine 😢

At 37 I joined a sports team and it has been the best idea ever!! Also, we are totally team quilt in the warm months and duvet in the colder months. It is life and time saving... Fun video as always. Meryl is queen

Confession time - in summer I put an empty duvet cover on the bed. I find it adds enough weight that I feel snug without adding too much heat. For context our summers have 20 degree nights often so we don't need the warmth.

Same. Our summers get really hot (had a 28 degree night in January this year), so just using the empty duvet cover is great because it still looks kinda nice & matchy without the extra heat.

You expressed exactly what I was feeling this weekend (and experience all the time) about household maintenance - how do people do it and why is it so muuuuccch all the time. I just want to sit on the couch and read on the weekend when Im home but all I do is run around cleaning up and organizing. Life admin is reeal! Rant over. Definitely no duvet! We are such warm sleepers for sure team blanket and a thin quilt. I found a super cute thin white one at target lol. And in the winter we have a heavy knit type blanket that adds warmth on a colder night

Housework truly never ends! Single mum, work full time and have all the housework…my brain never switches off. Always lists of things to do. I wasn’t able to work the first year of the pandemic and I home schooled like all parents….wow that was intense!!

I feel you on aligns - and will suggest the long kamo fitness serenity shorts. I’ve got the same thick thigh concerns and love the so much. The buff bunny legacy shorts are good too. They’re not as buttery smooth but they work great for workouts!!

We just use the duvet cover and it’s the best. It’s from Casaluna and it’s super cooling and silky soft.

in the summer I sleep with just the duvet cover, and a blanket or quilt on top if needed. Hate changing the duvet

Oversized King quilts are amazing! You can get cream, beige, earthy tones ana great quality for $40-$60. They also clean nicely in the wash. The minimal “fluff” inside doesn’t move around or lump due to the numerous stitching

About 3 months ago my boyfriend and I also switched out our duvet and duvet cover for a cotton quilt. I get an extra throw blanket and warm PJs if I’m cold but it’s so much easier

I think you should definitely try a quilt, or one of those cotton waffle weave blankets. I usually rotate between the two depending on the season. HomeGoods/HomeSense usually has some really affordable quality blankets! I’ve also just used my H&M linen duvet cover without an insert in the summer and it works just as well

Can you do an entire video dedicated to your tennis journey and your racket, shoes, etc. ? I've recently gotten back into playing tennis as an adult and I feel like we're on a similar journey and I'd love to see how your experience has been as well.

I use a sheet and the duvet is then a quilt on top , so I just change the sheets up

Allana! As a fellow Align 8” short lover, my biggest tip- grab Align 23” or Align 21” and get them hemmed to an 8” inseam! If you don’t mind colour, I like to grab sale pairs so that I’m essentially paying the same price.

Spring has sprung where I live too! Which is nice, but also unfortunate because that means tornado season has also blown in. Just yesterday, we had several severe weather/tornado warnings from areas all around my house. Thankfully, none actually touched down near my house. Well wishes to anyone who got or will get caught up in a tornado. Stay safe out there!!

As for the second question, it is normal for my state to experience tornadoes around this time of year, but there usually aren’t any that are predicted to touch down in my area of the state. Tornadoes usually stay more towards the south of the state, but there’s generally one severe weather alert per season. For spring it’s usually just rain, summer is usually tornadoes, fall is winds, and there’s usually one big blizzard in winter.

I love my beyond yoga leggings. They’ve held up through 4-5 years of gym use multiple times per week.

If you have two duvet covers, then as soon as you take one off to wash you can immediately put the new one on. Same with sheets!

been using rollers my entire life and the big ones are for long hair/blow out look. if your hair isn’t long enough go with medium sized rollers. because of the front layers maybe try the medium in the front and big ones in the back. personally i do it old school and use the hair bonnet dryer to style

Comforters are so underrated!

When I struggle to commit to exercise, I ask myself "What Would Allana Do?" And then I tell myself that most of the time, Allana would probably get out there and, well, just do it. So thank you for being such an amazing and relatable and inspiring person. Your vlogs give me so much more than I ever expected. And home made granola is. The. Best. 🤌

Ok, you're really making me want to take up some tennis 🎾 lessons 😊. Great job, Lan 👍. Loved the green 💚 top you wore with Lululemon bottoms. That was so sweet about the florist. I'm going to have to take a whiff of the new Miss Dior perfume. The plane story cracked me up, lolol. Totally me. The only thing I ever use on my hair besides a blow dryer sometimes are hot rollers and velcro. I have a few "packs" of the velcro and i love them. They come in all different sizes, but always use the biggest on top of my head. Now, for my bed, I switched from a duvet to this kind of weighted comforter, but the material is AMAZING...not too hot and shaped so it doesn't pull one way or the other when my husband and i are sleeping if that makes sense. It's a "special design". So glad I switched. It was only $250 @ Target! Great find. Love ya's loads xoxoxo 🤗

Blanket/quilt girl here. I could never put a duvet on. Too warm and heavy. Lots too chose from for design and comfort. I just use something that’s breathable and light. Meryl is adorable. Honestly I’m over duvets altogether. I did it for years and dreaded it like you do after laundry. Switched to a very lightweight quilt from Target $40 my hubby prefers it because it’s not as warm. Best decision ever!

Yes! I completely stopped using a duvet (we call them doona's in Aus) cover years ago. It's too annoying so I bought a couple of heavy linen throws (French flax) from Bed Threads. One is in a gorgeous terracotta shade called Pink Clay and the other is sage. They're huge so they cover the whole doona. Problem solved... I've been making granola for 20 years and i like it nutty so i don't grind any nuts. Macadamias are a must. Also add some shredded coconut to the toasted mix and it's even better. Don't put them in before roasting because they burn.

Allana, girl I’m with you regarding the Lululemon Align shorts (not so much their prices, but I digress 😂). They converted me when I did a Spartan Race and tried them for the first time, and when I tell you those Align 25” held me together, girl…I’ve never looked back and I’ve tried them all. I know the Aligns are mainly for yoga and the Wander are more for working out, but the Aligns are BAE ❤❤

Those pesky attack hairs! I’ve used a duvet cover twice. Then, because my husband and I both snuggle with our top layer, I made simple quilts out of flat sheets for each of us and ditched even the top sheet. so much easier!

Also have you tried active wear from Oner Active? Their sport bras are the only ones that have been wide enough for my arm pits thingies too👍🏼🙈I only use their leggings and bras!

Have you ever tried Popflex workout gear? They don't have the front seam that gets in all the wrong places!

Do you have coverless duvets in Canada? I just found them in England and it’s so much easier. It’s all stitched together and you just chuck the whole thing in the washer and drier

I'm with you on playing with dangling things on. I cannot play in t-shirts either, the sleeves drive me crazy, must be a sleeveless top. Maybe try those tennis dresses with your 8 inch shorts under the short shorts? I wear them over thinner, long leggings and I don't find it uncomfortable at all.
